  • In November, we traveled around beautiful Taiwan by car for two weeks! We visited majestic cities where the lantern-lit streets of the old town intertwine with modern skyscrapers stretching to the sky, we traveled through misty hills covered with lush jungles and green tea terraces, and along the rocky shores of the fierce ocean, we met many friendly and smiling people! 🤗 Thank you Taiwan and Taiwanese people for such a warm welcome! 🇱🇹❤️🇹🇼
    Our travel itinerary:
Day1: We walked around Hsinchu and started a roadtrip by car. We visited the giant Maitreya Buddha and Lion's Head Mountain with many temples scattered on it.
Day2: we visited Sun Moon Lake. A scenic road surrounds the lake, and there are many beautiful temples along the way. In Puli, we visited the Chung Tai Chan Buddhist Monastery and the golden Buddha. We spent the night in Renai town.
Day3: we walked on the Qingjing Skywalk and drove the most scenic road crossing Taiwan all the way to the Taroko Gorge.
Day4: We visited the most beautiful places of Taroko Gorge. The gorge is only 18 kilometers long, the blue-green Liwu River flows through it, and marble mountain walls covered with lush vegetation rise from it, a narrow winding highway runs parallel to the river, from which several footpaths branch off. The Temple of the Eternal Spring sits on a steep slope directly above the waterfall. Swallow Grotto - a 1km long road branches off from the main highway and leads through many tunnels. Cimuting Pavilion and Bridge are worth a short stop. Shakadang trail leads along a crystal clear river with emerald pools. Tianxiang - the only town in the Taroko Gorge. There is the Taroko Pudu Bridge, Xiangde Buddhist Temple and Tianfeng Pagoda stand on top of the hill. In the afternoon, we went to Qixingtan Beach to admire the ocean, and also visited Hualien temples. We drove along the coast road all the way to Taitung. On the way, we stopped at Sanxiantai to admire the dragon-shaped bridge.
Day5: We arrived at Kenting National Park for the forest trails. We reached Kaohsiung and walked around the city at night, we visited Glory Pier, The Pier2 Art Center and Love River.
Day6: We climbed to the Shoushan LOVE lookout for sunrise. Later we drove to Lotus Pond - an artificial body of water with many impressive temples. We liked the Spring and Autumn, Zuoying Yuandi pavilions and the Confucius Temple the most. We visited the Zhongxing Tower and the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum and Monastery, in the evening we walked along the Tianliao Moon World trail. We arrived in Tainan and spent evening on Shennong Street.
Day7: We walked around Tainan, visited Leurmen Matzu and Madou Daitian temples, Wushantou Reservoir, Jingliao Old Street.
Day8: We drove to the Alishan region and spent the day walking trails of Alishan National Forest.
Day9: We wandered around Alishan. We drove past tea terraces and densely grown bamboo groves, beautiful panoramas opened in front of our eyes. We went on a hike on the Zhukeng Stream Trail that leads through the jungle and beautiful waterfalls. In the evening, we reached the Songlong Rock waterfall.
Day10: We visited the most beautiful places around Taichung City: Baiyang Temple, Wufeng Lin Family House, Rainbow Village, Buddha on Bagua Hill. In the evening we arrived in Lukang, a charming old town, with more than 200 temples. We reached Jiufen town after dark.
Day11: In the morning we walked around Jiufen Old Town. Later we went on Baoshishan trail, visited the Golden Waterfall, admired the Nanya rocks on the ocean coast, hiked the Bitoujiao trail, visited the town of Shifen, which is famous for its waterfall and lanterns released from the train tracks into the sky. We visited the abandoned ‘UFO village’ - an unfinished project with houses resembling spaceships. After dark, we admired the temples and panoramic views of Zhong Zheng Park. We spent the night in Beitou.
Day12: we started the day at Thermal valley - smoking emerald lake with a temperature of 80-100 degrees. We visited Wuji Tianyuan, Yuandao Guanyin, Zhulinshan Guanyin temples. We spent the afternoon exploring Taipei and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial. After dark, we visited the Bangka Lungshan Temple and the Ximending Walking District.

Oh nice. What brand do you use for filter?
I got the same camera and lens. But also a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8
Not sure if 2-5 stop is enough for midday. 😊

Nice! We used Hoya 1.5-8 stops but lately switched to NISI 1-5 stops, colors with NISI looks more natural 😊

2-5 is quite enough during bright day most of the time for video, but you probably need more for long exposure 👍
