I am Taichung citizen over 30 years. The MRT (Subway) of Taichung seems will get started at the end of 2020. Therefore, don’t come to Taichung before 2021 Spring. Otherwise you can only take taxis, buses or riding bicycle and motorcycles. The weather of Taichung is very good but speaking of the public transportation, Taipei is way better than Taichung.
Very nice choice ! Taichung is super underrated. This city represents "the center" in many ways. As people say in your video, the weather, the food, all the parks and hiking trails, night markets and the pace of life.. Everything is well balanced. Thanks for this slice of Taiwan. Taichung looks so nice now and they'll have a subway system soon. The weather is much better than Taipei for sure. Might be time for a move. Nice vid, thanks.
I lived in Taichung for 15 years , I think yes Taichung is better than Taipei in someways like buildings and weathers ,however the walkways(outside of Xitun) and public transportation is worse.
Taiwan is a save place, the only thing that can kill you is the traffic, and most parts of Taiwan lacks walkways, because in the past when Taiwanese governor planed the construction, they only think about cars, not the walking people , so the result is many Taiwanese outside of Taipei prefer riding a scooter instead of walking to station and take public transportation ,because walking became a dangerous thing when you don't have walkways, and the more people use scooters the more difficult to find a place to park, so people just park their scooter on the already tiny walkway, this vicious circle can only end if they start built more walkways and MRT as soon as they can, unfortunately this won't happen in Taichung because the central government only cares about northern parts of Taiwan, this is also the reason why Taichung MRT have planed so long and still only one lane is under constructing now.

Of course I've heard of Taichung. As a little kid I lived there in the 1950's. My dad was a US Army advisor stationed at CCK Airbase. My earliest memories are from this place. I think this is the best video of traveling in Taichung so far. I've been there for like 2 weeks, for university stuff, and this video covers a lot of aspects that I proudly told my colleagues about Taichung, the smile from the old man, I personally experienced that, people there is so nice. I miss Taichung so much :') The title is asking that is it better than Taipei, my personal answer is yes. I agree with the lady on the video, Taipei is crowded, as a visitor, you might not enjoy the city. One last thing, if you are in Taichung, or have a plan to visit, try to visit the 921 Earthquake Museum. I think that is one of the best tourist places in Taichung.
You are the best travel vlogger! Sorry, I never heard of Taichung except now. A very beautiful city in all respect! I dream to visit there one day in my life lol!
Taiwan may be my retirement destination. I grew up in Shanghai. I like Taiwan better. People are nicer, it is free country. It speaks Chinese and has Chinese food.
Taiwan has been a part of China since ancient times. Ninety-five percent of Taiwanese are Chinese. China is also a free country. Communism originated in Germany and guided the French revolution. I had business trips in Taichung several times. It's an industrial city that so lovely I don't mind to live in. The lack of MRT is compensated by having a free bus ride anywhere within the city! You missed my favorite place in Taichung which is Gaomei Wetlands. Best place for watching sunset. PS. I've seen in many videos that you're also a good car spotter. Thumbs up for the good work!
Thanks so much for your effort in carrying out this video. I am oversea Chinese in an Asian country, so far have not visited this city even I have longed for . It is amazing, a nice combination of modern vs tradition with natural climate factors, entirely like what you think in your introduction. thks
Awww.. this made me nostalgic!! I grew up in this city! I spent the first 4 years of my life here! You should have also visited TungHai University just across the bridge from the National Theater. you'll find the LUCE CHAPEL there by the late architect I.M. Pei I plan to go back one day to my roots and be married in that chapel!
I binge watched all your videos this weekend and I felt like covering them myself. I don't have go through lot of planning, vacation, tiresome travel, reservations etc and your 4K coverages are more than what I could have explored. I am sitting here in my bed room and watching the world through your perception, camera lens and youtube. Thank you!
I agree with you! Sometimes due to my lack of proper knowledge of the bus system sometimes I had to wait 2 hours for my way to my friend's home +from the railway station+

Awesome I love the feel of Chinese cities, I've been to Singapore, and your tours of these cities reminded me of that trip in 2010... The people are friendly, and helpful and they don't mind talking either...
I haven't heard it before . But the way you present is exceptionally attractive and educating. The other thing I noticed about Taiwan's second largest city is the fact that people hardly speak English and so any visitor will have experience difficulty interacting with people.

