I like everything in that hostel, except for the beds and restrooms. The surrounding areas looks very nice.

Forgot to show the bathroom. Siem reap is such a small town and this part of the town just 10 mins walk from the main bridge has the most shops of wide variety!

Hi! I was wondering if you felt safe in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh? I was planning a solo trip there this December and was excited to go. But then I learned that they have a huge human trafficking/cyber slaves problem targeting East Asians, specifically Taiwanese, Hk people and Chinese. The whole thing is very recent too, probably started getting reported in 2022? Now I’m nervous if I should skip Cambodia even though I really wanna see Angkor wat. When I ask others, they tell me how safe it is. But then again they are white and aren’t the ones getting targeted to be trafficked into some cyber scam prison

      Hey there,
As a Chinese Asian Lady solo travelling the world, it is perfectly safe. Always stay in city centre. When I Googled before I travelling there, like you, the first page’s articles is all about human trafficking that targets women. Because I have to travel to all countries in the world no matter what, I realised how overly exaggerated news and search engine can be.
There are usually policemen patrolling around with guns. And a number of Tuk Tuk drivers looked out for me by asking me not to bring out my phone. Those were the biggest warnings.
      Here’s some tips:
      1. Stay only at crowded tourist provinces like Seam Reap. (Skip Phnom Penh)
      2. Tell your hotel staff to look out for you.
      3. Contact & get a Tuk Tuk ride from my recommended Cambodia person listed in my description. (Esp when heading to a vast temple tour like Angkor Wat- Never do it by foot)
      4. Always book transport with Tech Apps. It has an in-built GPS that will ask if you are alright when you move too far from your destination.
