The snooker player with chalk over his face is Tam. Glad you're trying this. I hate the first series when they're talking but the sketches are good. It improves in season 2. Cheers bro
Great reaction glad you got on to this. Stick with it. It gets better as it goes on. Everybody in Scotland was saying all the catchphrases and jokes from it when it was on. Its the reason Still Game did so well,we already new what to expect.
As a massive fan of still game I never got into chewing the fat there is another Scottish sketch show called burnistoun which in my opinion is much funnier anyway I still clicked on the video and liked 😁👍🏴.
Ronald Villiers was just brilliant. In the first Ronald Villiers sketch, the woman is Karen Dunbar, who had her own sketch show. Her most memorable character was old Betty who told stories of days during the second world war which always ended up with her having sex. Coincidentally, Sir William, aka, Billy Connolly reached the grand old age of 80, just a couple of days ago.
Glad you liked it. It gets better as it goes. Still skits in it I'm not a fan of, but it's an old favourite. When you asked if that was Winston at the table. It was... that was tam beside him. When I suggested this show, I should have warned you that it's very Scottish with its words. Very slang
Loved Ronald the actor, he did one where he was being interviewed in the street, classic! Only saw a few of these, I never saw them repeated, but loved the few i did.
Absolutely was another good Scotish sketch show. I think some of the cast carried over to chewin the fat. I always remember the Stoney bridge council meetings and promotional videos.. Funny
Series 1 & 4 are the weakest Series 2 & 3 are the best They got rid of the flat scenes with Greg and Ford and just focused more on the skits. Also Jack & Victor are in this but appear at random times throughout each episode of each series.
If you want to see the origins of Still Game have a look at 'Still game live at the cottiers theatre 1999' which is great acting in front of an audience. It is on TH-cam and is very good.
you're going into the deep end with chewin the fat mate, it's not for the feint of heart, pure scottish you probably have no idea what they're saying 90% of the time :D
It’s impossible to react to this or still game and not do a Scottish accent though! I don’t think I’ve managed a full episode/single reaction where I couldn’t resist doing an impression! Mind you I’m actually pretty decent at is because i have an acting background. I reckon Squirrel should check out scotch and wry. In reacting to it myself at the moment and it’s probably the best sketch show I’ve seen since little Britain.
@@YorkshiremanReacts26, Scotch and Wry is peak Scottish comedy. I'm not saying don't do a Scottish accent, just don't do a shit parody. It's eyeroll material.
I'll be honest. The first series is not the best. The characters are all there of course and will continue. It got much better and far more popular from series two onwards where they completely ditched the talking in the flat sequence and it became a sketch show only. Like all sketch shows there will be hits and misses but there are some real miniature gems.
It is indeed a precursor to Still Game. How young they all look. A young Tam was there as well as Winston. 👏🏻🐿️🏴

You've nailed this. Keep watching to get the repeating characters and to see how they develop.

Where have you gone?? You’ve just disappeared from the channel.
Ford does a very passable English accent at 20:00 but Greg's Canadian accent is very noticeable.
Loved seeing the birth of the Still game characters.
You can really hear Greg Hemphill's Canadian accent coming through
Yes it was Winston in the Bowling Club, with Tam next to him.
Ronald Villiers was just brilliant.

Once the team found the format for the show it was brilliant

That’s all you heard in Glasgow for ages. Gony no dae that - how how 😂
Always watched this for Ronald Villiers.
And before ‘Chewin the fat’..... there was ‘Absolutely’ and it was great too 😉
Mark Cox (Tam) was really funny in the snooker sketch, really young, hehe!
8:08 tam and winston sat at the table
Yes my man squirell please continue to react to chewin the fat
You should also take a look at 🏴 comedy, Rab C. Nesbit starring Gregor Fisher as a workshy, alcoholic, Glasgow Philosopher.

none of the cast from absolutely are in chewin the fat
Excellent
Yip Winston and Tam too.
Chewin the fat is great they should bring Chewin The Fat back.
Yeah the series definitely gets better once they find their feet
If you are ever going to react to more episodes of chewin the fat you should watch the best of chewin the fat i think you will like that better.

The early creation of Jack and Victor had Bobby the barman play Winston:)

Your Scottish accent sounds very um...
I think I'll leave it there haha.
