I have no idea what all this fishing lingo is but I love it. I use a 20 year old ugly stick with a 15 year old spinner and mostly go wacky. Hearing all this fish science excites me. Keep it up man love the videos!
I use five poles too! T-rig (baitcaster : 12lb mono) chatterbait/jig (baitcaster : 15lb floro) crankbait/topwater (baitcaster : 10/lb mono) finesse (spinning : 8lb floro) finesse (spinning : 8lb mono) I keep all my poles at 6.5 ft to keep me out of overhanging tree branches in my kayak. I keep all my lines less than 17 lb test because I want to be able to break a line if I get in trouble and accidently create an anchor in my kayak. You rock flukemaster!
About year and a half ago I got back into fishing. On of your videos popped up on youtube and I was instantly hooked. (no pun intended). Bought my first fishing kayak and have stuck to 13 fishing rods and reels. Shortly after my wife got into fishing with me with her own kayak and we have had a blast ever since. Thank you for your content. Cheers 🍻
Hey FlukeMaster, I’d really like to see you do a minimalist video. 1 backpack, two 3600 tackle boxes, a small soft plastic binder, one spinning rod, and 2 Bait- casterS. For bass on bank and boat, all purpose all season. Thanks for the great videos. I’ve turned my father and Brother in law onto fishing this summer with your videos. For Father’s Day we all got the same set ups. 1 bag, 2 3600 boxes and a soft bait binder thing). Keep up the great work.
Thanks for this info, tight work man! I wrote down when you said Meta 7'3 w/ Inception G2 8:3:1 and then after the clip around the stumps on 22# that held, you said Slide 2. I'm saving for a hvy and I'm sure I couldn't go wrong with either but is one better for a beginner on a casting reel? I backlashed in elementary school and went back to my Snoopy. I'm sure I could knot up a Cane Pole! EDIT: I see the Inception has the G2 and Slide models along with, what I guess to be, an OG Inception? Which I just found on yer TackleWarehouse link for $70! That tells me I found my answer for a learnin' reel! Thanks again, stay well, sir!
My fives : 6'10'' ML spinning rod (ned, light jig heads, light in-line spinner) 7'2'' MH spinning rod (jerkbait, topwater) 6'10'' M baitcasting rod (crankbait, jerkbait, most stuff treble hook) 7'2'' MH baitcasting rod (trig, skirted jig, chatterbait) 7'2'' XH baitcasting rod (heavy spoon, swimbait) Slowly getting better at baitcaster, I have the habit of years of spinning rods so I tend to whip by baitcaster a lot, which lead to a LOT of backlash. Sometime I even add a M spinning rod to all this stuff because I like spinning tackle so much :D
Thanks Gene! Question since you know 13 well... did you ever fish the Omen Black (gen 3)? Just picked a couple up on a dang good deal, but never tried them... 😬
What is your opinion of the shakespeare excursion rod in medium power as a beginner/extra bait casting rod.Thank you for the awesome educational videos.
So i have to ask, I've got a ascend 133x, and it's a decently large kayak I have a small trailer for however going down the road it's small so bumps bang it around alot, fully loaded my kayak is impossible to move, what's the best way to transport a kayak with it somewhat loaded, cuz I'm afraid of it breaking and stuff but setting up takes me almost 10 15 minutes it feels like, what's the best way to transport it or how do u transport yours since yours is... way more junk, all Ober it... I say junk outa pure jealousy 🤣
you know im having no luck on chatterbaits is it because im using wrong rod ill be honest im using the dobyns kaden series is for spinnerbaits also so im thinking is good for chatter baits anybody know any rod also on a budget
That's what I prefer over a heavy rod just because it can double as a pretty solid deadbait/swimbait rod for pike. Work plenty fine for big weights trig and frog.
1. 6'-9 medium fast spinning 2. 7'-3 heavy fast 3. 7'-4 medium heavy moderate 4. 7'-4 medium heavy fast 5. 7'-3 medium heavy/medium moderate Solid recommendations. Maybe if I buy all these rods I'll be motivated enough to get my ass in the yak.

Bro you're fishing the way you know and that's awesome.