The title is asking that is it better than Taipei, my personal answer is yes. I agree with the lady on the video, Taipei is crowded, as a visitor, you might not enjoy the city.
One last thing, if you are in Taichung, or have a plan to visit, try to visit the 921 Earthquake Museum. I think that is one of the best tourist places in Taichung.
Love Taichung. Lived there for a bit several years ago. Wonderful city and people.
Taichung is a beautiful city. Very convenient and livable city. I love my city and take pride in Taichung. Welcome everyone to Taichung!!
I had not heard about Taichung; thanks for posting this very satisfying report.

You are the best travel vlogger! Sorry, I never heard of Taichung except now. A very beautiful city in all respect! I dream to visit there one day in my life lol!
3 years already in Taichung, nothing can beat Taichung for the comfortness for living as a foreigner. I'm glad i came to this city
在台中3年了,好習慣。真的愛台中

Nice video and beautiful city. Hope I could visit this city next time.
Taiwan may be my retirement destination. I grew up in Shanghai. I like Taiwan better. People are nicer, it is free country. It speaks Chinese and has Chinese food.
you are welcome
Taiwan is not a country.
哪能啦?上海宁英文噶塌台跑出来组撒? 刚中文帮伊拉逮巴字听听好嘞
The United Nations doesn't recognize Taiwan as a country. Stop dreaming.
Taiwan has been a part of China since ancient times. Ninety-five percent of Taiwanese are Chinese. China is also a free country. Communism originated in Germany and guided the French revolution. I hope you can learn more about history and not be taken by Europe Capitalism brainwashes, the split that the Chinese people hate the most is a dangerous bottom line
this was really great! didnt realize Taiwan was so modern. I love the mix of greenery and city life.
Beautiful place, well done.
First time heard the name Taichung.
Thank you for the great video of the city.
Thumbs up for the good work!
yep!!!there is very beautiful view and sunset in Gaomei Wetlands
Thanks so much for your effort in carrying out this video. I am oversea Chinese in an Asian country, so far have not visited this city even I have longed for . It is amazing, a nice combination of modern vs tradition with natural climate factors,
entirely like what you think in your introduction. thks
台中很漂亮,很想去看看
thank you so much for showing my home town!! You are so right about people there, they are friendly and decend.
Awww.. this made me nostalgic!! I grew up in this city! I spent the first 4 years of my life here!
You should have also visited TungHai University just across the bridge from the National Theater. you'll find the LUCE CHAPEL there by the late architect I.M. Pei
I plan to go back one day to my roots and be married in that chapel!
Thanks again for sharing this nice city of Taichung!...from your dubai to qatar vlogs..now Taichung city!..God Bless..
What a wonderful city!!
Thank you!
6:33 actually, there's a new MRT system going to be open very soon in Taichung
Love the shots! It's very beautiful! Appreciate your interviewing people, it added a nice touch. Your video makes me want to visit. Thank you!
Was planning planning on going to Taiwan until they closed the borders 😞
beautiful city i will visit there someday when pandemic is over thanks for this beautiful video
I really love Taichung overall, but, there's one thing that would make the city much better, which is pedestrian friendly
I agree with you! Sometimes due to my lack of proper knowledge of the bus system sometimes I had to wait 2 hours for my way to my friend's home +from the railway station+
exactly
Urban paradise. I love it. Wish to visit in the near future.
Welcome to Taichung 👋
Wonderful city. thanks for sharing your experience.
6:32, MRT in Taichung is currently under construction.
And now it's done🎉

One beautiful country to visit!

My son live there my wife and my been there 3 time .
We love Taiwan
No, I had not heard of Taichung before this video, thanks.
