Quick notes: - Forgot to include Silverado EV US sales (which are included in overall Silverado sales). Chevy sold 7,428 Silverado EVs in 2024 in the US, good for a 1511.3% increase. That would have put it at number 9 on the list behind the Hummer EV.
- That would be Hyundai, not Hyunai @7:20
Thanks. Could you link a spreadsheet or document summarizing the numbers? I would be great to have that to look at all together. If you want, I could even make a few nice charts and send them to you from the data.
Maverick still killing it more then Double ranger
😊😊😊
Consumers lost, no longer is it feasible to buy a moderately equipped half ton pickup truck because THEY AREN’T AFFORDABLE
I don’t disagree however moderately equipped has been a moving target. Not too long ago that just mean power windows and door locks, and maybe cruise control and ABS.
Mark my works. 96 month car loans will be a thing in the next 4 years.
And yet people are still buying them.
Poor people too uneducated to increase their income were always destined to fail.. that's why we call them losers
Well clearly we can afford more than we think, looks like millions of people are buying them.
Glad to see the frontier is up here since they still have a naturally aspirated V6 and no surprise that the maverick sold 130k trucks I've been seeing a lot on the road, I have a 2022
When you say "sold" do you mean sold to the dealer from the factory or is that sold to a customer from the dealer?
The world "sold" refers to vehicles sold to consumers.
these are retail sales, so to consumers
Another point on sales is that Ford adds 450 and 550 sales into their sales figures, GM doesn’t sell 4500 or 5500 series in Canada and doesn’t include them in their US sales figures
Always interesting to see the differences between U.S. and Canada.
Yeah Canada's most sold car is a used Honda Civic were a 3rd world country taxes to death unemployed and all brown skin. But many act and think they like US. No way Canada is 💩
I hope one day, they compete with the price not performance, look, etc..
I would have bought a Tacoma a few years ago, loved the size of the bigger cab they used to have and all the long bed. Now it's basically short cab, sometimes a long bed (especially in Canada). Instead, I bought a Tundra. No regrets
If Ram wants to come back to grace, they should really consider bringing a mid-sized truck to the US/Canada market.
Ram, like all Stellantis divisions heading into bankruptcy, were ordered by the just fired Stellantis CEO to significantly increase corporate profits by:
1. Switching to the cheapest lowest quality parts, remove essential parts such as engine oil dip sticks, replace superior safer 3 color tail lights with 2 color tail lights, etc. and even going so far as removing exterior metal sections in exterior body panes such in tailgates replaced with cheap plastic inserts that are unsafe in crashes, shake, rattle and can leak water.
2. The fired CEO laid off 40,000 employees at the same time increased assembly output with less workers and relocated key USA assembly plants to Mexico. The net results are unacceptable bad quality assemblies, cheap parts that fail, shake, rattle, leak water and air, etc.
3. The final proverbial “nail in the coffin”, the fired CEO required major unjustifiable MSRP price increases for unacceptable poor quality vehicles on all levels leading to record high dealer inventories at Ram, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler: “No one wants a vehicle the dealer needs to fix and/or replace multiple parts and issues before its delivered to the customer” -Stellantis employee.
Just switched from a loyal RAM customer to Ford. It had nothing to do with the V8, or anything like that. They refused to honor their warranty. Their trucks are too expensive to have no warranty, and when my rack and pinion went out at 900 miles (no wreck or anything), they refused to fix 100% of it. Let's see if Ford can do better. 2024 tremor.
Just a point of interest; the Tacoma sales are down 17% (USA) whereas the Frontier sales are up 17%… any correlation? It does seam that the Tacoma quality is down which has sent practical buyers towards the Frontier which is actually a decent truck. Perhaps Canadians will catch on to the great value the Frontier is as well in the next year.
The trouble is the frontier is the same price as the Tacoma now and the resale value just isn’t there, or at least hasn’t been there
If you look at the pricing here in Canada, the value gap isn't there.
Frontier 2025 SV 50k
Colorado trailboss 48k , z71 52k
Ranger XLT FX4 package with v6 52k
Tacoma TRD offroad 51k
@@YoitsDro exactly, and look at used prices. Big gap
You couldnt pay me to own a Nissan
@@nieldcreek2098 Toyota has driven off an entire consumer segment that hates small displacement turbo charged engines , silly styling and gimmicky electronics, big reason Frontier is gaining ground.
Great update 👍
Im in Ontario, bought a 2024 Ranger.
Cheers
I am in Connecticut and I bought a 2024 Ranger. Love it!
BC checking in. Base model 4x4 (no 2x4 in Canada). Also love it!