I've come back to reference this video at least half a dozen times since it came out. I love these types of videos thanks for the buyers' guide, man💯💯
Nice to see more content popping up. Would love to see a full Envy Black 3 review.
Fluke, can you share what poles you mount your cameras on, and how you mount them to your boat, kayak, etc?
Thanks!

Thanks for the information. I have one other rod which is a 8 foot heavy action which I use for fishing in canals.
Gene, another good video! When did you stop using a co-poly line for some applications, and why? Thanks.
Great video and even greater insight. Thank for sharing your experience and knowledge.
I noticed the medium fast action casting rod is missing. I remember it was your favorite rod at one point. Is this because of differences in brands?
As a bank fisher man I keep a 6 foot medium 6’6” MH,5’6 mL, need a good 7’2” frog pole/top water,and a spinner rod for finesse.
Thanks buddy appreciate all tips on rods and reels. Man I learned something new everyday from watching your channel. 🤙🏼
Can you do a video on line. Fishing line? On what sinks, floats
th-cam.com/video/DGC8Ti345Kk/w-d-xo.html
Go Dawgs! Got a sport z reel the other day and it doesn’t seem to free spool very well? Haven’t fished it yet but I hope it will cast ok.
My fives :
6'10'' ML spinning rod (ned, light jig heads, light in-line spinner)
7'2'' MH spinning rod (jerkbait, topwater)
6'10'' M baitcasting rod (crankbait, jerkbait, most stuff treble hook)

7'2'' XH baitcasting rod (heavy spoon, swimbait)
Slowly getting better at baitcaster, I have the habit of years of spinning rods so I tend to whip by baitcaster a lot, which lead to a LOT of backlash. Sometime I even add a M spinning rod to all this stuff because I like spinning tackle so much :D
How much for that Georgia Bulldog hat?
Thanks Gene!

Which one would you be throwing a fluke on?
Got 4 Fate Black rods for $100 total today at a local sporting goods store. Pumped to get them on the water!
Solid information. Fun delivery too!
Hey there love the video! Where did you get the knife on your vest?

Is there anywhere that tells what various types of 13 fishing products (fate, inception, etc) specialize in - their website is bit confusing
Love the videos, I’d be really interested in you going over your kayak, what brand and any customization that you’ve done to it.
He has made a video about it
I looked and I couldn’t find one, all I could find was about his sonar and the kayak cart he uses, I’ll have to look again!
Great advice and video Gene. Keep doin what you do... Appreciate ya......
Im only 5’4” and those really long rods are hard for me. Should I just learn to use them or adjust down some.
Let’s go! Always a great day when you post!
What lake are fishing?
you know im having no luck on chatterbaits is it because im using wrong rod ill be honest im using the dobyns kaden series is for spinnerbaits also so im thinking is good for chatter baits anybody know any rod also on a budget
Thank you, great info, and stick some.
Good list to work towards.
Great choices Sir
Yeh baby! MHF Medium Heavy (power) Fast (action)
Falcon Lowrider MHF 7' best ever
Zebco 33 on a 6 foot medium rod all you need catch anything!
Sure.
I have a 7’3” xh rod that’s a moderate-fast do you think I’d be fine for bigger jigs and Texas rigs?
It would work if that's what you got. Might be a little on the stiff side if you're picky.
That's what I prefer over a heavy rod just because it can double as a pretty solid deadbait/swimbait rod for pike. Work plenty fine for big weights trig and frog.
You don’t use your own 13 fishing kayak rod??
I didn't design those rods.
How did you get a 8.3:1 g2. The highest speed is 7.3:1
I'm dyslexic so numbers aren't my strong point.
1. 6'-9 medium fast spinning
2. 7'-3 heavy fast
3. 7'-4 medium heavy moderate
4. 7'-4 medium heavy fast
5. 7'-3 medium heavy/medium moderate
Solid recommendations. Maybe if I buy all these rods I'll be motivated enough to get my ass in the yak.
It would be helpful to see the reels in view instead of from the pole side. I want to see the reel
Good show mister
Go Dogs!
GO DAWGS!!!!
I think it's so weird to see all of that stuff sticking up out of that kayak. Might as well use a boat!
