THANK YOU! I so appreciate you taking the time to fully explain this watch in detail. Well done. Just purchased this watch (love it) and your video made it so easy to set the watch up fully and increased the joy in my new watch experience. Fan and a subscriber to this channel for some time now. Thanks again! Keep doing what you do so well. Great watch....!!!!
Lots of appreciation for making this video, I would never be able to set time otherwise. You did an amazing job, will keep coming back to this video for setting time lol.
I collect Citizen and Seiko type watches, and I had to have this for my collection. I want to thank you for explaining how to set this model. Your explanations are so easy to follow! Regards, Denny from Minnesota
I have an older version that came on a bracelet and as a sailor I agree, I will never use the sailing features as the chart plotter on my boat does all that and is more user friendly however I have had mine 7 years and love it as much today as the day I got it. It has been a wonderful watch that remains in rotation with other watches.
...and when lightening strikes, or you have a battery fire, and the chart plotter dies, you'll thank Neptune you had a basic watch and backup paper charts. Go on channel 16 and tell them "everything is fine, but the chart plotter died", and see how fast they show up.
First thing to do is get rid of the strap and replace it with a NATO or Z-strap (I can't remember what the difference is). This comes from someone who has lost two watches in 36 years of sailing. If the pin breaks you want it to stay on your wrist. And the silicone straps eventually fail too. You can easily get a 22mm NATO or Zulu strap in orange. 🙂
To show your tack angle. If you're on starboard, you line the 'STARBOARD' line on the watch up with the keel of the boat and the bezel shows what your tack angle will be on port. If you're on port tack you line the 'PORT' index on the bezel up with the keel and the starboard index shows what your next angle will be. You can turn the bezel to get the exact reading of your tack angle in degrees.
I never would have figured this out without this video haha absolutely awesome, thank you! Love my citizen watches but damn nothing is easy anymore haha
To get both displays showing the same time select the time zone you want and push the two buttons on the right together it will now have the analog and digital times synced!
I just ordered one and can't effing wait to get it. I am not intimidated in the least by the complexity. Look, you set the time occasionally, and then you quickly learn to use the features you need - not all of them. This watch is designed for sailors. If you're not a sailor, you won't understand why you need all this.
Please, what do you think of the silicone bracelet for the watch? Did you experience any complaint or corrosion? Is the silicone bracelet as practical and can handle the daily lifestyle as the metal bracelet?
I can’t speak on this watch but I have an older model citizens prodiver with the polyurethane band and it’s held up for years. It was my Dad’s watch 10+ years old. The band is holding up fine .
Great review, thank you. I have multiple mudmaster G-Shocks and Seiko watches. The citizen website says the countries on the watch. But my watch is missing ADL. But yours is the best video I've seen on this watch thank you
The complication is fine to me, my only problem with this watch is how slow the analog hands transition to different time zones! Seems to be unique to the movement Yep, just checked my first gen navihawk from the 90s, the hands transition between hours/timezones by the hour hand, not waiting for the minute hand to make the rounds! My old Skyhawks from the 00's are reliant on the minute hand to change hours/timezones, but I don't believe they are quite as slow as this Sailhawk!
IMO this watch is pretty easy to handle once you set it up. Not mentioned in this video: the race timer is really cool because when activated the second hand moves *against* the clock (like on Casio MT-G models in timer mode) 🤓
I just ordered one of these as you said based on the looks. I do own a sailboat but still I'm sure none of the functions I'll use. My only concern is the sizing but because of where I ordered it from I have months to return it so 🤷 who knows
Please, what do you think of the silicone bracelet for the watch? Did you experience any complaint or corrosion? Is the silicone bracelet as practical and can handle the daily lifestyle as the metal bracelet?
You just canot imagine how usefull this watch is for sailing.. the hard thing to do in sailing ...is once you determine the general wind direction you have to determine all your tack and reach bearing........whit this whatch you just have to find the heding of the wind whit a compas and rotate the besel to that heding... and voila !!!! You have all your tack and reach angle just by looking at your wrist.... + is has a regatta timer ....
When I pull the crown for the first step and it is set to CHR, the hands don't center/align (They do move for a while but end up at a different time, they're all pointed up, though). If I continue with the steps, the watch is about an hour and fifteen minutes ahead. Any idea how I can fix this?
Citizen eco drive sky hawk? :- 1) Which colour is the watch light? 2) What is the reason for night light showing red colour? 3) Does it automatically change 1 hour forward or backward automatically without manually setting?
You said you'd go into the "retractable hands" feature, but didn't. What does that even mean? To me, those words imply the hour, minute, and second hands, somehow actually retract somewhere. Like into the watch face or something. That's not really what happens right?
just got mine, the hands do not align on mine even when i go to Chrono and then pull the button out, it only moves like and hour or 2 then stops. I will probably send this thing back
@@maverickwatchreviews Thanks. It arrived today. Great watch. Bought the black and rose gold version. JR4063-12E. It is beautiful. My only wish is to have a bezel that clicks and maybe a light. Great review and instructions. Thanks.
Thanks for reviewing all these "off the beaten path" type of watches. Citizen watches get no love from the typical watch TH-camrs. That said, this watch is fu-uh-uh-ugly. Not for me.
Everytime my watch runs out of power I come back to this video to see how to reset it all, thanks!

