  • Hi,
I made another microphone, yay! This one is a broadcast style dynamic microphone, kinda like EV RE20, Shure SM7B or Røde Procaster.
I'm actually surprised the plywood grill did not completely ruin the sound of the mic!
I couldn't find the name of the capsule that's in the Ibanez TH300 mic, but you can get all kinds of dynamic mic capsules super cheap on eBay and a every capsule i've tried has been quite nice!
I'm going to be building more microphones, next one is probably gonna be a super simple phantom powered electret condenser mic. Subscribe for more crap!
    Thanks bye! ❤️

I mean... you could go a step higher for cheap too, by buying a (google tag, cause links get ya banned: "Tea Baskets Mesh Coffee Espresso Strainer") and a plastic body made out of (google tag: "2-Handle Plastic Mug with 2 Style Lids") which would give a perfect point to hang the mike from using some springs (old school cool) or postal size rubber bands from a frame that could be something like a second hand flexible lamp where one would cut the bulb cover to make a yoke (basically, you intersect the lamp cover with two imaginary planes, leaving the round body where the bulb base goes, and two "arms" that can be drilled for the rubber bands/springs). Just my 2 cents, and purely because if one puts effort into making a mike, might just as well spend just a little bit more. That and transparent microphones are pretty neat (they used to be a short lived thing in the mid 80's).

mkay, this is not about building a microphone, but about building a new casing for a preexisting mic capsule.

What cable did you use for all these DIY goodness?
