I have a feeling there is a fourth way this could end hear me out; Matt made it clear last cooldown that even if Bells Hells are TPK’d that the other heroes will have the opportunity to do what they could not BUT that it would be significantly worse. This given the stakes at hands can only mean one thing that a consequence of Bells Hells being TPK’d WILL be the second calamity, the gods will pop off out of panic.
what I predict will happen but hope won't because it's not interesting :
- Liliana doesn't die because bell's hells get there in time to save her otherwise laura would be upset, but she doesn't help with the fight
- either Orym or Chetney die in the final fight
- they kill good ol' Luda, laudna somehow counterspells his strongest spells
- predathos is released and liliana tries to be the vessel, they use the Matron's mask to somehow help her have enough power to pull it off
- Gods gone, doesn't matter if dead or ran away
- Exandria somehow is not effected by this should be world shattering event so everyone's okay
If they fail and all die... the world will become so unique. That seems the most interesting. Least interesting is the just kill Ludiness, but still not boring.
Awakening titans sounds SO COOL! I didn't even realize that would be a path.
@@peter_schomus the way the world could change if the bad guys win is truly interesting the endless possibilities to reshape the world it would basically be resetting everything.
While I’ll miss what we have now with the current exandria. a new world wouldn’t be totally horrible to have with the remnants of the old being there to be discovered
They have been playing in the sane setting across 3 interconnected campaigns for a decade. All good things come to an end and with the release of DH and dnd 2024 I can see a desire and/or necessity for change. Regardless of how things end there is nothing wrong with the CR crew getting a fresh start into something new instead of beating a dead horse.
@@derekcorman2112 except it’s not a dead horse there’s still a lot to see according to Matt and they love this world my worry is they don’t fall in love with whatever world comes next and it becomes forced

@@michellemahar9030 I don’t think it’s sad, I take spoilers very seriously. I don’t even watch movie or tv show trailers anymore
i think it is the end. the fact both VM and MN were pretty much trimmed up and expedited to assure they were both two-shots. such a structured nature makes me feel like ludinus wont make it out of the next two episodes, or if he does, it will be because predathos becomes the immediate threat, likely dealt with or victorious within 4-5 episodes max. Not sure that will be the last episode but i think the final arc is ending before January’s over.

God I hope so. Campaign 3 has been such a rollercoaster of quality
Unless they want to wrap this campaign up sooner than later there is a 0% chance of them just "winning" the campaign with the fight. It's going to be similar to the solstice fight where they "win" the objective and Matt still moves things in the direction he wants it to go. The gods are set into place. The angels and demons are on the move. Predathos is there. Etc. Matt has refused to show all his cards. We are not in the final act yet.
Also them just collecting titan powers would be weird, because there is a lore reason why those two in play were even obtainable.
Three episodes ago Matt did mention that depending on how things go VM could return.
Even if Exandria survives I'd like a new campaign setting for campaign 4 just for sake of variety.
Matt mentioned the underwater cities which may have a lot of potential as a setting.
If Matt ends this at this final episode, I guess it would make sense given there is no more danger. But my writer side is itching as if there possibly might be something Matt might do as the Final Plot Twist of the story. However in context wise, there definitely seems more like a chance that this next episode will be part one of the final battle, and then maybe the next week is the true final episode, where Ludinus in the middle of combat actually releases Predathos. But I'll stop for now as its too early to tell what Matt is cooking in his head.
@@v3l638 he is a big fan of final fantasy and there’s always a true boss at the end of those games so I think we’ll be getting more
I’m still wondering if Imogen or Fearne will become a vessel or who knows Matt Mercer might pull the rug from under us and it’ll someone entirely different to be a vessel

I think there is a scenario where they kill Ludinus and stop Predathos and the campaign does continue on for a few more episodes because there was that conversation with the Matron about renegotiating a status quo… so if Matt has some sort of behind the scenes entity to try to rise up in the meantime that keeps that threat of Predathos and the gods up… C3 could go on into the spring to end up somewhere around the anniversary.
Yea it seems rather odd that the ending is coming up as quickly as it feels like it is I definitely think something is gonna happen and we push on for a few more months
@@ZodiacBandit this campaign has been too focused on the gods’ effect on the world for that to not be addressed and everything to remain status quo… at minimum if they stop everything there will hopefully still be negotiations with the pantheon
@@krystleurban7345 I may have worded it poorly in the video I didn’t mean it just ends full stop after the fight I just meant it would be over within the next episode or 2 vs like 8-10 more yes that should be dealt with and so should the character wrap ups for all the groups involved c1 c2 and c3
@@ZodiacBandit GOTCHA. Yes, that would make sense. My prediction is mid-120s for episodes myself.
There is no way Predathos is not released, all good stories end with a change to the status quo, and Predathos is definitely a Chekov's gun scenario that has to end with a big climax and change.
Also, I hope Vox Machina and the M9 don't come back for the rest of the campaign, they ended their episodes in great places and C3 needs to give Bells Hells the spotlight they deserve.

I'm one of t hose people that genuinely does not think that Critical Role will be leaving D&D for Daggerheart. Feel like majority of its playerbase and the viewship is surrounded around them playing D&D. Believe Daggerheart will be used in some one-shots here and there, but the main campaigns will always remain D&D related. As there is a lot of things in D&D you can do but can't do in Daggerheart.
But for the end of the campaign, we are definitely nearing the end of it. We're on episode 116 soon to be 117, and next episode is simply Bell's Hells getting to where Ludinius is located. So I believe the series will likely end at 119. However as someone commented down below, this group ended up talking only to the ones that want Predathos to be freed. So there may be something there for the story to continue close to 130.
Also, if Imogeon or Fearne were to take up Predathos, we don't know what could happen. They could turn into the big bad that their friends would have to stop.
@@Austin123. i certainly hope you’re right on your daggerheart assumption the reason i started watching critical role was I wasn’t playing enough dnd in my life and needed more they filled the void I hope they don’t change

@@Austin123. I’m right there too.. switching over from the Kleenex of ttrpgs to a brand new system even if they did write the ruleset in-house is an insane risk to take. It’s far more likely Daggerheart becomes a secondary campaign to me, specifically because their main focus since the beta has been on collaborative world-building. Exandria has already had 12 years of world-building under 5e rules.
don't think they gonna switch to Daggerheart, system is so different and don't have much tools for wholesome story
the tool for story comes from the cast and to doubt what mercer can do is wild when it comes to story telling.
the only reason why i want the gods gone is for chetney to rise up as the god of arts and crafts.
no but seriously, in the last cooldown matt said that other heroes could rise (aka M9 because they're the ones on ruidus) depending if and how BH are defeated.

I stopped watching cool down for a few reasons mainly there’s a lot of people who don’t have it and I feel like sharing the extra bit of knowledge is a bit unfair to others. the other reason I stopped watching it is I feel like it answers to many questions, I had no idea Matt said that and I’m glad I didn’t it’s almost a spoiler to me

I gave up so many episodes ago. I think ep 39 was the last episode I finished. Campaign 1 was a group of unfit heroes, campaign 2 was an edgy-fest, campaign 3 started off with so many goof characters besides Imogen and I just couldn't be bothered with a show where I only enjoy one character.
@@Jhakri_ Orym and Ashton are far from good characters and there’s times where the others grow out of good status Chet and fcg come to mind where they show rather mature moments but if you didn’t like it by episode 39 then i guess it just wasn’t for you
@ZodiacBandit yeah the moon mysteries were the big thing that kept me watching, but they took some time off from weekly episodes back then, and once the weekly habit of watching broke it never came back
@ they still take the last week off every month I wish they’d change that but hey it’s up to them