Thank you for this watch review, it was very helpful for me to set this watch. A lot easier than trying to understand directions.
Thank you I have found myself referring to this tutorial many times - thank you I'd be lost without it
This is the first thing I had to see after my watch arrived and thank you for helping me set it up within an hour of owing it
You're very welcome. Such a cool watch, enjoy!
Maverick Watch Reviews I just subscribed ! Keep up the hard work thank you for your efforts
Thanks a lot for this video. I have the white dial version of this watch. The details of setting up the watch are really great!!👍
I just bought one today and the video was a life saver. Thank you!
Thanks for the help in setting the watch up I bought mine last Friday your video was the most useful I watched 👍
Glad it helped
Just purchases two of these watches for me and my wife. Was having the damn this time setting the watch. Thanks for the tutorial
Great review!!
I just got my watch today and this video helped soo much.
Keep doing your thing man💪
Just bought mine, Orange with white dial- it is gorgeous!!!

Thank you so much I’ve been lookin*for this video for months because no one has tutorial for this very well explained thank you
You're very welcome! Glad it helped.
I literally watch your video every time I travel, lol. Thanks so much..
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. YOUR TUTORIAL HELPED ME IN A BIG WAY!
I will use the sailor's features. Just in time for my advance navigation bareboat sailing course. Thanks !

Nice watch but would push me into realms way outside my tolerance level of patience? It may well end up getting hurled a very long way? Cheers.
This is a very fun looking watch. It may be a little above my patience level when it comes to set up, but I love it!
Loved not having to read the setup in the manual! Well done!
could you tell why Citizen put PORT on the right side and STARBOARD on the left side

Thank you for showing me how to set the time on my promaster watch
I never would have figured this out without this video haha absolutely awesome, thank you! Love my citizen watches but damn nothing is easy anymore haha
Nice review! The size and the look of this watch looks WAY WAY WAY better than the watch u are wearing !
To get both displays showing the same time select the time zone you want and push the two buttons on the right together it will now have the analog and digital times synced!
“…. This channel’s krazzzzy.” … hahahah love it… … nice job on the review… I’ll buy through your link when I buy😉
Thanks for the kind words!

@@Jay-dp4wzAgreed, their straps, no matter what the material, are fantastic.
I have the blue one. I dont need to time yachts either but i just dug the colors and the screen with the time and date. I want the orange too.
how to see the digital screen in the night?
Thank you for this video!!!! I do not think i could have figured it out with a mini watch manual … ahhaha. Cheers.!!!
How to keep the crown from turning accidentally on its own?
Amazing review man. Im studying buy one. I think is cool watch.
can not LIKE that video enough. thank you soooo much!
Glad it helped!
Great Video!! I found if you spray the watch band with WD40 and wipe it down it makes it much easier to put on and off.
I needed this video, nothing worse than it going dead from lack of light lol
Thx again this is the 2nd time I had to find your vid to set this watch lol seriously tho thx and thank again
I'll get one. I love the color.
Great review I was looking to buy this as my first citizen. But the port and starboard are on wrong side. Port is left starboard right.
The watch is correct, it shows that if you come off the wind to the starboard side you will be on port tack and vice versa.
Hi does this watch have an hourly chime or beep? I own one but was just asking
Still useful, thanks for the tutorial 👍
Great review.
Thank you.
Great review, thank you. I have multiple mudmaster G-Shocks and Seiko watches. The citizen website says the countries on the watch. But my watch is missing ADL. But yours is the best video I've seen on this watch thank you
Thanks so much. Yeah this video seems to be very popular. Glad it helped you out.
can you do unboxing of citizen jr4060 88e ?
How do u lock the crown? i keep accidently Rotating the dial to change the Digital Clock
While trying to swap the time it did not do what yours did in the tutorial...i set it back to UTC and yet the hands did not move at all...

