      @AmandaMelrose I'm super happy as well, this saved my son with asd/adhd and several anxiety disorders,however, he is totally gifted. Music is his special interest as well as where he spends his time after done with acellus.
      Thank you for your review. Not all States have a virtual option for school. I am a state advocate in NJ and it's frustrating that kids don't have this option to be themselves without having to add extra stressor. I also know many families that their kids did a 180° and show their true colors.. super amazing

    My 15 year old daughter got a 28 on her ACT thanks to Acellus Academy. She can't apply for graduation until the day she turns 16. She has a full ride to most colleges that she would want to go to. She is currently taking classes at the University of her choice.

    I have been doing Acellus since 2020, I’m now on my last year of high school. I’m ahead because of Acellus. I used to need a lot of extra help in school and now I do everything all on my own, at my own speed. I recommend this school for anybody who wants to homeschool, this is coming from the perspective of an older student of Acellus.

    I’m actually a student there and I asked about the library. They said they are still loading the books on there. Also I agree with you that there is a lot of technical difficulties on there. I can’t sign in right now. Phone calls you have to wait like 20 minutes for someone to pick up.

      I saw that too and I was thinking I should have included it in the video I just did. Basically I don't think you change any settings but they are saying because of the vectored instruction and how you can redo the lessons it may be good. But I didn't see any specific settings related to special needs.

    I have my child in Acellus but I'm still glad I watched your video to get your opinion and to explain Power Homeschool. My son has done K to 2, and I do like the new interface. The big pro is the price. I like how the classes are set up like a normal school with a teacher wven though it's a pre recorded lesson. I have been looking at other online schools and notice that most of them are just turning the textbook into an e-book. As a parent I can't sit to make sure my son is reading his lessons. I like on Acellus how I can just step away and hear the lesson going and jump in when I need to. I have not experienced any really bad technical difficulties. Rarely this happens, but if the loading is slow or freezes I just reload the page. I just recently noticed the empty library but it doesn't bother me too much because my child wouldn't care for those generic online books anyway that they had on their old interface. Whatever the school is lacking curriculum wise, I supplement myself. I'm not big on common core but I'm living in a state that follows those guidelines so I try to stay on par and use Acellus as my baseline. All the schools in my state are WASC certified so I want to stay with a WASC accredited school.

      Hi can this be done by a fulltime single work from home mom? I am interested in putting my son in kindergarten but mentally unsure if I would be able to

    • @marilynmccorriston3782
      @marilynmccorriston3782 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ijlalmuhammad8914 I truly believe that any mother or father can do this even though you are working full time or part time. Your a fulltime mom at home, even better! For my son's kindergarten year it really only requires you to put in an hour of work, I usually did an hour and a half and broke it up into 2 to 3 segments. Sometimes if I didn't have time on the weekdays I did it on the weekend. The best part about homeschool is that everything is totally up to you! In my opinion Acellus does a great job of covering the basics. When I thought that there was something that was missing I was just fill it in myself with my mini lesson or worksheet. I did sit with my son to watch his lessons but if you have a tablet he could sit right in front of you as you cook or clean or work on your own computer. As he got the hang of it, I was able to just pop my head in to see if he was paying attention. The lessons are very engaging and are just like they are being taught in a classroom. I purchased the Acellus Academy as I like the peace of mind of having it accredited. I started during the pandemic and he has been loving it since. You can do it!

    How does this program compare to public school standards. My high schooler only spends 10-15 minutes on each course every day. He finishes the entire day’s school in about an hour! I’m really worried it is not enough and have been supplementing with assigning literature and writing assignments. But I also worry about math.

    • @AmandaMelrose
      @AmandaMelrose  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I am a student and I've been using Power Homeschool since October 31st or November 1st, without noticing that Power Homeschool isn't an accredited program, so my question is, how can I (if possible) transfer my progress to Acellus Academy or even any other accredited program?

    • @AmandaMelrose
      @AmandaMelrose  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You will need to contact acellus about transferring. If you aren't in high school yet there's really no need to, just wait until 9th grade. If you're in high school already, you may still prefer to wait until the end of the year and transfer your credits from power homeschool to acellus starting next year. Transfering mid year may cause you to have to repeat lessons.

      @doaametwally1615 it says it's accredited, but you can't accredit homeschool curriculum, which is what it is unless you got to their private high-school MiaPrep. I used them for my kindergartener and my then 2nd grader. I personally thought Mia was very lacking. My kindergartener didn't retain anything, and my son has a lot of gaps. They offer PDF work but it still wasn't enough. I'd say if you're going to use this make sure you add your own offline work for reading, spelling, handwriting, phonics and math practice.

    Hello there I live in Montgomery Alabama and I just enrolled my son into it when my son enrolled to acellus academy how does the whole thing works because my son is enrolled into a public high school and I’m worried that if I unrolled my son from public school to this and I don’t want him to fail and also another thing when I enroll my son to acellus do I need to submit any documentation like brith certificate or something?

    • @AmandaMelrose
      @AmandaMelrose  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did not need anything when I enrolled in Acellus to test it, but you may need documents for graduation. I'm not sure about that but you can contact them. As for how the homeschool laws work, usually you would formally withdraw your child and then its up to you how you want to educate them. You can do textbooks/print curriculum, homeschool programs, or an online school like Acellus.

    Is this school equipt for students that are behind grade level? I’m worried because I had M͎y͎ child enrolled in Connections Academy and she was bombarded with work. Difficult work plus a bunch of tutoring. She’s behind and has an IEP. She suffers of Anxiety and the work increased her Anxiety. I just withdrew her today so am seeking a homeschool.

    • @AmandaMelrose
      @AmandaMelrose  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is a self-paced program. It is exactly the same thing curriculum-wise as Power Homeschool, but there are certain additional requirements since this is a school and not a homeschooling program. There are no live classes to attend, no teacher checking your work. It's all done online and graded through the system. So you can go at a slower pace, you can rewatch the videos if you need to, etc.

    • @AmandaMelrose
      @AmandaMelrose  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes this program does work like a school, so they will keep track of grades and test scores. You will need to follow the homeschool laws for your state, and if you need to (or want to) do state testing then you will need to do that yourself, that won't be part of this program.

      It's definitely not a college prep academy or one of the best online schools out there. It does the job I guess. I don't think colleges care all that much about where someone got their diploma from unless it's somewhere really special. There are other aspects to a college application. But you'll have an accredited diploma and this is definitely one of the more affordable ways to get one from home.

      If you're asking because you want your records to transfer then you will need to contact someone at Acellus to find out about that. I wouldn't bother to transfer until high school though as it's exactly the same program. And if you are transferring after 9th grade you will have to discuss this with Acellus as well because they will have to approve any transfer credits. So my advice if you are planning to use Acellus for high school is to transfer at the start of 9th grade.
