    Thanks so much to everyone that joined in on the competition! I can't believe I actually showed what film stock I used. Of course it was Kodak Ultramax 400! Reyna Smile is the randomised winner, thank you guys, more to come in the future!

    Really good advice for this camera. I bought one, and it’s great for just walking around with.

    Unless you changed the film you were using once you loaded the camera @1:35, my educated guess based on the film canister is Kodak UltraMax 400 24 exp. film. Great video and pics! Looking forward to more videos in the future. :)

    I am going to go with Ultramax and keep my fingers crossed. Been considering getting one of these H35 cameras for my daughter to keep her hands off my SLRs!!

      I think the H35 is a great option, it’ll keep those costs down and it’s a great introduction into film!
      We’ll have to see if it’s the Ultramax or not soon 😵‍💫

    great video!! I've been looking for a new small daily film camera and I think this is it :)). I think you shot provia 100f ;) Or I'm looking too far into that lol

    It is nearly a miracle that this simple cameras is able to shoot quiet good pictures if the light belongs to the film. Expose time and aperture is fix.

    Will there be a sign or a click once the exposed frame has gone past the exposure area? Or you just roll it by feel?

    I bought this camera as something to play around & have fun with. I am taking it on a trip to nyc and want to take some photos walking around during the day but also at night at a concert I am going to. The concert is very light heavy in terms of the production. I was wondering what ISO film would you recommend if what I want is even something that is possible. I have never shot with film before so this is just something to get my toes wet. Thanks!

    • @maxkent
      @maxkent  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, I’d probably go for a 400 iso film and definitely still use your flash in the concert (if it wouldn’t ruin the vibe). Of course if the subject your photographing is far away, the flash won’t really make a difference so bear that in mind! Hope you have a lot of fun!

    • @maxkent
      @maxkent  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep going, it should start to move around, if not then the film may not have caught on but I don’t think this camera shoots without having film in.

    when you get the pictures developed, will they be regular sized or are they smaller/halfed?

    • @maxkent
      @maxkent  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, they’ll be normal sized, the quality will be slightly less good, but that doesn’t really matter with a camera like this

  • @w.cryies

  • @danicee
    @danicee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Haven't seen this model before so thank you for sharing. I picked up the Kodak m35 so I'm wondering if this is works similarly... but it definitely isn't a half frame model so better value with this one. I have no idea what film stock you used but just to guess I'd say Kodak Gold 200 because of the tint.

    • @maxkent
      @maxkent  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the m35 is still not a bad shout but being able to get 72 shots out of a roll of film is very nice!

    Camera itself is very cheap... but still the price of film rolls and developing film makes it more than one euro per shot here in Italy :( It's very fun.... but I'm not sure how long I could do this.... I feel like I would rather invest thousands euros on a Fuji camera at some point than throwing money on this... Not sure

    • @maxkent
      @maxkent  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I couldn’t blame you! Shooting film isn’t everything. Photography is about nearly everything apart from the format!
      If you like film, my suggestion would be to have both available. Have a good digital set up and have a nice point and shoot that you use for day to day life.

    What would be the best film to use with this camera?

  • @BerndtOtto
    @BerndtOtto 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Too late for guessing and winning, but I would actually have appreciated the topic „Which ISO to use ?“ in the video itself, because it’s in interesting and important question for using this camera.
    Most disposable cameras go for ISO 400, but looking at the footage of the H35 so far ( not only from this video ), I would say, it is often overexposed then. So, I would actually better go for a ISO 200 film with this camera to cover the most daylight ( and especially sunny ) situations. What do you think ?

    • @maxkent
      @maxkent  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I’d suggest a 400 ISO film if you can get it, 200 would be fine. Just be sure to use flash in low light

    Hi! I’m a newbie and I want this to be my first film camera. How do I get half shots with this camera? Does it automatically move to the 2nd frame once I take a shot? 😭 I am confusedz I hope you make a more in depth video of rewinding the camera 😁

    • @maxkent
      @maxkent  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, this camera is automatically a half frame camera so you don’t have to press anything to change it.
      Once the camera is loaded with film, you wind it on using a small winder on the bottom left of the camera and that moves it on to the next frame.
      You can’t go wrong with this camera so don’t worry, just grab one!
