- Harvesting More Than Corn! We got more rain but we're back in the field again! Harvest 2021 has had its challenges but overall we're gonna wrap things up a couple weeks earlier than normal. Onyx took some time off from grain carting to head out for the MN youth deer hunt. He's been tracking this monster all summer. Hard work pays off! Congratulations on your first deer harvest Onyx!

That’s why it such an amazing sport.. I love seeing kids out hunting and let alone having enough maturity/control to let young deer walk too get that dream mature buck.. it’s not easy even for adults let alone a young man of onyx’s age..

I’d say that buck is a definite township record. Couldn’t be more happy for Onyx. He was talking about that deer all year and it’s great to see all his efforts pay off. Somewhere there was even a set of C&A Pro Skis involved.
Thanks for teaching Onyx about respecting the deer. Killing for pleasure versus killing for food and honoring the animal is important.

It's really not appropriate on famy style channels, but those kinds of people don't have great morals so they "think" its ok. Sad yet frustrating really. 😞

I love how Onyx has been watching this buck for a long time. Knew its movements, names it, knew it was going to be the ONE, then as he said, smoked it! No pain, no suffering. A true hunter! Go kiddo go.
The only reason I have never deer hunted was the fear I would not drop it and lose the whole animal by bad tracking skills
That's part of learning how to hunt. It helps that this is open country.

Good to see there’s still kids being raised like we were back in the 80’s! Onyx is a good kid and will grow into a fine young man! Congrats to both Zach and Becky! BTW nice buck Onyx, watching them on trail cams is a fun hobby, I have 5 Reconyx cams out year round on my farm here in Idaho! Every spring I plant a 5 acre food plot of corn then drill wheat over the top and leave the corn standing, deer, pheasants and turkeys love it in the depth of winter! Thanks for the great videos Zach and Becky oh and love the podcast too!
From now on when thunder is opened we must hear the loud clap of thunder. If it is opened at night we must see a big flash of lightning. Congrats to Onyx on the nice buck.

I thought the standard excuse for gunning down deer is that they're too numerous. Especially when you have more than enough to eat.

Alot of wild population looks like its doing pretty ok in the US when i compare them to our "European standards"
Hunting culture is big here, even amonst city dwellers. So we have abit low numbers on spieces, and animals that rival hunting gets killed.
Like in my nation of Norway we have half the amount of wolves that even a small place like yellowstone has. And Norway is about 105 times as big as yellowstone.
And we have like 1/5 th of yellowstones bear population in the whole country.
I do think hunting needs to take a rest in my nation tho. But US looks like it does much better. After all, it was pretty much "untouched" untill the colonists arrived :P

Thank you for taking the time to remove the dirt from the roadway. It makes it safer for those who ride motorcycles. Loggers oftentimes drag mud out of the forests, and when it gets wet, can get slick for riding on two wheels. Keep it between the rows.