thank you again I watch this video twice a year! lol
I believe it! That's why I made this vid because this thing is so hard to set up. Glad it's helped you!
What is the top right dial from 0 to 60?
Looks awesome
I just ordered one of these as you said based on the looks. I do own a sailboat but still I'm sure none of the functions I'll use. My only concern is the sizing but because of where I ordered it from I have months to return it so 🤷 who knows

I dont see a battery level indicator. Otherwise it looks good.
Great review, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks very helpful
I wish every quartz had a hands reset feature.
Thank you 😊
It would be easier to memorize 24 time zones and their +/- from UTC.

Have you seen a good video of how to set this watch up for a regatta ? I tried looking at a manual, but the one I found doesn't give a lot of info.
@@MichelBertrand unfortunatly no..
Review more quartz dive watches please.
Great job! honestly
Perfect!
Muchas gracias por este video. Me ha funcionando para configurar mi reloj

Oh Mylanta 🤕 My Microwave Oven time setup is a chore . lmao 😂 Patience of a Saint Dude....

It's not watch but trouble. I will need one month for the functions. Beautiful watch but very complicated for me.
thank you
Nice it helped me a lot
Glad it helped
Is the bezel red or orange?
Orange like the strap.
This is a really cool watch have you ever reviewed it?
No, never seen that one before.
What time to shiping to Flórida ? Ty
Huh?
Maverick Watch Reviews i see the watch in Amazon ,would like to know the time of shiping(delivery) to Flórida after buy ...ty
Does it have a backlight?
No
Does this watch take a battery
i cant do this watch too much will send back
Citizen eco drive sky hawk? :-
1) Which colour is the watch light?
2) What is the reason for night light showing red colour?
3) Does it automatically change 1 hour forward or backward automatically without manually setting?
No light!
*_"2) What is the reason for night light showing red colour?"_*
Red light has the least effect on your night vision.
what does the button on the left do. it seems to serve no purpose at all !
It move the hands out off the way!
Is it really true the display doesn't have backlight?
Yes!
You said you'd go into the "retractable hands" feature, but didn't. What does that even mean? To me, those words imply the hour, minute, and second hands, somehow actually retract somewhere. Like into the watch face or something. That's not really what happens right?
I give up,back to AD tomorrow
Absolutely hate setting it,yea looks good
just got mine, the hands do not align on mine even when i go to Chrono and then pull the button out, it only moves like and hour or 2 then stops. I will probably send this thing back
Didyou ever get it to work? Same problem....probably have your original one!
Way too complicated, but a cool looking watch.
Anyone who can adjust the "difficult" G-Shock modules will have no problems with this watch.
Perfect Video!
Does the bezel click? Bidirectional?
No click an yes bi-directional.

Greenwich is in London.
But not in the City of London.
The watch is very complicated and slow setting.........a Casio Gshock is way better......!!!!!!!!
If you want to look like the kids action hero Ben 10
i caant set the time at all hours spent

Nice watch, but this is way to complicated , great tutorial but I don’t have the time or patience for this
More trouble than it's worth!
what do u mean?
it has no problems
Great watch tough as!
Sounds like you're not smart enough to use it.
As a US Navy man the Port and Starboard being on the wrong side pisses me off to no end
They're for showing tack angles.
3rd time back here LOL, this watch is awesome but complex
Can you add a time zone for Winnipeg?
Seriously??? That watch is against modern times....too complex for a simple watch
It's not a simple watch!
Thank you
