I saw of these similar items in my grandmothers house. Born in 1876 she explained that before mechanical / electrical refrigeration ice was harvested / from ponds and lakes throughout the winter, stored in insulated caves with sawdust insulation and then distributed via horse drawn cart. You would then put a block of ice in the top of your "ice box", preserving food for a bit longer. Thanks. Narragansett Bay
What an amazing restoration on the vintage ice chopper. I love vintage products because they work also they have lots of character. Love your channel and content. ❤🇨🇦
That was a Totally Amazing Job of Restoring this Old Ice🧊 Crusher. I don't believe I've seen one of these before. I've seen lots of Cool Antiques in my Years but I do believe you found something that I haven't seen before. Love ❤️ it. Thank you so much for Sharing this Video. Another Amazing 👏 Job ❤️ it.
Nice refurbishing project. It looks real good now. If you could make or design a different cutter rotor, you could also have shaved ice. Just an Idea. Thumbs Up!
Great restoration. They don't make things like that anymore. Do you mind if I ask if you used a food contact safe paint and what type? I am restoring one by North Brothers myself and it will be used frequently. I am considering a low VOC semi-gloss, but would appreciate your input. A show piece is different than a working unit, especially when your friends are drinking Mai Tais with your ice cubes. Thanks!
Vaporized oil and smoke detectors don't mix. Well actually, they mix a bit too much, setting off alarm. Oh cool, new tools (my 86 yr old mother loves when I get new tools). Beautiful restoration, I love your work.
9:20: That crusher barrel part has some WICKED looking spikes mounted into it!! That part would be INSANELY CRAZILY dangerous if it was SPUN UP at a HIGH to VERY high rpm!!!!! That would make an INSANE weapon topper.
The spiked barrel that does the actual crushing looks terrifying - like something out of a horror movie. Great restoration, the gold and black colour combo is very nice.
wow what a cool machine! I never would have guessed spikes are the best shape for crushing ice, but that makes total sense (and explains why modern ice crushers suck! XD)
Awesome video, but an off-topic comment: the ad reminded me of an episode of Malcolm in the middle, where Hal rented a shredder machine to shred a tree he cut down, and after that he and the kids just kept looking for things to throw into the machine just for fun.
Could you please record organic noise your sandblaster produce instead of full-spectrum white noise which's not the same thing at all? Thanx in advance
be cool though to have an actual sword ⚔️ made. we use Wustof not spelled right german knives. they have steak 🥩 knives that don’t shred steak. their cutlery great to as gifts. use wooden cutting boards plastic glass dull the knives very quickly use book’s brothers cutting boards only. use food grade mineral oil to keep boards hydrated. general dawn soap 🧼 hand wash only. dry you’ll the board get dull add the mineral oil wipe down let air dry keep on cooking
I live about 50 miles south of where this ice crusher was made, love your work
WOOPS! I hope the wife is the forgiving soort! I love the crushers name. Somehow Alaska just fits. Black and are winners!

Nice work on the restoration. I'm glad I'm not the only one that disturbs my wife while she works. Yours was the smoke detector, mine is my singing. 😖
Awesome restoration

Winchendon, Massachusetts is less than 10 miles from my home. Amazing restoration once again. ~Kevin
Oo it’s that good ice that just hits different when you eat it

Wonderful job restoring the ice crusher. It looks much better and you made a new wooden base for it. It works like a charm, too Great work as usual.

Hello TRG beautiful restoration good job well done
The spiked barrel that does the actual crushing looks terrifying - like something out of a horror movie. Great restoration, the gold and black colour combo is very nice.
I was thinking when I saw it, that almost looks like some kind of freaky weapon!
Nice!
Wow that looks amazing 👍 love the colour choices. Thanks for sharing this fantastic project.

Awesome restore!
Música relaxante muito agradável, muito calmante com belas paisagens, muito tocante. Ganhou mais um inscrito!🍁🍁🍁😎😎😎
J'espère au moins que la peinture noire utilisée est une peinture alimentaire ?!
Thank you! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Hey Tim
I hope you and yours are doing well.
Take care
Good Restore 👍🏻❤
Excelente 👏👏
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nickel might not be the best thing to contact ice. What is it plated on? Steel? Stainless steel? Aluminum?
Excelente trabalho. Parabéns 👏👏🇧🇷👏
wow what a cool machine! I never would have guessed spikes are the best shape for crushing ice, but that makes total sense (and explains why modern ice crushers suck! XD)
Great job, just doing what your doing 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Satisfying restoration job weldone❤️❤️🔥
It was a little spooky watching that spikey-thingie buff out on the wheel.
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Live next to the town where that was made
I'm going to stick with candles after seeing the nickel plate technique
Very cool, well done.👍
I think you crushed it this time.
Came our Great 👍
Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
nice job, but i think i would have gone with white and red lettering and wheel
The Alaska Ice Crusher: That's the nickname I gave an ex-girlfriend once.
🤣
She a figure skater? 😆
Did she like it
So THAT'S why she is an EX.
Nossa, ficou demais!!! 😍😍😍
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Change that smoke alarm for a heat alarm in the workshop
(I'm an electrician by trade)
🇬🇧🙂

I have one of these in need of restoration. Would you be open to restoring one for $$?
Could you please record organic noise your sandblaster produce instead of full-spectrum white noise which's not the same thing at all? Thanx in advance
✔️
Why do you have a red and white colored ones on the thumbnail for??
well the battery is good on the smoke detector
Next video - restoring a smashed smoke detector ;)
hahaha if i didn't need it, it would be in pieces
Oh man, I have a set of Japanese knife. I cut myself so many times until I got the hang of using them. 🤣
Did the wife make you sleep on the couch after setting off the smoke alarm? I know mine would've!!
I think you're gonna have paint chips in your margaritas sooner or later.
those knives 🔪 can peel a tomatoes 🍅 skin news paper thin
be cool pun intended make snow cones is a ice 🧊 crusher just have to use bag of ice or use ice out of freezer get some flavored syrup
be cool though to have an actual sword ⚔️ made. we use Wustof not spelled right german knives. they have steak 🥩 knives that don’t shred steak. their cutlery great to as gifts. use wooden cutting boards plastic glass dull the knives very quickly use book’s brothers cutting boards only. use food grade mineral oil to keep boards hydrated. general dawn soap 🧼 hand wash only. dry you’ll the board get dull add the mineral oil wipe down let air dry keep on cooking
what did you restore?? polishing and painting is not restoration.
Good thing your not in the mob... A sure way to get someone to talk
Are you sure that's an ice crusher or some sort of midevil torture device? Don't get your hand caught in it
There are more than enough ads on TH-cam, don't need them in videos. FAIL !!
😠
I agree, especially when the ad if for some sketchy, overpriced, low quality, rip off product, like these knives.
Really boring. I quit.
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
