I love how the wizard was consistently badass across all of her incarnations and that the first one decided she was a kickflipping bard divorcee and the rest of the chat accepted it as canon.
Everyone actually collectively voted on the character’s personalities at the start of the stream. They all chose her to be bard’s ex wife and really good at kickflipping
The kickflipping actually came from an earlier stream where Doug tested out the dice roll, character images, and character voices software in preparation for this stream. The person chosen to be the wizard there asked to do a kickflip after the bard repeatedly failed to, and then Doug rolled a 20, meaning she did the sickest kickflip ever seen. Chat of course remembered this and at the start of this stream voted for her to be really good at kickflips as a result.

bro, Barbarian kicked a lot of butts as he took down multiple opponents, he finished off the hot pocket on the first floor, and then he manages to defeat the faker by trying to punch himself and the mannequin, the Bard had some pretty legendary moments of his own, such as when he made the mannequin to commit sudoku, emotionally damages the Chicken Nuggie, and then saving his wife from the Roomba by grabbing the dead mop and then impaling the Roomba with it. All of them are quite legendary in their own right. Gotta admit though, saving the bard by just bluntly kicking him was way more in character and had me dying.
Man I have a crazy story. In one campaign, we were transported to Victorian England. During part of the game, we had to interact with the queen to get home. Our Minotaur somehow convinced her that he was her husband, tortured at the hands of the Spanish. She decides to go to war with France. We then take her with us to the final fight with the bbbeg, who had a sphere that could turn people into gods. My character rolled a nat 20 to convince him that I would side with him as long as I got to look at the sphere. I grabbed it, turned us all into gods, then we banished the BBEG. The Minotaur and the God-Queen went back and conquered the entire world. The campaign may have been derailed a tiny bit.
Damn so you watched at most 7 minutes of the video and said this. I guess 7 minutes of intro is all you need to know what happens for the entire hour. Edit: Yeah watching the stream makes sense. Damn.
1:12:05 I cannot stress enough how amazing this was, Barbarian the "very stupid bro" in the most tense moment come up with an idea and wizard reassuring him to go with it and it actually works and also manages to take down Porky has to be the hypest moment in the history of the DougDoug Cinematic Universe
If Walmart wasn't sentient, it would have crumbled down and crushed everyone, being sentient made it structurally sounded and gave enough time for them to run out alive. It was a genius idea from chat actually.
I'm actually impressed at how well designed the Walmart dungeon is. Difficulty progression is on point, and every floor has unique mechanics which keep things interesting. It's inspiring, really. And "Cleanup on isle 5" was one of the most badass action hero one-liners I've heard in recent years. Great players all around!

@@appelofdoom8211 good call. bard never got any clutch moments of his own, but his healing did keep the team alive. all three of them were needed to succeed
This story is incredible. At first glance, it seems like a boring story of three adventurers following a basic storyline, but after watching, you find that it’s so much more. To begin with, Porky’s eventual betrayal is expertly foreshadowed, so subtle that it’s unforeseeable the first time you watch, but then you realize that the story might be deeper, that maybe Porky did have good intentions at the beginning, but the torment he receives from the adventurers changes him, molding him to be more like them to the point that he would betray them. Another incredible plot point is the nature of the three main characters’ goals. Each treasure obtained by them reflects something within their personality. The orc wanted to be prettier, and so he took the dress. But, in the end, he found that the true beauty was within himself all along. As for the wizard, she took the nailgun to represent her desire to rebuild her relationship with the bard, nail by nail. Lastly, the bard took the Limited Edition Let’s Go Pikachu Nintendo Switch™ because, throughout the entire story, he was a manchild who didn’t really care about the others and would rather play Let’s go Pikachu in his basement than pay child support.
It's insane how Doug, while setting up a meme adventure, actually created an incipit where the characters are actually personally interested in solving the problem. A lot of people can't even do that in a normal campaign.
Im new in dnd but is often said that the meme character end being impactfull, maybe doing it to the whole adventure is the secret for character develpment?
This was probably one of the better streams in chats sector, sometimes (and we dont generally see this) but chat gets kinda bad in dougs chat about X topics, but like this stream had alot of cooperation and chat was pretty cool too. I think one of the chatters couldnt get in for like 15 minutes cuz his internet went out, so they waited but he never was able to come back, but the fact they waited was really cool to me.
I love how no matter who was in charge of the body the character acted the same I couldn’t tell when they swapped like ever, the only times I noticed was when I was looking for it to change
Rare moment of chat understanding consistency, having the relationship reach its zenith with the wizard rolling a nat 20 and kicking the bard wide awake in an act of hatred, bitterness, and romance 10/10 better than twilight
the fact that the Bard and the Wizard slowly learn to love again is so beautiful until that amazing moment where the Wizard shouts “This is for my husband!” completely rebuilding there relationship
I appreciate how both times that porky rolled throughout the entire game, he rolled a 20 lol. He was pushed around the entire game but I think he was just holding back
This NEEDS to become a series, Twitch chat playing D&D is way funnier than it has any right to be and I absolutely love it Edit: We got our wish guys, it happened!
I love how twitch chat didn't break the curse of the single braincell, meaning that their could canonically be future campaigns with the same characters controlled by twitch chat.
What I really like also is that no matter who took control of them, no chatters broke the character's personalities. Everyone knew how to perfectly play them.
I've never watched a D&D campaign before, nor played, but goddamn was this a way to start. Also can I just say how much I LOVE the art made for this video?? Wafferscotch did amazing. 0:05 Campaign poster, entering the Walmart. 20:40 Barbarian slicing the Hotpocket in half while the Bard lays in milk. 32:56 Barabarian in his dress punching the Mannikin disguised as him. 44:45 Wizard freezing the Mop and giant Roomba. 1:02:25 Wizard kickflipping and magic missiling the Legosaur, while the Barbarian pogs. xD 1:14:43 And finally Barbarian snapping the staff in the middle of town, while the Wizard holding her nail gun and the Bard holding his limited edition Nintendo Switch with a level 50 Charizard cheer him on.

