Hey this is a great video! In general, it makes me happy to see Sea of Stars-themed content out there, and it's also a good recap of the events in the game and little lore thingies :) One thing I would point out thought, is that Aephorul and Resh'an weren't just friends, but actually lovers, that became immortal to escape until society became more accepting. I understand people not much in the know wouldn't know that, because this isn't information actually presented in the game, but in Sabotage Studio's ARG, where Resh'an himself joined their Discord server years ago and told us tidbits of lore about what SOS would become and stuff about the Saboverse as a whole. It's documented on The Messenger Wiki, day 15th of February 2019, and I in general would recommend giving a read on the ARGs and Tidbits because they have some very neat information! I hope this doesn't sound negative, because this is some very good stuff, and I really hope you do more stuff like this in the future :)
I think Resh'an was in sae'ri world but before the time split. That's where the birthday gift scene takes place with the eagle. It's how the bird people knew resh'an. IMO
What is also interesting to me is the fact that The Messenger is basically one big time loop, with the same time shards as Resh'an created in the little stop-time moment when Aephorul attacked Garl. It's been a while since I've completed The Messenger, so I don't remember all the details, but: who created this time loop? was it Resh'an? Was it Aephorul, trying to recreate what Resh'an did in Sea of Stars? There are so many open questions and I'm very eager to see what Sabotage Studios has in store for us
It's been so long but if I remember correctly, there was a couple a long time ago in The messenger. When the demons attacked the kingdom of the giants they had to defend the humans. The woman died and the man confronted the evil boss but was defeated. He had to put on a mask that made him mad and cursed humanity to be attacked every 500 years. But, while being manipulated, the man managed to create a message that needed to be given to each generation in order to break the curse. So I don't think the time loop was made by the alchemists. I might be mistaken.
Just finished the first ending. Just an awesome game. 10/10. Graphics, Music, Story (specially) - After intermission the story picks up and gets very interesting. Definitely looking for a part 2.
Thanks for compiling this, I needed a refresher on these 2 for a brain-worm that's been in my head ever since I played this game. I had Aephorul's part mostly done but needed a bit of help with Resh'ans. Idek if it will ever see the light of day, but I do want to flex my creativity every once in a while
Bro you really did a great job and keep on explaining games stories and one day you will blow up (maybe try chained echoes next because that one has a really solid and out of the box story).
Thanks so much! I really enjoy a great story and have always loved sharing in it with other people! Thanks for the idea, I'll give Chained Echoes a look!
Bro you're goated for putting this together. I'm trying to put a dnd campaign together using Sabotage's universe. Bookmarking this instantly. Do you think you'll make a video speculating on events that occur between SoS and The Messenger?
Thanks, I really enjoyed making it! A dnd campaign using Sabotage's universe sounds amazing! That's a good idea, I'll have to brush up on the events between SoS and The Messenger and get working on it!
SO , ait first, i thought when Rash'an pulls the timelines back together, he misses something important and it becomes the Messengers timeline, there are two obvious flaws with this though, 1- you visit Serai's broken world in that game meaning the timelines arent back together or the Fleshmaancer did something as a failsafe and destroyed time (maybe the demon lords as Brungraves is one of them) 2. The dwellers still exist. Meaning that maybe a new pact had been made between the alchemists, i dont really know, im worried that maybe sabotage painted themselves into a corner here and retcons need to be made- or we could be looking at a FF14 or Steins;Gate situation here. What do u all think?
I got the feeling Zale and Valere are now patrolling ALL the timelines in search of dwellers and world eaters
You haven’t played the messenger, have you…
I need a sea of stars 2 or dlc, this game is beautiful
Well an DLC is in the making and it will combine the worlds of Sea of Stars and the Messenger
@@AkorBestoffI knew a DLC was coming, but if it combines both worlds, it's even better

Thank you for this clear explanation as it would have taken me forever to figure this out on my own. Great editing as well!
I'm glad the explanation was helpful for you!
