It really isn't that much. The game gives you all the tools you need to find them and if you're not just blasting through the game you'll find most of them without going out of your way to do it. I only needed to grab 17 of them after I got the normal ending.
Compared to PITA collectibles in other games, like the feathers in Assassin’s Creed 2 or the Riddler Trophies in the Batman: Arkham games, the rainbow conches were incredibly easy to find. Again, by comparison.
This has heavy parallels to Chrono Trigger's Death Peak scene! (Heavy spoilers for both games down below) Like how Chrono sacrificed himself in the one battle with Lavos, same here happened with Garl taking the hit from Apherul. Like how we used the Chrono Trigger to go back to that moment to take Chrono back and switch him in his place with a doll of him to not disrupt something in time, same here happened where we used the Chronophage to go back in time into that very moment and switched Garl's place for B'st to take the hit for him, albeit nothing of value was lost here as B'st comes back eventually to the party. This is one of a few parallels I noticed between two games and I really loved noticing them. This game is really a great homage to Chrono Trigger.
I love the game but i really dont like the way they did this. Im fine with hiding this behind 60 counches, fine with them using the same idea chrono trigger used almost 30 years ago but if you're going to bring him back then it should be the Garl that was about to get hit that returns not the one who did, drank borowed time and soothed the sleeper. They should be 2 completely different Garls. It should have been a "woah, what happened, where are we, and why is this cloud trpped in a flexible glass jar looking at me funny?" Not "good job guys". i get that they probably did that to not put themselves in a position where Garl's prophecy gets fulfilled by his body double but it just feels fudged the way they kinda wrote him back in, even as secret endings go
This is only available if ye collect all 60 conchs and finish the game once, after that Resh'an will open a path to bring Garl back, as a way to apologize for letting him die, this is a incredible moment, and Garl has his best equipment and his special is the second best after Resh'an. B'st indeed play a great role to save Garl, he was willing to sacrifice himself and he could stand the attack from the Fleshmancer himself and live. All mention it, this event also unlock the true ending of the game, cross fingers for a free DLC and sequel (it deserves it).
@@TheA2P Lame excuse no developer plans to make their game bland it was just simply bad and even this makes it worst they just retcon his death so nothing meaningfull happens in the story
@@TheA2P Respectfully disagree. I doubt that was their plan. If it was, that's a poor plan. So they just said, "Oh! I have an idea. Let's make the ending most players will get underwhelming and disappointing. That way, when they think back on our game, they'll remember it less positively." Plus, I'd argue the true ending seems worse. Bringing Garl back ruins the emotional power and significance of his death. It makes the random stuff you do for him seem pointless.
Awful of them to hide this behind 60 stupid a$$ rainbow conches. I did everything and had 30 conches, once I found out I had to have all 60? Screw that, uninstalled, I’ll watch here and enjoy. Thanks for the upload.
Thank you for the comment but some are hidden behind secret boss fights and you get to unlock the true final boss. I would say keep continuing but wouldn’t push it if you are getting tired of the game.
There's a bird that tells you if you're missing one in a certain location on the map screen. Its not too difficult to find them all if you use that to help you. It'll even tell you when you've found the last one and don't need to search an area again.
Wait, I don't get it, how does Garl remember the "other side" after being brought back? He isn't the Garl who died, they nicked him out of the past before he was hit by the curse! That makes no sense!
I like how zale just walked up and just took him like an item
This game was absolutely delightful to play. I'll admit when I realized we could save Garl, I got teary eyed.
Did they really have to hide this behind all 60 rainbow conches :(
If you really couldnt be bothered to collect all the conches you can use cheat engine
Yep. Already uninstalling and watching it here
Conches are easy to find except for a few of them. Looking up their location online is fine

I cried when he died and i cried when that snare kicks in for his theme
im so glad i came here instead of finishing the conch grind. Thanks for posting the video!
Not planning to do the true final boss?
@@lilfarmboi1081would have if i didn't have to find all 60 of them
@@lilfarmboi1081 I didn't even know that was a thing.... Maybe I'll do it. Being able to fly makes things much easier lol.

Glad i finished the conch quest without spoilers. Getting Garl back made me teary eyed.
The cookie Jar is the Chrono Trigger.
That’s awesome, but terrible to hide that in the extra post game content most people don’t play that.
The true ending only for the deserving
@@ZabZabZabie can I get a true ending? +Pulls conch string+
MAGIC CONCH: *No*
gotta earn it to show that you're dedicated to the game and its characters
Incredible!!! It's possible to continue playing after this? All chars are together now!! =)
My bad thought i comented before. Yes you can.
Amazing!!!
Amazing game, such rare to see such masterpiece art nowadays.
Where's the hook of time though? There's no mention of it afterwards and Garl didn't give me anything after I spoke with him on camp.
Thanks for uploading this, now I don't have to play through more repetitive stuff

Just finished the game i was at lvl 20.
Same here 😊
The scene which is reserved for real players who do not rush the game. 😎 Thanks Sabotage to reward completionists guys. 😊

I've wondered if it's possible to do this on a first playthrough if you already know what to do.
It’s not, it won’t activate until you “beat the game” even if you have everything.
How did you find the docarrie to light one of the rocks?
Docarrie? Docarria had the 60 rainbow shells quest to light one of the rocks.
Do you mean docarrie location or something else.
What!? 😢I don’t remember this?!

😮So you need a purple Stone?! I don’t get it?! Am I missing something??
Need to pick up all the rainbow shells, fight like 3-4 hidden bosses and that will open.
Well that would have made the wet fart of the ending better. I wish that this wasn't post game content.
That's the point. The devs knew what they were doing and wanted to incentivize doing side quests by making the normal ending super bland.

I think the idea is that his soul remembered, it has just been out of his body watching the adventure while he was dead.