No regret, with the 5ft bed?
@@jonquis07
Not for me and my needs. The new wider bed fits full 4ft wide sheets of stuff was a great addition.
Cheers
Ford seemed to really struggle getting Rangers out in first two quarters of 2024, wonder how many people ended up buying something else during that time.
I still only see one or two a month on the road, and I live in Michigan.
As far as the Nissan Titan my local dealer (only 1 in 100 miles radius) will not discount them one bit.
Also, the prices and interest rates are not consumer friendly right now.
❤The the channel. Great video!
Wow, Ford hit the nail on the head with the Maverick! People still want affordable decent size utility vehicles. I wonder if other manuf will take notice.
Mavericks aren’t affordable, its a 2.0L engine and cant tow anything and starts at 25k. I paid 12k for my lbz and threw another 7k of mods onto it, so for 6k less than a base maverick you too can have a. 2007 gmc sierra 2500 diesel with 500hp
I think the Maverick has also captured a solid niche in fleet and commercial sales markets. It seems to ride the small form factor and efficiency that many businesses have been wanting for years. Kudos to Ford!
@@Ccristoff you’re not exactly hitting 24+ mpg on your sierra without a load. The maverick is all the truck most people need 25k isn’t bad considering today’s market. dealer markups definitely ruin it though. Also the used car market is horrible today. Everybody’s been charging up the roof since 2020
@ barely ever drive without a load but when i do i get 19-22 mpg and on 35s. And who cares about mpg when it makes a cool noise!!!!!
Rams decline is due to the end of the Ram Classic.
Hows the 4x4 market? Bronco vs Wrangler vs 4Runner etc
Down
Interesting in the Tacoma vs Frontier sales in Canada. The Tacomas are flying off the lots but Nissan Canada will not budge on incentives for even the remaining 2024 Pro 4X's (with the smaller infotainment screens). Their pricing is very close to the Tacoma but the resale is so much worse on the Frontier. It's very likely a better truck and is underrated but the consumer shouldn't have to take the hit on resale which speaks to inventories of 2025's which haven't budged since they arrived in October.
Ram sales are down for 2 reasons. 1) ridiculous prices and 2) dropping the Hemi for a totally unproven Hurricane engine that gets worse mileage than the V8

I hope Nissan doesn't ditch Canada again for a truck, as those numbers are down quite a bit. I miss the Titan up here, and like Toyota, they were always just a smidge behind for technology, but they were solid pickups.
The Frontier is priced badly up here. I think if it was more in line with US pricing (in comparison to the competition) it would sell a lot better. The truck itself is great.
@@seabrookmxyes, frontier pricing is high up here.
U S and Canada, F150 is at 900k. They may hit 1,000,000 nxt year.
I have Nissan Pathfinder R 51 2,5 td 2010 and all OK!
Glad to see the Maverick carving out its space! Once Ford starts to offer the FX4 on the hybrid and possibly a PHEV it will have a bit of everything in one truck.
…and really, they still have no competition in the compact market. Where is Toyota, GM or Dodge? Also, it will be interesting to see if Honda toughens up the Ridgeline along the lines of their new Passport.
TFL only got 29 MPG on their new hybrid. Not impressed.
Im just waiting for xlt, 4k tow, fx4, and the option for the dual clutch rear end. I dont want to lose tow capacity with a tremor.
@ that’s a reasonable want in a vehicle but I’d doubt they’d do it as that’s truck rear end is what makes the Tremor a Tremor and the Badlands a Badlands and the same can be said with the Focus RS to some degree.
I’m sure there are people hoping for an FX4 Hybrid variant which would be more realistic.
@ One argument is that the tremor and badlands is about the off road suspension which lowers the tow capacity. However, my argument is Ford is a truck company and F series and ranger let you option the electronic locker even on their cheapest XL model. Why not follow that trend with their smallest truck? Even the old ranger could be optioned with the torsen limited slip. Maybe once we see chevy and ram enter the subcompact truck market ford will give us the option as a way to compete. Looking at the sales numbers its inevitable for the other companies to not compete in this segment.
I'll stick with my f150 best truck I've ever had and I've tried em all for my dollars id go ford's just me
Never understood why GM doesn’t combine the Sierra and Silverado trucks. You’d think they’d like to have that title of selling the most. Big marketing tool for Ford
Truck sale was down because of delivery time
Are you dudes doing SUVs next?
How many of those trucks had engine failure
Why Rivian R1T is Not Included in your List?
