Surprisingly this suit is one of those ones that sound really good on paper, but has little to know survivability outside it's one stun and relies heavily on beam accumulation. Which in this meta means hitting EVERY shot. Ggwp you did your best with what you got lol 👍😂
Thanks for watching! Yeah it sounds cool to have a support which can like accompany right beside generals but other supports just do that better without the weaknesses of the GP04 unfortunately. Prototype Stark Jegan doesn't have the melee ability but is just as fast, has way more HP and way more damage. Rick Dijeh is bigger but has better melee, better ranged damage, better mobility, better HP and better stuns.
@@avenger1_gbo260 And to top it all off with the usual cost range you're running into either re-gz, the geara Zulu, or literally any other heavy attack unit or super fast stealth or something something raid unit. Not mentioning opposing support fire from the enemies. 😱😱😱
This suit can be pretty dangerous but it can get massacred by generals. I really think the support class as a whole needs to be reworked. The whole slow and melee weak gimmick is just a disaster as both raids and generals just get faster and stronger melee damage. I almost never er use them anymore since newer generals can move faster than you can even aim
I think tons of supports are strong but there are a lot of weak individual ones at the same time. Like comparing Rick Dijeh to GP04 both 550 cost supports. Rick Dijeh is a strong support that can massacre generals in melee or at range while also having good mobility. Practically the same archetype as GP04 but just better. I would rather they buffed weak individual supports like GP04 honestly.
@@avenger1_gbo260 Supports used to be my go to class, but trying to use them now feels like such an uphill battle. I might give the Rick dijeh another shot, I wasn't impressed when it first came out.
@@blackarotthegreat8191 It got quite a few buffs and it is a lot better now. It has balancers, got more HP, leg buffer, more grenades damage and less heat on HML.
I like how you use your body as a weapon, doing the thrust forward to hinder foes from moving. I started doing that more to sop enemies from running away when an alley is close. You can set up nasty combos if you don’t mind your alley knocking you down to finish off an opponent
This suit definitely needs some love. Maybe a heat rate buff the the main br and a few more shots in the sub br. Also, if they want the GP04 to be a melee support, maybe upping the melee priority to 2 would be a good idea.
IMPO, the GP-04 seems massively underrated despite some of the things going against it. I do have a few positives. For one thing, it's one of the Support MS that can run and gun with its main weapon. While some of them are hampered by having to stay still to fire it, the GP-04 does not have that problem, since you can move around and shoot an enemy at will, perfect for getting some distance away from them, or trying to strafe them from the sides. The beam sniper rifle it packs can slap hard at nearly 3/4 of a kilometer away! Pretty rangy as far as sniper rifles go, and with careful management of its cooldown, you can fire it up to three times. It needs a bit of practice to get used to it. A Support that possesses Melee Combo Controler lvl 1 is a bit of a rarify that catches some people by surprise, mostly because they don't usually expect them to get into the mix every now and then, as most Supports usually go for the downswing after stunning an enemy with one of their weapons. But being able to to slice someone twice for big damage is not a bad thing to have once you learn how to close the gap or stop an enemy in their tracks! Although it does not have a large arsenal like some of the Supports do, sometimes less is more. It makes it easier to handle some situations that call for awareness on how the battles are going and how are you handling your weapons. It takes practice and experience, but it can definitely be done. If I can agree on a couple of things, I think both the HP and the overall damage on its sub beam rifle definitely need a good bump to provide better performance. It's possible you may have to fiddle around with a good build to improve things with it. Between 550-650 matches, you have some better odds for a win. 700 matches are possible, but it's an uphill battle, and a number of factors have to be taken in account in order to eke out a win. The GP-04 is my favorite Support MS and you can do some good things with it! You just need a lot of practice, patience, good control and awareness to make it. And of course, not get saddled with a team that does not know what it's doing! XD
Yeah the main gun has a lot of range but you often aren't even fighting in that range, especially if you wanna be following up with sub rifle or melee. So its a cool gimmick but you probably won't be making any major plays with it. Less is more in the sense that its easy to bring out the full potential of this suit but it still kinda sucks to not have as much ranged damage or stuns as other supports do. Its harder to do well in something like a Rick Dijeh but it just blows GP04 out of the water once you learn the proper rotation and stuns etc. Rick Dijeh is of course stronger than a lot of supports at 550 but it feels like its basically just doing the whole "run and gun" support thing better.