Considering the Fact that they continue to Flirt after the Second Divorce yeah it was a Joke,Also the Revivak Kick LOL,only a Kick out of true love can revive someone like that
This was such a good idea. The AI voices for the players was a perfect way to bring life to the characters. I love how the characters’ personalities developed with each twitch chatter who played them. It was set up so damn well with the maps, the enemies, the special effects, everything. Doug ran the game very well - obviously he’s been a dungeon master before. I hope to see more of this in the future!!
Indeed, the foul witch Babagaboosh is still out there, and our heroes may have accepted her (his?) curse but that cannot be said for their other victims… this story is not over, I only hope Douglas Douglas will grant us our deserved sequel
Usually, in D&D groups, the Bard is the one with the rizz. But not in this group, the Bard has 0 rizz while the Wizard with her sick kickflips and the Barbarian with his pretty red dress just have amazing rizz!
I'm always impressed when people show rizz. After all, it's the individual rizz that makes the rizz so interesting. Observing one's rizz is among other things the most rizz thing someone who has little rizz can do. Signed, rizz.
Honestly love this style of simplified dnd, did this with my friends when first getting into it in highschool and some of my fondest memories are from it.
I love the chaotic romantic tension between this group that is basically everyone has a thing for everyone else, except it fluctuates wildly every 2 turns or so
1:04:00 this right here. This is what DnD is all about. When you do the most stupid shit imaginable and roll a nat 20 and the DM needs to somehow make it work. It's always SO hilarous to see, and Twich chat is the perfect player to facilitate those situations.
I wouldnt say its like, insane impossible shit they have to ad lib but like, a really dumb idea that is very funny and somehow through thr chaos makes total sense, that always rolls either a nat 1 or 20
No, he actually wasn’t. Doug said in the stream at the end that Porky actually had health because he had planned the entire time that Porky would eventually turn against them at the end. Because Chat hated him so much, we managed to drain a lot of his health before this happened.
Moral of the story: If you’re a barbarian: you throw pigs for fun and have a brother working in walmart If you’re a bard: you are horrible at rizz and are divorced If you’re a wizard: you know how to do amazing kickflips and love milk
I love how doug made a point to show how the roomba WILL just take the shortest path whether there's another enemy in the way or not only for chat to never use that fact to their advantage
The wet clothes represent dog shit, I thought that was clear. I still think they are useless, bumbling things, bumping into walls knocking over stuff and making things dirty, sounds familiar right? Like young kids. The day real house cleaning robots exist they'll also get you your pipe and slippers with a newspaper. Classic House of Tomorrow vibes.
Not quite. From what I can tell, the dice roll you're talking about was done by pure accident. You can even hear Doug go "whoops" in the full vod. Still though, the fact that the nat 20 happened, even on accident, was absolutely insane and definitely helped solidify what was going to happen.
Still can't believe I managed to get randomly picked for the wizard. This was amazing. And I even got us a sick artwork for defeating the roomba! Hope everyone enjoyed my part and how I played the character. It was hard trying to mend the relationship with the bard with everything going on. Edit: Seeing some of the comments mention my actions is awesome, glad you all seemed to enjoy it!
I mean, even though the Wizard fake-betrayed Walter, the barbarian still stayed true to his goals no matter what. No trickery or deception, just fashionable honor.
1:12:53 Bert looking up from his magazine to see the adventurers and Porky running the hell out while he smells smoke and the Walmart is bellowing "WALMART!" "Yeah, I'm not being paid enough to stick around."
The fact that the single brain cell curse isn’t broken, means we can see more of this DnD series. I’m honestly invested in this Wizard and Bard sub plot.

I am currently playing a D&D campaign and this is literally nothing compared to our shenanigans.

Damn, you're not wrong, that is what the wizard looks like
This story is incredible.
