I notice that USA team uses three monster blockers but Japan often has only one blocker. This is to their disadvantage because the ball can be blocked better with three tall blockers. To me, it seems rather useless for the Japanese spikers to spike so close to the net when you have an obvious three man Wall in front of you. Of course it will be blocked, its often that the ball bounces off the blockers to outside lines that they scored which is just luck. I think it is much smarter when you let Ran Takahashi Or Ishikawa send the ball over because they almost always spike it someplace open on the court. Ran seems to be really a genius at where he spikes the ball.

set ratio of Argentina is 23-24 (23 win, 24 lost), at this point US is 19-23. so, even if they sweep Japan 3-0, their set ratio is 22-23, which is still behind Argentina. so US team have no hope at all to advance to the final round
