Love this download, CSX moving America. The engines are beastly. As a kid I enjoy hanging out on railroad tracks and watching trains move fast, big wheels turning screeching the rails...pure music to my ears. Thank you for helping many of us by keeping our childhood alive. I still count the freight cars, as I did, as a kid many years ago.
Nice train action i find myself doing the same question for you how do you listen on their frequency what do you use i hear mile post detector no defects i like it
I have a weird sense when I here a very high pitched rattle and then once it gets louder a train comes around the corner(my perspective was from the neighborhood side)
I've seen vehicular traffic on the one behind the signal bridge, but not the one behind the 35/30 sign next to track 2. Another fine video btw. Always enjoy you signature close-up shots... excluding the snakes of course lol.
Hello, next weekend (most likely Sunday) I'm planning on railfanning either NS or CSX. I was looking for a spot where it's full power territory (Notch 8) and not too far from PA. There's only one spot down by the Susquehanna river that I know of that's notch 8 but it's very hard to get to and now private property. I was going to head to St. Denis but I don't want to try 695 or Baltimore traffic (be the first time by myself). If you have a spot you know could you let me know. Thanks in advance Ryan Hatterer.
Ryan Hatterer hmmmm... hopefully someone else can help here, too. I cant really think of any. St denis is good for watching trains, but they are slow, and def not full power. Shenandoah Junction (and Shepherdstown) is good for fast trains. Are you anywhere near the CSX Philly sub , which heads north out of Baltimore sort of along I-95? There aren't as many trains through there, but in most places they are fairly fast. There are places along the CSX MET sub that are fast, too. Not sure if that's too far for you. I can give you specific details about different places if you have any questions.
I'm actually up near York, PA. The closes rail line is Norfolk Southern's Port road branch where there Columbia secondary comes down to the River, CSX would be there Hanover Sub from Baltimore to Hanover. Thanks for the extra information. I have some back up plans if I can't find something for CSX.
which bridge? the one seen in the first few seconds? if so, that's rolling road, which is just south of st denis station. it is used very much. it's the same bridge seen in the shots from the station, and you can see vehicles driving on it.
***** thx! These were over a time span, so prob with a couple different cameras. Both were just sony cameras, as is with nothing special. Sometimes with a tripod.
StarTard8 I go various different times. I used to go Sat or Sun and spend about half a day there. I haven't done that for a while. Then I would stop there for an hour or so after work on days I got off early. I don't go much anymore. Thanks for the compliments. There's really no set answer about getting shots. it's generally just luck, and showing up enough to see different things. I've sat there many hours and seen nothing at all!

I'd like to hear a DD that did find a defect. I guess it's rare, though.
Rose Prevost I have a few vids with defects found
Is that bridge south/west of St. Denis station part of an abandoned rr? Never see traffic of any kind on it.

Hey, B&O, when do you go out to St. Denis? How long are you out there to get all these great shots? I need tips!

BaltimoreAndOhioRR Thanks a ton! I've loved trains ever since I can remember, and I'm happy to have found someone who watches the same line that I do.
