- I had to drop test the new iPhone XR vs iPhone XS Max to see how a durability test would go! The aluminum build on the XR vs the steel on the XS makes both flagship smartphones weird. For $750 the iPhone XR is cheaper but I didn’t expect this to happen…

The iPhone XR has an all-screen LCD 6.1-inch liquid retina display, with multi-touch technology and an IP67 water resistant rating. The XR uses an A12 Bionic chip to take photos with the 12MP wide-angle rear camera, which shoots at f/1.8 aperture. It has optical stabilization, a digital zoom of up to 5x and a more advanced Portrait mode with bokeh and depth control, along with portrait lighting effects! The battery lasts up to 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 8 Plus, so the upgrade is definitely worth it. The iPhone XR is running iOS 12, and comes in Product RED, Yellow, White, Coral, Black, and Blue.

@@georgy3029 I bought my Iphone 6 a year ago, refurbished (because it is cheaper), the charger and earbuds broke within two months, and at the end i paid so much for repairs (it came broken) that i could have easily bought a new one, but since it is used a year later is extreemly slow, and i already need a new one, so won't ever buy used again 😂
@@georgy3029 That is true, but when watching youtube or other videos i am usually on my laptop, i buy it more for the battery life, the back camera (making videos in 4K for youtube :P) and the color :). and obviously the price, i just realized on my iPhone that i have been watching videos on 720p by accident so i don't think i will notice as much difference :P.

Stainless steel is harder than aluminum, so it's more likely not to absorb the impact of the drop and the glass will be the one to absorb that force (hence the glass shattering). On the other hand, since aluminum is softer, it'll get dings because it's absorbing that force by deforming and getting dents.
LCD displays are also able to withstand more shock than OLEDs
@peter the panda the stainless steel and the glass is sepperated with a thin layer of rubber or plastic otherwise the phone will break with a tiny bit of force

This won’t happen if you get a case people. That only happens if you don’t get case. If you get a screen protector, the screen will only chip and you can change it later on and I have no problem with the XS.

I'm upgrading from my iPhone 5 to a blue XR for christmas, and I'm really excited! I've been hearing a lot of negative things about the XR, but they all sound pretty minor to me. Most of their complaints are only about no more 3D touch. I'm glad to see that it doesn't do too horrible when it's dropped (idk when i'd ever drop it from higher than my pocket so i think i'll be okay)
