Just a wonderful song by a group of awesomely talented musicians. Couldn't agree with you more about Ian Gillan - probably my favourite vocalist. Nice reaction Rebeka
Good song. Yes Deep Purple has a mellow side also. A good reaction is Deep Purple No No No Beat Club German TV. 1971. Excellent close ups of them performing. Take 2 version
Thank you Rebeka for reacting to this version of when a blind man .....absolutely amazing, really great version. I know this song well heard it a hundred times but not heard this version before, stunning performances loved it.
Seems like most people want to see reactions to Deep Purples early stuff (pre 1976). They have a lot of great stuff starting with the 1984 reuniting with Perfect Strangers, House of Blue Light, Slaves & Masters, The Battle Rages On and more. Steve Morse is no Ritchie Blackmore but then Ritchie is no Steve. Lovely passionate reaction to a great song.👍😄❤️🤟🎵
Deep Purple 1970-1974 (In Rock - Burn) was arguably the best hard rock band ever. Deep Purple 1984 and onwards is just another boring rock band. Almost feels like sacrilege.
One of the best Purp songs pre 76 is one of their least known songs sort of. That is of course Soldier of Fortune 1974. This song is such an under rated gem it's just not funny. Sadly Purp has never released it as a single.
You have to listen to the Original off Machine Head. No one plays this like Ritchie Blackmore. Ian Gillian performed this live with Jeff Healey a blind guitarist who unfortunately we lost him to soon. He did a great job and I am sure since Jeff was blind I am sure this song went to his heart and soul.
I love you (well mad fanboy crush lol) , I love this song, I love your reactions and the people who thumbed down on this have no soul. Yours, however, is radiant here.#1Fanboy
Havent heard this song in awhile.some very solid blues here.damn fine vocal too.speaking of the blues theres a guy named Stevie Ray Vaughn.......as always loved your reaction dear.
The vocals on this are used by many singing coaches. If you search TH-cam you'll find them explaining all the amazing vocal gymnastics he goes through, ranges, scales and all kinds
I’m not sure, but I think this is the first time I’ve seen you react to an out and out blues song. For some reason I knew you would also love the blues. Real blues is the only type of music where I can listen to anything, no matter who does it, and enjoy it. I have yet to hear any blues that I don’t like. I think that must indicate something. 😀
This one is in its own unique way of text and music Deep Purples' best song. It proves they weren´t only a typical rock band of that era, it proves they had so much more music knowledge up their sleeves. The text has followed me through my whole life from my early teens the first time I heard it till now. What I would recommend you to do is to listen to it when the vocal coach Beth Roars analyzes it. Now, this is up to you to give your impression of the music you choose to listen to, of course. But what Beth has to say about Ian Gillian and his singing, and the song in general on this is actually interesting.
*Rebeka* wasn't this AMAZING...? 1/3 of what they use to call *The Unholy trinity* Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin & Deep Purple..!!!!! I'm happy to see your channel growing big time hun.! As I commented earlier concerning Deep Purples later material, check out King of Dreams and Truth Hurts off the Slaves and Masters album. This was the Mark II lineup except for vocals which were done by former Rainbow vocalist Joe Lynn Turner. Thanks dear!!
Great Performance. Hope you get to Smoke On The Water recorded by Queen, Pink Floyd, Rush, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Yes. I like your new backdrop, good lighting and contrast.
I remember hearing this for the 1st time and was blown away by this sad blue song. I'd been listening to DP for about 2 years before I heard this great song. It's to bad Blackmore hated the song. He never played it live with DP and was cut from the Machine Head album. Sometimes Ritchie was a fool, not often. But as strong headed as he was, I can see no one in the band fighting for the song.
"Sometimes Richie was a fool"? Maybe the blues takes a lot out ione playing it (it does actually)instead of being a juke box and playing songs because people yell them out or expect it. Just sayin' Richie is opinionated, and he has that right. People expect him to stilll play Deep Purple songs because THEY want it.
Nice bluesy intro followed by superb vocals by Ian Gillan. This song strays a bit from Deeps hard hitting rock, even more bluesy than Smoke imo, just shows how diverse they are. Thx Rebeka, great honest reaction :)
Hi there, love you channel. Check out a band called Dirty Loops performing "Rock You". You will be blown away with these guys. Absolute musical geniuses!
I ended my teenage years with this kind of music, with Ian Gillan's iconic voice. While I like Steve Morse I much prefer Ritchie Blackmore's guitar solo. It is simple and beautiful and in my opinion blends in better with the song. I like your reactions, I see you enjoy these songs. Too bad you weren't around when this music was happening. And yet, better late than never.
Hi Rebeka, if you enjoyed this, give Stevie Ray Vaughan, Texas Flood, live at the El Mocombo a listen. You will be amazed and you won't be sorry. Oh, I'm new to your channel and really enjoy it.
I so adore you 💓 please hear the original from Machine Head. My friend of many years passed away this song is my feeling of him. Blackmore plays with such control. Please hear it

your wonderful reaction, right to the soul. 'found a reason for the things we do' says it all. Tremendous.
Thank you for FEELING the music. There are so many reactions that don’t really FEEL the music. You do!!!

I wonder if it was Morse's request to add this gem to the set-list, glad they have played it quite often ever since he joined the band.
Ian Gillan’s vocals is legendary
Masterpiece

Sometimes, words are useless..! I've always loved this so touching song (1972). Your reaction is full of sensibility...
Thank you! 😊🎼🎸
His vocals are more amazing on the earlier live version (he's wearing red pants). Does one of his famous screams at the end. I love his voice.
Keep up the nice work, Rebeka
Mais uma aquisição desta apresentadora de eleição, de rock and roll como é óbvio. 👍🌹

Good song to listen to while sitting outside on a cool summers night enjoying a cocktail and a joint. Or one or the other, or even stone cold sober.

Ironic that Ritchie hated it yet wrote Soldier of Fortune when he was in Rainbow. Same shade and bluesy colors.
Good version but I always loved the original studio version best.
You need to listen to the studio version, it has more feeling in the guitar.