For once, I think this suit at lvl 4 can actually be pretty useful on some maps, especially with everyone running Unicorn still. That said, it suffers hard when its weapons are on cooldown/reloading. I still like it and run it when 700 cost rooms are up on rated match.
hi! i just got into this game very recently and my brother recommended your vids for advice. the gp04 is the suit my brother recommended that so far ive been jiving with the most. i play less close-ranged and moreso enjoy its ability to deny enemy ms movement from afar, while also having solid movement myself. the only skill i really got going for me really is aim, so thats what i try to take advantage of. what suits would you recommend as a step up from the gp04 in the future?
Full Armor 7th Gundam is a great upgrade to the GP04. It has similar mobility, much better stun ability and much better DPS ability. But you gotta be able to swap between weapons to finish stun combos. More weapons to juggle basically but much higher potential.
I do really like the simple weapon sequences of this suit, 2 weapons that can be shot while moving & hit target relatively far away feels rly nice. But the heat rate/ reload rate of them do let to some coverage gaps sometimes.
A doge roll would make it more dangerous. I just play sniper and have both beams on quick reload (meaning I put items that refresh its beams faster) Then I just pick off foes. Then add items to boost thruster If I’m feeling Ballsy, I just use my other Build that that puts most items in range. So my shots are more lethal. For me, I go thruster plus beam shields, or range first plus as much thruster as possible. This guy is dead meat in any real up close combat encounter but could be good if you stick to your group and pic off foes. I normally go for interruption. So I wait for others to stun a foe then shoot that one, big gun then all five small bullets. Or I stun a person before they attack a friend or try to halt other foes before hitting my alleys. This suit is great for finishing off foes on little health but once the combat is brought to you, you are dead meat jnless you can move fast. Either I’m top leaderboard with it or utter trash to the point I exit out the end game screen fast cuz I know I disappointed my team 🤣
Yeah, GP04 is very easy to pick up but that does result in a low skill ceiling. Similarly to GP01's missing subweapon, the GP04 should have its own beam melee weapon affixed to its rifle. While still lacking in durability, access to a second melee weapon alone would immediately give the GP04 a unique niche amongst 550 supports. Being able to compensate for its lack of ranged stun through melee combos, albeit at relatively low damage output, would open chances to punish anyone trying to rush it down for a quick kill. As it stands, it's still one of my personal favorites for applying fast and sustained leg damage while sticking close to your team's front liners.
I feel like adding a heavy stagger to this suit can make it so you would actually want to go for the downswing with it. With melee suits running around at that cost lvl, using this suits melee is just suicide. Great round with the GPO4 👍
My main problem with it is if I ever use it, I kinda just ask myself why I didn't just pick Super Gundam instead. Like, it can be good if you have to use it but there's a plethora of other supports with similar gameplay that do anything GP-04 does but better. It's not even a particularly fast support, which you'd think it'd be at least since lore wise the GP04 was supposed to be all about high speed assault.
I think most of the comments kinda of echo the sentements about the GP04. I wouldn't mind an additonal weapon since the beam jutte isn't in GBO2 yet and could be a neat trick that is similar to the BR spear that the Zeta and ReZEL use. However, I'm not sure how comitted the devs are in adding something like that and the animation to go along with it. With that said, that now leans towards the stats side of the MS and how it compares to other MS, not only in the same cost range, but if we're also considering the tech progression of 0083 and beyond. And I'm sure they don't want to accidently make the GP04 better than anything in Zeta or ZZ that's currently out. Would be nice to at least know if they're reviewing stuff with all the analytical data regarding damage output and win/loss ratios that they have access to.
The downswing seems fun, but I'd rather just stick with the comparatively quick Full Armor 7th and its delicious leg missiles (also delta gundam just makes lvl 2 GPO4 mostly redundant unless you're just that unlucky with gacha).
it has vulcans you can physically see them yet cant use them its sub wep is beyond sub par in terms of it needs to be adjusted to stagger more or have more ammo or something its primary heat rate could use a slight tweek but outside of that its a solid all round nimble sniper suit w a surprise melee lunge and two swings w balancers no less its honestly really close to being just where it needs to be in terms of an all around style support suit
The GP04 for me has always been great, but one small issue... It's so boring. It's a great suit if you don't fall asleep at the wheel with how boring it is.
Walking speed needs to be bumped up to 130, thrust to 80 and turning speed to 64. 2000 extra HP and melee resist to 15. Sub beam rifle ammo should be bumped up to 6 and reload time lowered to at least 7 seconds, this is supposed to be your vulcan replacement after all and it should thus be up as often as possible. Also for the love of God, ditch the tanks. At least when playing on Ground. All they do is block vision.
From the future. Been dominating 700 cost with this thing. Its actually pretty good to use if you arent playing super aggressive and sticking with the team. Top score, Dmg and Diversions( mfers want you dead with the dmg you dish out lol)
