Another great video. Glad to see three generations out in the fields. You know what they say about farming if you ain't fixing something you ain't farming.
As a city boy, absolutely love your videos! This year was my first forey into farming ( if you can call it that) I had a short contract hauling sugar beets, I have a huge appreciation for everything that you and all farmers do! Thank you for your videos, I can honestly say I live vicariously through your videos!
Onyx needs to shadow Grandpa and Jim a lot more. You can learn so much in a hurry especially how they think about what is occuring in the fields at any given moment, how they go about in their mind developing solutions, etc. This old school knowledge is huge! Onyx also can learn different approaches and personalities for increased social skills. I was lucky and had several older mentors that impacted my life a ton. All gone now. Now my turn to transfer the old school knowledge.
Zach. I realize this video ( It’s always something) is over 3 years old, but I just watched it today( Dec9,2024). Here’s a handy tip I learned from my Gleaner dealer . When you have a feeder chain crawl like yours did- find a 7/16 or 1/2 inch bolt and nut. Place it through an open loop in the feeder chain that has jumped a cog, install the nut on the bolt and roll the chain over by hand. The side that is lagging , will crawl over the sprocket tooth and magically snap over and reorientate itself. Takes some patience initially , but if you have to do it often( as I did combining field peas ) you get really quick at it. I love watching your videos at 3:00 am , and I can’t sleep. Keep them coming, and keep it between the rows!
The amount of steering wheel down and seat up and forward that onyx had in that grain cart takes me back to my beginning days. Everything was so big and hard to reach when I was learning. Thank the lord for multiple adjustments now adays
It's great to see you're boy driving equipment, in '69 when I turned 11, I was given my first shotgun, and a swather to drive to earn it. You're never to young to start Farming...

Western truck and tractor is a good youtube channel, the works on everything, and really teaches a lot. Warren is his name, and he was a diesel mechanic in the navy on submarines, and he is really good at figuring thing's out. Warren also tells good stories, and his rants are pretty funny to, especially about remanufactured parts, because he rebuilds a variety of engine's, transmissions, hydo units, and anything else. God bless y'all.

Why not quit growing corn, Zach? ;D We haven't so much problems here in Sweden doing grains and maybe only some maise forage chopped for silage and sweetcorn on cob in our gardens. Yields are so much higher. And we finished all landwork incl winter crops three weeks ago! More time for racing instead of drying. You know midnight sun! Haha! It's nice watching the different farmers in different areas and how some equipment works great for some and how some equipment don't for others and their type of soils.

Excellent job of always taking the time to explain annoying situations. Many non farmers wouldn’t know of these little frustrations without you taking the time to explain them. I’m struggling to get my channel to grow, just needing that one video to get it going.
Zac, for washing combine windows we have started carring a 2-3 gallon bucket which we fill with windshield washer fluid. Then we dunk a squeegee into it them wipe the windows off. This has worked better and faster than anything else we have found
