They removed IBIS so its jittery, No 4K60, F4 aperture, and weird ugly color profiles really ruined this one. Physically they made some great improvements and added a few interesting features but when it comes to image quality they dropped the ball. Too many compromises. The original ZV1 just needed better stabilization without a crop and a wider lens.
it needs some GOPRO HERO 11 Black processing features, e.g. Hypersmooth 5, 10-bit colors, 120 Mbps or better 200 Mbps, for me 2.7K 60fps 10 bits HLG is enough, also custom LUTS applied in real time would be really nice.
Great video can you please do a lessons on how to use the camera and the settings and how to change on the fly with touching the correct things to get great videos and photos. Thanks 🙏🏻 smile 😊 I just picked one up and want to be upto speed soon. Please assist Did you have the latest firmware 2 updated in this model I don’t think so back then right. Still great footage. Likely the firmware helped the camera exposure to mode choices
Hi! when you guys were shooting while filming, were you using the Sony Shooting Grip or another tripod? If you don't mind, is it possible to know the specific tripod you were using?
Thank you a lot for your gorgeous video! After this video, I changed my mind and thought of keeping my camera Sony ZV-1 Mark II and not changing to another camera.
Im not sure about these bokeh backgrounds. Watching vlogs i prefer to see the background. I would like to hear from someone who has a go pro as to wether a go pro is actually a better option for travel vlogging, or is the zv2? I think the only benefit of it is improving image quality but isn't the go pro good enough and much easier to use, and much cheaper?
Around this range I would compare with GoPro and iPhone as well. To me, iPhone gives the best image quality overall in many different situations, you get an ultra wide, wide and tele lens, not to mentioned as good stabilisation as GoPro. Having owned the ZV1, I decide to sell it because it was too much effort for the image quality. If I wanted to spend this kind of effort operating the camera, transferring the files, editing the files on my computer, I would be using my full frame cameras. I liked that it was small and easy to use, but I felt that the convenience of phones really outweighs any advantages the ZV1 has, which I can only think of one - Natural thin depth of field (which is not what you want anyways). If you are comparing ZV1/ZV2 vs GoPro, both can swap batteries, ZV wins in audio, GoPro wins in stabilisation by far, GoPro has higher frame rates, is cheaper, can take cheaper micro sd cards, is water and shock proof, can be mounted in more ways, the list goes on. If you are out and about, and not shooting much close ups, the GoPro will be the winner anytime. I am staying away from GoPros however, due to overheating. Would get a DJI osmo action 3 instead, it has come a long way after a few much improved software updates. Consider insta360 x2/x3 as well, you need to put in the work in editing but the result is quite rewarding.
@@bikecuberdoggy Thanks for the detailed update. I must agree 💯% with you. However I forgot to mention the Nikon z 30 camera which seems to be even cheaper than the zv1 MK2 and better. I probably would use one of those if I didn't already have something like an iPhone 14 Pro, for example. Cheers.
@@spirittravels. I would recommend the Sony ZV-E10 for an interchangeable lens camera, incredible camera for the money. But having owned so many different cameras, I am likely to be bringing a phone or action cam for travel, unless I am going alone or it is a dedicated photography trip. Because gear not only bogs down yourself but also your companions. Cheers! :)
I purchased the ZV-1 Mark II 2 weeks ago and I really regret it. The stabilization is very poor. To get any good footage the camera has to be on a tripod or gimbal. Even my old Hero 7 works better. It is billed as a Vlog camera. I will not Vlog with it. I am going back to Gopro. The only advantage it the rear facing screen so you can easily and zoom lens. The front screen on my Hero is good enough to center my face. Most of the time I Vlog with wide angle so the zoom lens is pointless and a waist of money. Maybe I will keep it in my pocket for still photos but not Vlogging.
For the price of this get the older ZV-1 and a cheap gimbal like Zhiyun M2 and you'll be much better than this Jittery hell! better even vlog with an Iphone or an Action cam. As viewers would like to see what's around! Not to mention the ugly sony color profiles!
@@GeekCulture superior by having no optical ibis and being 50mm with the very slow F4 or removing the slow mo? Just sell this get zv1 with a zhiyun m2s and you're golden. Stabe? Solved by gimbal, small battery? the gimbal has reverse charge. need a bit of a light? m2s has good fill light. Both of zv-1 and gimbal are cheaper than this ugly cam. the only good thing in zv-1 mark 2 is the wider 18 which is not wide enough as well it should've been 16 or less equivalent so it amounts to a wider angle when cropped as hell by the digital active stabe

Thank you for the review! It was informative! 🙌
Which mode were you using throughout the vlog ? It looks good.
Cine mode
When you were walking did you stabilize with any software?
No. This is with the handgrip and camera
Awesome video. I loved how you used it in the real world instead of giving us specs. It was a tad shakey though. Was digital IBIS on in this footage?
Thanks for watching. Yes digital ibis was on the entire time. You will get some shake for sure but I felt it less jarring than the first ZV1.
@@GeekCulture yes, a lot better than the ZVE-10! thanks

Hi. I was using the Sony shooting grip for most of what you see.
Hey, mind if i ask how can you add music in your videos to avoid copywrite? :0
Thanks for this video which helps a LOT in confirming the stabilization of the new ZV-1 Mark II is terrible.
Didn’t find it that bad considering the size
True. Smartphone ftw.
This video was amazing 😍
Amazing and informative 👌
Thank you ✨
Thanks for watching
you definitely sold me !
Thank you a lot for your gorgeous video! After this video, I changed my mind and thought of keeping my camera Sony ZV-1 Mark II and not changing to another camera.
Thanks for watching. It’s a good camera when used to its strengths
if the last half of the footage is straight out of camera without any post, then this camera is good enough.
The entire video is recorded with the ZV1 II
I want one

I can’t believe this camera is $1000 lol bro the footage looks like phone footage or worse
😍

Sony should be embarrassed. The stabilization is garbadge. They better have a firmware fix. It's 2023.
It’s not bad actually considering. I found it on par of not better in some ways than the first ZV1

Reality is any camera this size will produce jitters. This is a superior camera to the original ZV-1 in many ways.

Disagree but we all have our opinions
