- Follow Aaron Rolph's 2700km bikepacking trip up the United Kingdom, taking anything but the shortest route. His self-propelled journey involved various activities along the way but when things don't go to plan, his lockdown daydream ends as a hospitalised nightmare. A year on, time has passed yet nothing had really changed, follow his epic adventure from the Scilly Isles to the Shetlands.

Only 3 minutes in and felt I had to echo the statement of another commenter here; this is some of the best filming and production values I've ever seen, and at only 3 minutes in that's really saying something! Edit: 29 minutes in, no change of opinion! Exceptional!

Chapeau ,I rode lejog then on to the Shetlands and the very end of the UK and sat in the famous Bobby's bus shelter .
Fantastic, its this type of short film that inspired me to get out and try some bikepacking trips.

I got a bit confused did you fall ill during the beginning or doing something else ? I fell ill 800 miles in an off road LEJOG but finished it a year later after an operation. well done on your trip .

That's nice. Cycling through GB with your own caravan crew. Kills the adventure element though. Always a cosy home to rely on and somebody who carries your gear. Even my mum could do that. 😆
Haha its a bit harsh to say but I feel the same way. Having done lot of bike travel in my younger years (Europe and Asia) during the eighties and nineties, (yes, pre- internet and pre-mobile phones) I wouldn't have had the same experience as if i was accompanied by a film crew. Nice movie though, I only have old scrubby photographs left.
@Vince1648 Sound like great adventures! The goal for this trip was to inspire more people to make the most of the UK with a film so hopefully we did that. Despite the crew, Aaron wild camped every day and carried all his own camping stuff. He usually undertakes all his adventures unsupported (and often solo) but that wouldn't have made for much of a film would it ;)

Yeah, "perhaps to carve your own adventure..."(with beautiful narrarrator, drones, bicycle repairs, various rentals included), one must need to inherit tens of thousands.etc and so forth. Therefore, mate, This is mere The Great Escape of A Royal Spoiled Brat.
Hey, sorry this film made you feel this way. Fun fact - you can do this trip without a film crew for a couple hundred bucks (and a load of effort on the bike!)

"The Shetland isles" or "Shetland" but never "The Shetlands". Such blasphemy could have you hunted with dogs and pitchforks.
