Sorry if I missed it, but I didn't hear you talk about the glas lens. For me this is the only improvement that makes it worth it to buy the 35N over the 35.
I like this one because I don’t have to worry so much about it. I have better cameras but I always worry about carrying them places, dropping them or loosing them. This one just makes everything simple
Actually, alot of us really like the star function …it adds a cool effect to say a night photo that only has one or a few points of light, adding a little intrigue in a portrait of your girlfriend at the carnival or something. Anyway, all the extra features I can get on a cheapo camera I’ll take.
I know that it’s a stupid question but how do I know that the film is done? If I have a 36-photos film, the counter is showing me 72 films or does it end at 36? Actually I don’t remember how many photos I’ve taken and I’m super concerned if I am still able to take another photos with that film 😅🙈
Max, can you recommend an easy to use, light, film camera? I just want to carry it with me and have it on hand. Listen, we all have cameras on our phones, but i want a cool little camera! Is this a good option or is there another that is better?
Dumb newbie question Are half-frame cameras a new thing (to make up for costs) or have they always been around a long time even back when we had cheaper smaller format films?
Hi! Interesting review! I was looking to buy one of these point and shoot cameras as a present, how do you think this one (or the old h35) compares to the Lomo Apparat that you also reviewed ? I mean in terms of overall quality of the photographs (therefore not taking into account all the additional lenses you get with the Lomo)
I'm watching on a phone, granted, so the images are pretty small, but they look pretty great to me. I've been trying out some point & shoots recently and the results have been a mess- I can't believe you're getting such balanced shots when you're stuck at f8 and 1/100th!
Yeah I think the screen size will definitely have a positive impact on how it looks! To be fair, a lot of the pictures were taken in pretty good light so there wasn’t too much that could go wrong in terms of exposure. Glad you like them 🌞
I'm having a hard time with my H35N.. I love the experience but i'm getting so much underexposed photos even the ones i think i had good lighting still got tones of blackouts photos so far. Idk if its my camera or if its me lol, but im very frustrated with it, i bought this camera as a starting one to get into film photography and knew the kind of photos i was gonna get but im getting worst results than expected, maybe because of the film, i was using a kodak vision3 500T - which was cheap so i thought why not, but idk.. your photos looks great, i want results like that haha.
Seems like a cool little camera, but for £55 it seems like most people would be better off picking up any old 35mm point and shoot they can find in a charity shop/eBay. Lens quality and exposure control will be better. Also reduce, reuse, recycle etc
Yeah that’s a pretty easy opinion to have which I agree with for the most part. You can definitely get a far better camera for that price (although probably not a half frame, I’m not sure on the old Olympus half frame prices). But I think the people that are looking at a camera like this want something really basic. If the H35N takes someone away from buying a disposable then I’m pretty happy. Also, there’s a 50% reduction in waste because you’re effectively getting the shots of 2 rolls in 1. Idk why I bothered writing all that because I don’t really care if anyone buys one or not, I just think it’s more positive than some of the potential alternatives for this particular target audience.
@@maxkent Tbf old Half frames are a little more expensive because they’re rarer, still probably similar cost all in! But agree it’s basically a reusable disposable so that’s the market they’re targeting
Pls excuse me if you mentioned it already & I missed it. Did you post process these photos or straight from scan? And did you scan it or sent to a lab? 🖤
Max, would you recommend this (or the original H35) to someone who's just starting out with film and wants to test the waters? Or would you recommend something cheaper like the M35/M38/Ultra 9?
Amazing video! Thank you for sharing your adventures with new cameras! So excited to see new videos by you!
Great to hear Scott! A lot to come still 💪
I like that you actually shared the photos. It shows us what you can get. Also they are good!

Bro what camera are you using to film your videos? You look like you filmed this in the 70s, I love it.
It's all in the color grading.

It will end at 72. You may see at the indicator beside the shutter
Ask me a question that wasn't clear, with this camera can I take full frame photos and also 1/2?
no, it's exclusively a half-frame
It has the bulb mode. How is it good for astrophotography?
Hope you enjoyed the day in coniston lol - thought it looked familiar
Such a great spot!

Check out a Ricoh point and shoot there nice little cameras and there pretty pocketable

There were a few in the past, Olympus made a couple of really high quality ones!
Too early to be rickrolled 😂 had no idea about this camera but looks interesting!
Hahaha, I had to

Happy to not be the only one that can't decide between the Lomo Apparat and the H35N! Which one did you choose in the end? :)
@@itzyoung I didn't buy any of the two yet, but I'm leaning towards the H35N because of the price difference (even more since it's half-frame...) !
I just came across your videos and the cinematography is insane! Great shots! What gear are you using?
Thanks Brian! Sony A7 IV with the 24-70 2.8 lens and a pro mist filter!

Hey, it’s probably your camera, you can’t really control anything 👍
What is the film used? Great video!
Thanks! Lomo 400!
If you take this to Walgreens or CVS to develop the film will they charge you twice as much since one roll contains twice as many shots?
No, it’s still one roll!

was thinking the same here, for that price you'll be able to get a tested point and shoot

How do you get film photos on your phone?
Get them developed and scanned by a lab 👍

These are straight from the lab 👍
@@maxkent got it thanks sooo much!🖤 Your shots are lovely 🥰
Hi bro, what's the best iso do you think best for this camera in sunny day? Do you think Ektar 100 will be good for this camera?
