It still is the minimum configuration which I would recommend for a windows laptop. It works fine unless you want a machine for gaming, lots of 4K video editing and raw photo editing, in which case .. I recommend going for i7 with 16GB RAM. Brand wise HP is really decent .. even better than Dell which is my current daily driver.

You could look into selling it off and upgrading or maybe save everything on an external drive and format/reinstall windows and see if that works .. but make sure you have backed up everything before doing that.

Hi I got the same model but with 16 RAM; was more expensive but It works really well. The only thing that is rather disturbing is the noise. The fan would produce really loud noise but I changed the parameters from control panel so that cooling happens pretty rarely. However, the processor constantly makes some noise regardless of the workload. The seller told me it is like that with these models but I am still doubting that it maybe the manufacturing problem of the very item I have. Was it also the issue with the item you are reviewing ??
Lela Makharadze I haven’t noticed such issues till now. The fan does run hot whilst using apps like photoshop .. but usually it does settle down. Maybe check the anti-virus software, sometime it might hog resources. Also make sure all updates have been applied and you are running latest versions.
It my experience, HP is the best brand even when compared to the likes of Lenevo, Dell and Sony. They are really reliable and have better heat management system compared to others. And if you can get a 10th Gen i5 for a good deal, then go for it by all means 😊

HP has some good ones but here in UK the best ones which I could find are the Pavilion i5 2 in 1 for about 700£ .. see issue is that adding touchscreen increases the cost of the laptop but in practice it really doesn’t help that much .. I have Dell Inspiron touch and I hardly even remember that it is a touch screen. Like I mentioned in my video, touchscreen or not .. i5 with 8GB RAM is a decent configuration for windows 10 and I had nothing but good experiences with HP laptops compared to others which I used including Dell, Asus, Acer, Sony and Lenovo .. hope this helps 😊

Akhil james I would recommend to get at least i5 with 8GB RAM. Doesn’t matter if it is not HP as Asus is a decent brand as well. i5 processor will be more future proof and can support resource intensive tasks. i3 is ok if you are only going to use it for casual web browsing and watching videos.

It’s been over a year and it does run smoothly. And it is very quiet which I really like about the laptop. I ran MySQL server along with MS office, Webserver, etc without any issues or lack in speed 😊

i5 with 8GB RAM is a decent middle ground when it comes to Windows laptops. Unless you start pushing it by doing 4K video editing or playing graphic intensive games, think you should be fine with it. You are talking about graphic intensive games here my friend. You'd be better off getting an i7 with Nvidia graphics card and maybe 16GB of RAM. The minimum requirement of the game will be supported by this laptop but seriously, you would be better off with a more powerful machine or even better, the PlayStation 4.
