@@bingobango301 I used the Samsung 27" curved screen that Walmart is selling right now. Model number LC27F396FHNXZA. It's a computer monitor, not a TV.
@@bingobango301 the only issue with this mod is the Sinden Light Gun technology is very sensitive to light on the video monitor itself. If you have certain sunlight glare on the monitor from a window, or even just a light from inside the home hitting the screen wrong it will make the gun shots not register. It may take some trial and error on where and how to keep the wrong light glare off the screen, but other than that it is a great mod!
Wow thanks man for a super quick reply, I finally bought a 32" smart TV and it works perfect, yes 100% needs to be dark in the room for the gun to register properly, but wow what a huge upgrade,
Nice video - thanks. Amazon is sold out of the adapter so maybe I’ll try the ali express link - never ordered from there. Still nervous on setting up the tv and getting it mounted right but I might give this a go. Great tip on the 1080p, wasn’t aware of that and hopefully it won’t be hard to find the right tv…. Subbed…. Is a 1080p led computer monitor fine or should I go with a tv??
Yes I think so. The guns need the white border to function so I don’t think it’ll matter. I bought the tv because it was a cheap option. One thing I forgot to mention was: if you get a heavy tv it could tip the cab forward so you may need to counter weight or use the wall attachment. It was part the reason I recessed the tv and cut the cab, so it would be more stable. Also, I put a sub in it so it helps too. But it’s def not tipping over, just something to be aware of going in. I would personally suggest, not buying a screen at all just yet. Get the adapter, then hook up a screen you already have in the house. You don’t even need to set the cab up to do that. Anyway, please keep me posted and if you need to, I can give you my email and we can discuss further
@@PlanetPOW might do a smaller screen than you, the tipping thing crossed my mind. I might do like a 27 or 32 inch, which is still a huge improvement over the 17 inch ridiculous screen they have. Might be easier to mount a smaller screen to. Thanks for the help
Hey man. Great vid. I’m having a horrific time getting my shots to be accurate or even register half the time. In the calibration menu it’s saying 320,240 when I shoot the centre target. Is that bad? I see people saying it says 0,0. I used to play this game competitively many years ago so I’m used to the game feeling much different than this cabinet does now. I’m in a dark room and the white boarder is around the screen and I’m standing back a fair distance. Thanks.
Hey mate thank you very much! 3 quick things to try and then something you can do to upgrade. 1) I’m tall so I had to mod with an additional riser to play properly, see if that helps 2) calibrate the gun the same way you shoot when you’re playing. Some people aim right down the barrel when they calibrate but then shoot differently when playing 3) check the lens on the camera (at the tip of the barrel that houses the camera) is clean. A smudge on there from a fingerprint or general dirt buildup can basically mess up the whole accuracy Lastly, thunderstickstudio.com have upgraded, wood stock, weighted shotguns that work with your Buck Hunter machine. Check them out. They are either available now or still pre-order but Glens Retro Show does a good video for them on his channel. He’s made a bunch of great things for arcade1ups and I own a couple of them. Very good quality stuff and should seriously improve your gameplay. Please let me know if you struggle to find anything - you can also contact me on Instagram and I can message you the links properly. Thanks again for watching and good luck! Buck Hunter is so fun when it’s working right!
Yes, great tips. I’m going to try them right away and I just bought the adapter from Ali express so hopefully it’s here in Canada by Christmas lol. $250usd for one of those upgraded guns is pretty steep so I’ll try the screen mod first and go from there.
Been having trouble with mine tried several monitors was going to try a monitor from goodwill as a last try… Do I need the LVDS splitter board as well that I’ve seen maybe?
I am so sorry - must have missed this! Parts needed are literally the geekworm and an HDMI cable, a screen and a mount of some kind for your screen. I bought the screen and mount separately on marketplace for less than $100 (AUD) all up. THen the geekworm was about $40 delivered. So id safely say, less than $150 all up - i already had multiple spare HDMI cables. Hope that helps!
let me know how you go. Double check you have the white banner around the outside of the screen. You should also try playing with differetn aspect ratios on the tv to ensure youre getting the full frame
I assume you’re talking about the actual converter? Two things I would say but I’m happy for someone to correct me. 1) there are two inputs for the lvds cable (I’m pretty sure the one in the cooltoy vid is this one and he explains the two inputs) and 2) the newer ones are supposed to work with all screens
@@justin12327543 hey mate. It’s a 10 year old sony Bravia 42” that I got from marketplace for $50. Apologies I don’t know the exact model. The new LVDS to HDMI adapters say they will work with any screen so I don’t think you’ll have a prob either way
Damn that’s a great idea. Looks cool and obviously plays better too. Might get the nerve to try it 😂
Do it! It’s basically the most popular game in my arcade now and very easy! Yell out if you need help or have more questions!
Having the bigger screen makes it so much more inviting
It’s literally like being in a bar
Great video. I know it's several months old, but I just found it, and I just subbed! I want a BBH cab now :)

Great setup, mate. That's a beautiful bit of kit that. Put together really well.
I'm well impressed. 👍
Thank you mate! I love a visit from someone who appreciates this stuff! Haha
Why is your TV and marquee OFF CENTER😳
I went with a 27" screen on my mod. The graphics are so good in this game though that the bigger the better.
What is the model monitor r u using?, I've had 2 that don't work my 50" TV is the only display I have is compatible,

I saw someone on reddit say they were unplugging and reseating the lvds and it worked… hope you get it working!
All in - what were the additional costs to do this?
1. Parts needed to convert
2. TV cost
3. Anything else needed?
Thank you in advance!

So all I need essentially is the conversion adapter, hdmi cable and TV outside the game itself correct?
Absolutely. Only thing worth mentioning is some people have said certain screens don’t work but I tried 3 different ones and they were all fine
Oh man. I bought a geekworm hdmi adapter thing but I don’t get any picture recognition on the new monitor.
I hate to hear that… and as I’m not there it’s hard to help but did you check the pins line up etc?
Does the mod need to be done immediately or can it be built as it comes first and modded later?
Yep can be done anytime. Set it up and check if you’re ok with the standard screen. Then it’s an easy changeover later if you want it
Where can i buy actual big buck world to get started on this
Mine is from Arcade1up. They are available in most countries - not sure about stock levels for Big Buck at the moment though. Good luck!
