One of my faves of the show. The large crisp things Mina was carrying are called Poppadoms. They are usually eaten along with a Curry. In March 1971 me and my brother had a photo taken and we both had matching shirts and the ties matched the shirts. It was the 70s.
I can remember as a child in the 70's my Auntie coming home with a Vesta Meal which back then was trendy at the time. My cousins (brothers) also had matching shirts/ties usually with the big collars.
Who else remembers in the 1970s, trying to open and pour a Party Seven, 7 pint can of beer without the proper tap attachment? Or opening homemade beer, brewed in recycled swing top bottles in your bedroom? When Newcastle Brown came in actual pint sized bottles. Mines a lager top, or a larger and lime. Happy days.. 😆
That was so funny. Still love Navid and Meena who crack me up with how they always manage to keep her face hidden. This time behind the pakora and poppadom party platter and the Top of The Pops album. All those reminders of the 70's were there including the Avocado bathroom suite, loud wallpaper, Nylon frilly shirts and maxi dresses (and the static you got from them), Martinis, fibre optic lamps to name a few. Classy Craiglang!
Aww what a lovely surprise ~ a wee Hogmanay gift. Last night on Hogmanay I waited up till the bells and saw in the New Year, watched a movie and woke myself up so much it was 5am on New Year's day (Ne'erday) when I went to bed lol. Thanks for showing this Hogmanay special, it really is one of the best, and a very thoughtful gift from yourself. Happy New Year!!
That was a bl00dy old tin of Roses - the s0ddin things are HALF that size now and made of plastic and every chocolate is overpacked in a bubble twice as big as the chocolate itself, so it LOOKS like a full box but it's HALF an already halved box.
The pakora jack was gobbling up have become a core after drinking snack/meal in Scotland I remember my best friend in 1999 being furious when he found the Indian restaurant in Hampshire where we lived had no idea what it was. This became one of the best drinking stories of my life. A 5ft tall drunken Glaswegian arguing with tall Indian chef about his own cultures food. Resulting in the chef trying to make something from a vague incoherent description.
Man, look at all the comments! One of my all time favourites. It's great seeing them young. Tam looking slick! Thanks for that great surprise. Happy Hogmanay to you and yours!
Love how you're linking multiple sources from different British shows and stand ups. You're really getting our humour, and it's coming naturally to you without thinking. I hope yer years off to a great start, Slàinte Mhath 🥃lang may yer lum reek
What’s up my friend. I have just subscribed to your channel. Your a cool guy and I love all the stuff you put up on your channel. My name is Eamonn and I’m Irish from Ireland. Now this show called still game is amazing and so so funny too. I didn’t know about this show on till my mother told me about it. She is Scottish from Scotland and came to Ireland and met the love of her life my father and he is Irish. ☘️. And from the very first episode I haven’t looked back. I have watched every single one of still game. And sometimes I would look at them again . Because there just so funny. Still game is LEGEND . This one I’m whatching with you now is so so so funny. 😂😂😂. Well my friend it’s nice to send you my comment. And also I want to wish you and all your family a very happy new year. In 2023. Have a good day friend. Eamonn. 🇮🇪☘️☘️☘️🇺🇸👏👏👏✌️✌️✌️
This was perfectly timed and what a treat . Ive seen this so many times but never enjoyed as much as watching your reaction to it. I laughed so hard ,This one really knocked it out the park and its amazing to see them as their younger selves , it really cements the characters in time and I promise you'll come back to this episode time and again, I only wish they would bring still game back as a spin off show at this or any Age as we know the characters so well . The series and particularly this episode , it just gets funnier on the rewatch . Much love squirrel you have become a staple of my favorite viewing time. Happy new year or HogManee to you and eachYAS !
A bit of trivia. In 2011 a Hurricane passed through Scotland. It was named Hurricane Bawbag. Makes you proud to be Scottish. See en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Bawbag

In Scotland Tom and Tam are both short for Thomas. Shug is used for people named Hugh.