Crazy the tundra sold that many when the ford powerboost is a thing.
idiots want to see some fireworks of their engine. LOL
@@marcelo403polo2powerboost just as bad. Have had both powerboost would randomly cut all power on highway and make ticking noises. Never had problem with tundra but sold it because decided we didn’t need the tow mirrors as they were such a bit blind spot
@@loganmartin8613 TBH. All are trash now. I bought last July 2024 GMC Sierra AT4X HD with duramax and I can’t say I’m happy with it. Quality went down big time from my last Denali HD LML. Kinda waiting for transmission to bite the dust already. LOL
And only 8K miles on it now.
All electronic crap has its own life in it and does whatever it wants😀😀
is the new Tacoma bigger than the first generation Tundra?
The problem with sales numbers is that everyone in the boardroom expects to see numbers grow over the past year. They can't expect that, as it's not realistic. Two years ago may have been booming, while last years sales appear to have slumped. But overall, the company is still making money. It's all about averages and profits. If the company is still doing profits, then year to year sales numbers are meaningless. You would have to devour the competition, and put one Auto maker out of business each year, if you expect to have continuous sales numbers going upwards.
That’s what shareholders want. Growth.
Profits are realistic, but continuously climbing sales numbers are not realistic. @@andrewc1036
I had to pause the video when you said small gains for GMC. A 10% increase on that number is 30,000 trucks. If I multiply that by $80,000 Canadian that comes to $2.4 billion. It all depends on perspective, but I don’t consider that small gains. I may be off by a bit but $80,000 Canadian sounds like a pretty average price.
Interesting how brand loyal people are. Ford has had reliability issues since it started with the 4.6 and 5.4,
When that didn’t work they came up with a worst idea. The ecoboom.
And let’s not even start with the 6.0 and 6.4 powerstroke. If it wasn’t for brand loyal customers the super duty would be dead a long time ago.
The Jeep Gladiator and Honda Ridgeline are ugly as sin…
Yeah these companies have priced all of their trucks Out Of Reach of the average consumer anymore. Especially the half ton on up trucks
This makes me laugh at the youtubers screaming that tacos arent selling since theres overflow at dealers 😂
Toyota may have strong sales, but when you have to replace engines and transmissions on everything you sell...
I guess the death of the Tacoma was greatly over exaggerared
GM has always competed against themselves.
Nissan should keep a full size truck as tundra is in a pickle with reliability
Id buy one fresh off the lot if they were affordable. They're priced as luxury vehicles. They're trucks. Trucks. As in, use them to do things with. Make them affordable. Take off the 18inch screen tvs. Nobody wants em.
So GM still sold more trucks .
The complicated and confusing structure to GM is because of the power the dealer network has over the manufacturer. The GMC / Buick / Cadillac dealers want to keep GMC as a truck because historically the Buick and Caddy buyers would get a GMC if they needed a truck and they are loyal (repeat) customers. So GM cannot roll the sales together because they are different brands and different dealer networks.
I know it doesn’t make sense, but GM is losing hundreds of millions of dollars every year by not folding GMC into Chevrolet. But that allows the dealer network to make tens of millions. 😂
The question is, would it be worth it to GM to re-align their brand and risk massive layoffs and closures of GMC dealers to try and grab the top sales spot? The fear is that GMC buyers would jump ship to Ford or Toyota instead of getting a Chevrolet truck.
Nissan went way too high on the MSRP.
That applies to every single model and manufacturer
Toyota trucks are now made in Mexico so that's a deal breaker with me.
Tundra and Tacoma sales would be higher if Canada had inventory.
They have Tundra inventory. Always a couple Tundras on the lot. Not as many Tacomas though.
Consumer lost
yeahhhh i dont think this is accurate.
At 100k of those tundras are being recalled.
stop wasting our time pretending that honda ridgelines are trucks
Toyota sold that many trucks with bad motors.
Most of these numbers are BS and misleading, you need to breakout fleet sales, that's the REAL TEST for consumers.
You do a disservice by not mentioning the Cybertruck sales, though I am not a fan myself, it has some amazing technology and is totally US made.
Tesla doesn't break out Cybertruck sales like all the other companies do. They lump Cybertruck in with Model S and Model X sales, so the exact number of trucks sold is a mystery.
In 2024, Tesla delivered 85,133 "Other Models" (Model S, Model X and Cybertruck) to the market. Most estimates I have seen say that's probably between 35,000 and 50,000 Cybertrucks.
But since they choose not to offer specific sales numbers, we didn't include it in the video.
Cybertruck eats all of these for breakfast
Looks like it was dreamed up by a 7 year old. And priced for idiots.
@ tell me which overpriced truck do you drive idiot?
