Just a suggestion.... the bracket with 8 screws that holds the old vents in.... you can grind out the inner back lip with a Dremel or rotozip and cut the fins off the outside of the new vents. Then you can screw the bracket in to the dash with the new vents and hot glue or super glue them in if you wish. They are so secure, you almost don't even need glue because they sit in there nice and snug. I've done 2 Stingers so far and it only takes an extra 10 minutes or so.
@@VividVisual How much was each vent? I hate Hyundai vents that little tab breaks off of them a lot. Had one on my Gencoupe break it was replace by the dealer guess they cost bucks if you want to buy one.
The vents look awesome for sure, but I’m not a fan of the cutting and gluing. (No pun intended lol) I wish they made a direct replacement. Good video tho 👊 clear cut directions
I used hot glue to hold mine in place. Only time will tell if the cured hot glue will hold up to extreme temperatures. But for me hot glue seemed better than super glue. Looking back on it I would've used something like loctite extreme glue. Also I tapped into the interior light fuse. The lights come on when you unlock the doors and go off when lock the doors. They also go off after about 10 minutes or so once the car goes to sleep if you forget to lock your doors.
Tim Morales has a good idea his post is just a few below mine. Simply super gluing it seems kind of cheap especially if you live in a hot humid climate like I do in Naples Florida I have a feeling it would break overtime
If the air vents reset back to red every time I turn the car off and it doesn't remember the color I had previously, is the a box issue ir a wiring issue?
Trying to understand the purpose of the grinding/cutting if they aren't being slid into spot. I'm considering trying to return these as there is a slight gap when put in place. Wasnt expecting that at all when they were purchased. Since there was mention of cutting the tabs, I thought that these vents would actually overlap the dash panel creating a sort of bezel, but they do not.
They slide back into the old bracket. When you screw the bracket into the back of the dash the vents are sandwiched in there and can't hardly move. There's no need for gluing if you don't want to. I did just as a precautionary measure.
@@jorgerocha3545 No unfortunately, I didn't take pictures. I did mine a couple weeks ago and then I did my friends stinger on Saturday. It just seems a lot more secure than gluing the new vents into the back of the dash.
@@CarCrazyGhost Yes, you do have to trim the fins on the edge of the new vents to get them to fit. And it is a snug fit. I suppose you could cut them with a sharp razor knife, but it would be a pain.
Hello, I have a request if you can show exactly how to make an electrical connection in a model without ambient lighting (this part in the video is not readable for me). Thank You
Just ordered these from the store, I thought they'd be a direct replacement. Once I heard superglue and saw the cutting of bracket I want to return them right away.
You cut and super glued something to your car. And people are impressed ? Maybe I'm not a "real" stinger owner. Wtf. I did some ricer shit in my P plate days. But dayummmm

That's how I did it as well. Much cleaner looking too with the OEM bezels.
Thanks for this!!

@@cindysue5474 it was only $200 total I believe
@@VividVisual 200 total thats great the dealer was saying 175 each for my Gencoupe.Looking at getting the Kona N to start on.

I don’t see anything in the description
Tap on the description of the video. There are 2 links there.
Yep there is two links there now maybe I was a little late to put it up
Would love to do so many things super clear just not the type to not break anything .. good looking cars
Ya it always turns out super nice if you take the time to do it yourself :)
great video guys!!
Thank you!
in this video where did you put the wire tap into which specific fuse?
If I purchase these, do I need to install them in your Kia stinger? I’d prefer to install them in mine.
You can install them in yours instead of mine for an extra charge of .02 cents

Would be possible for you to install it for me?

What’s the app used i got the vents with NO PAPER work
Just curious but the only ground your achieving is the screw.. you connected it to plastic .Feels like a bad ground choice correct?
Hey can I get the link for the carbon fiber stuff you used on the interior especially the doors and center console?
Nice job, they look sick! But the superglue is a big turn off for me. I wish they made a direct replacement.
Is it possible to make the rear 2 vents (behind the main/center arm rest) also led lit?
Btw, AMAZING job!
Not that I know of m, thank you!
You can, just extend the wiring and tap into the same power source for the middle vents, they'll all change together if wired right.
This would be really cool, if they were jst regular kia stinger light up vents, instead of jst looking exactly like Mercedes vents.
They are Mercedes’ Benz vents haha I like them better honestly
How long did it take for the complete install, just curious
Like an hour
Great video. Wish we could wire this into factory harness
I think you can but then your restricted to 3 colors
@@VividVisual lol I'm fine with that. I like shit to match. My little OCD
damn, it looks so nice.
does this effect your warrenty?
I don’t think so

Anybody do this install in houston?
Yeah I don’t think a factory vent bracket is “junk” when superglue is used instead....
I did it way easier. You don’t need to remove the left side. Just yank below the push start to you can remove the long trim piece.
If anyone in north jersey could do this for me i will pay your generously
😷🙏🤙

wow thats some low tier tuning. u'd better use some plastic melted into the old panel rather than superglue
Why, why, why, why, why?! Why ruin your car like this?!
All that for vents?...i thought the stock ones looked good 🤷
