Although I've never owned a dog (due to allergies) I'm beginning to believe more and more that dogs and other mammals have a wider range of emotions than we give them credit for. Either that or they're very good at mimicking us.

If you are into this type of loner character on a vengeance, I'd highly recommend reading the book series by Robert Crais with the characters Elvis Cole and specifically Joe Pike.
Pike is the Reacher type. Always on the side of righteousness and will do anything, anything possible to make wrongs right.
      Great books.

We didn't want them to go from being abused fighters to being dead. Hence why we never reported the situations to animal control, ASPCA, etc. Game dogs will almost certainly possess dog aggression for the rest of their lives but they can be very loving and protective of their pack humans. anyway i got nailed in the face. took the hit but it did rock me, i was not expecting it to hit so hard. i tried to stay standing but i couldn't as i got dizzy and i had to kneel to not fall down. i think its the reaction anytime you take a hit to the head, you naturally try to stay standing but your equilibrium is rocked so it makes it difficult, either you fall down or you sit down either way you are going down for a moment

That way they can brag about no euthanasia when they have just sent the less adoptable dog to someone else who may or may not be able to place the dog. So I would advise that you check out the local "kill" shelter first. Great dogs can be in either type. But the publicly funded may need you more.

And I don't know what happens at all "no kill shelters", but this scenario is accurate for those I am familiar with.

Yep, and that was a "light punch". A full force punch would probably kill the idiot, or at least break his sinus and one orbital socket. BTW, don't hit someone like that unless you are wearing good leather gloves. Bone splinters from the sinus can break your skin and you can catch blood born diseases and / or get serious infections. Of course using violence to address issues is wrong and a show of lack of imagination. Most states, cities, and towns have laws against animal cruelty and neglect, but are almost never enforced unless the powers that be are publicly shamed into it. Contact the local TV station(s), they all have human interest story's on the evening NEWS, and animal abusers are easy fodder for them and let them play "the good guy" rather than the shallow lazy NEWS just there to sell advertising.

Love the books and so happy to see a good adaptation in the series. Reacher has a great sense of right and wrong. Abuse the dog at your own peril.

I haven't watched the series, but this scene does show what some dog owners deserve, and need to go through.
