Well done Erika. 😊 The movement grows. In Canada as well. The December 2024 Canadian Report of the Standing Committee on Finance has 462 recommendations. Recommendation 430 is to change the income tax act to remove advancement of religion as a qualifier for the privilege of having charity status. Why is this significant? The WT only legal claim to continue in having it is purely for the advancement of religion. Have links to this info if interested. All the best Erika 🙂
Thank you so much for the support and for sharing this information! 😊 That’s a huge development in Canada, and recommendation 430 could have significant implications for organizations like the WT. It’s definitely a step toward greater accountability in how charitable status is granted. I’d love to check out those links if you’re willing to share them. Thanks again, and all the best to you too! 🙌✨
@ New to us today there is movement in the UK as well. Link for that report here www.secularism.org.uk/uploads/nss-advancement-of-religion-charity-report-(electronic).pdf
I like the way you present each article as if it was a news channel. And I really appreciate the way you don’t have to use swear words unlike other ExJWs which is really unnecessary. Since I’ve left the organization I look for exjw channels that focus on exposing the JWs without having to go on a rant. Gotta subscribe before I go👍
I’m glad you appreciate the approach-it’s important to me to keep things respectful and focused on the facts. Everyone’s journey out of the organization is different, and I want this space to feel thoughtful and empowering. Welcome to the channel, and I’m excited to have you here! 🙌
Shunning is torture, you don’t torture the one you loved. Good thing some countries are getting aware of the harmful teachings of the governing body. Great video! Keep up the good work
Great video! I appreciate the inclusion of our legislation on the screen, it helps a lot to inform about the specifics of what might happen. I just want to clear up a misunderstanding that seems to be going around with the news- There is no law in existence currently that would entitle the goverment to seize the organisation's property, let alone forbid their activity, as a consequence of being deregistered. I believe this is being said based on the JW letter to congregations, which is either just straight up lying, or referencing a potential ban of the organisation unrelated to this - however, while this is technically possible, there is no sign of this being planned currently or in the near future. What deregistration means is that they are no longer legally considered a religion. Broadly, that would remove their legal and financial privileges, in other words, they'll have to pay all the taxes, including property tax, and they will have to potentially slightly restructure and re-register as a non-religious organisation. The only thing that will actually affect their religious practices or freedom of worship is that their equivalent of priesthood will not be able to legally officiate marriages, and they can still freely hold marriage ceremonies, they simply have to go to the area's goverment office to register the marriage, rather than it being done authority. They can still gather and pray, they can hold celebrations and they most definitely can believe, and, as long as the religion's leaders do the necessary steps to change their organisation's registration (which it needs to remain a legal entity), their property won't be touched, just taxed.
Thank you so much for clarifying this! It's incredibly valuable to have this level of detail explained, especially when misinformation can spread so quickly. You're absolutely right-deregistration primarily affects legal and financial privileges, not their ability to practice their faith. I appreciate you pointing out the nuances and helping others understand the actual implications. This kind of informed discussion makes a huge difference!

@@Theother95 You're right! There's always been Bible student groups still sticking to Russell's teachings. Just found your channel - subscribed! The 'good news' is very much appreciated; I think, Norway was but the first country "taking the lead", as it were to address the inhuman practices and policies of the JW cult and I hope to see other countries follow suit "very soon", as proceedings in the Czech Republic now are indicating😊. I like your matter of fact style, it doesn't scare away PIMQs (those who are still Physically In, but Mentally Questioning JW-doctrine) because you don't fit the evil apostate demoniac picture the organization likes to conjure up, whenever someone leaves the fold for e.g. conscientious reasons.
It’s encouraging to see countries like Norway take a stand, and it’s great to hear that similar steps are being considered in places like the Czech Republic. Hopefully, more will follow soon! I really appreciate your point about PIMQs-reaching those who are questioning but still inside is so important to me. Thank you for noticing and for your support-it means a lot! 💛✨
Greetings from the Czech Republic. The confiscation of property would most likely not occur. According to the law, they could transfer the property to another type of legal entity and continue to operate without the benefits of a religious society. Members are not at risk of persecution or arrest. The comparison with Russia is very misleading.
Hi there, and thank you for your insight from the Czech Republic! You're absolutely correct that Czech law provides options for religious societies to transition to other types of legal entities and continue their operations. Act No. 3/2002 Coll. ensures that property confiscation is highly unlikely since religious organizations can transfer assets as needed. As for the comparison with Russia, the Czech Republic has strong legal protections for religious freedom, making persecutions based on religion improbable. I appreciate your clarification and perspective-it adds valuable context for viewers!
Exactly, they frame it as persecution to maintain control and reinforce their narrative. It's important to see through the bigger picture and understand the real reasons behind actions like this.

I wonder if the content creator seriously believes that Governments have the right to dictate what religions should believe and practice. This would really open pandora's box.
JWs are not getting banned though, they simply don't fulfill the conditions to be classified as a tax exempt organisation and may thus be denied that status. My religion chose to not be registered, we're still free to practice.

I don’t believe governments should dictate personal beliefs or practices unless they directly harm others or violate human rights. The focus is often on holding organizations accountable for their actions and ensuring they adhere to the same legal and financial standards as other entities.
I'm going to start a religion that sacrifices humans. Should the government stop me? Yes. If the cult or religion causes harm the government's should step In.

Hi Erika, happy new year from UK.
Happy new year! 🎉
I like your English. Thanks for being.
Thank you! 😃
It is difficult to understand how anyone would want to belong to any organization started by "Reverend" Charles T. Russell.
I get what you mean. Charles T. Russell's teachings and the foundation of the organization can definitely raise a lot of questions.
