    FAQ:
    Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina spends her time cooking, gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new...?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
    Who is behind the camera?
Her retired son-in-law films, her daughter helps her prep, and she usually has one or two grandkids in the kitchen.
    Does Gina read the comments?
We print out and show her how much love she gets from all her viewers, and she is very thankful and hopes you enjoy her cooking! Your comments bring her lots of joy, laughter, and inspiration to make more videos to share with you.
Thank you for watching, we hope you subscribe, and we will see you in our next video!

Grazie!! Perfection in a pot!! My Italian relatives all lived to late 80's-90's & this is why!!
Everything fresh & NOTHING out of a box!! Americans like easy stuff out of a box filled with chemicals. Eat food as close to it's natural state.

I've made this 3 times in 2 weeks. My family and I LOVE this soup/stew. The first time I made it we couldn't stop eating it. I finally put it away so we could have it again the next day, and we did. There are only 4 of us, but we finish a big pot of this in 2 days. Then we have your awesome Sponge cake for dessert with a cup of coffee and we all feel happy. The only problem is we are now addicted to this and I can't make it often enough. So easy, so good, so healthy and being vegetarians we appreciate the use of so many easy to find vegetables. Thank you so much. With love 💗🌼

Grazie mille gentile signora Gina. I assumed you were 65, and I was now very surprised that you age is already over 80 - you look so much younger than you really are! I assume this is because of your good cooking skills and the amazing italian kitchen I always (as a Croatian) used to love. Wow, grazie signora Gina, I just decided to try all of your dishes and I think I will choose your cooking style to be my way of cooking for the rest of my life! (And hopefully for a future family of mine). I already have tried one of your meals, the zuchhetti meal - and with the fresh basil and parsley it was sooo delicious! I plan to have a garden as well, now I have a little idea what I could plant, God bless you and your family! Anna Noa from Switzerland

Hello I'm italian from Abruzzo. Your grandma is lovely and her recipes are pretty the same my grandma did and now my father does. Please say to your grandma Gina that her dialect, recipes and way of life are pretty closed to my relatives ones...There also are some people named Petite in my mother's town (Casoli in Abruzzo region). A very big hug to her. Gina sei una forza!Insegna agli americani a mangiare roba buona!Hai ragione per mangiare bene bisogna saper cucinare (e prima procurarsi vegetali e cibo genuino) altro che porcherie pronte! :)

I just discovered Grandma Gina... she reminds me of my Yiayia from Greece who spoke broken English, but we all understood. Greek cooking is very similar to Italian cooking. I am using all of your recipes, especially since I too have a vegetable garden. Treasure your Grandma, your grandchildren are very lucky to have her living with you. I Love Gina.

Love this, my sisters and I ate this growing up, her recipe is slightly different from Mia Mamma, she put melanzana (aubergine eggplant) in hers also near the end she would add a egg to poach, served with cheese sprinkled on top with fresh crusty bread yummy, sometimes as a treat she would add chicken or rabbit

I was raised in a Italian neighborhood in New Jersey, after school all my friends ( Italian of course) would go to one of their homes, each having an Italian grand parents, and sample the evening meal that was being prepared. This video brings back such great memories!, oh yes! We would sample some of the dandelion wine made by the grandfather while watching fresh pasta being made. What Great Memories.

WAYNE HARRISON my favorite memory in the streets of New York is walking home from school and you could pass every house in the neighborhood. And tell what they were having for dinner! That’s when everyone used to open their windows and the fragrance would float out the windows and hit your nose and belly! Man this one lady would make spareribs and sauerkraut and cook it like 2 hours in the oven and the smell was mesmerizing! Or stuffed green peppers 🌶....mama Mia! That’s when everybody cooked EVERY night and dinner was ready when you arrived home from school! EVERY nite!!! I used to ask the lady’s for their recipe ... and I was only like 15 yo! Now retired but still remember how MRS. so and so said she made it. ! Wish I lived near Gina !

Gina Thank you so much. You have brought such joy to my life. My Nona was from Compo-basso and cooked so much like you. I cooked with her when I was very young, she was gone before I married. I so wished I could have her recipes and the instruction on how to make things. For 30+ years I looked and tried. Now I found you and I have them. The chambotta, lindig (lentil soup) bracciole everything is here. I can't thank you enough. You have made this longing to do things as she did come true.

I hope that you had a restful week at the beach. When you get old like ME, you can't hang outside in the sun anymore. It just drains the energy out of me head to foot! Stay inside and stay cool these next couple of hot months. I am looking forward to fall. You will have to introduce us to the autumn food people fix in Italy when that time comes. Happy Sunday, Grandma Gina! I just made a big pot of your Ciambotta and I can't wait for dinner tonight! We had this wonderful stew growing up and my Mother would serve it with some sort of meat...and, of course, Italian bread for dipping. I forgot to buy the bread, but like a good Italian, I think I'll make a little side of plain pasta that I can add the stew to. Thank you so much for this recipe...I love looking through your videos on Sundays, deciding what to try next!! Grazie and have a great week!
