If your looking for the ability of upgrades, the 5000 series is the way to go for now.

I like the Dell Latitude 7440 (from a former financial underwriter). It has all the ports, single core performance quick punch, and a nice professional look to it. One of the better laptops for data analysts using Power BI.
Only thing missing is the new ARC GPU for gaming while traveling. Hopefully the Dell 7460 will have it. Just want to play Forza Horizon 5.
