Nice video, I subbed! I like the black, I think if I was to copy it I would use blackboard paint and use the cabinet as a notice board. Would be useful in a family home perhaps!
I have doubts about it, but eventually decided not to do it, and used matt paint. I love the simple appearance, and a chalkboard would disturb that. But if you do not mind it, you should definitely use a blackboard paint, adding an additional function to the cabinet. Good luck with your cabinet!

That went differently than I had hoped. I made the groove on the top deeper than the groove at the bottom. But the depth was not enough, so I needed a clamp. Love your work. But I really think you would get more subscribers if you talked about the building process. What materials, why you chose a particular method to do things, things like that. Just my opinion.

That really shouldn't be a problem. Its a really dark gray (color code is S 8000-N). The brand is called Wijzonol.

I finished the wood with clear satin waterbased varnish (701) made by Rambo. I have two layers of varnish applied to it.

Just glue. The back gives additional strength.
