  • This video highlights the new features of Sim Innovation's Air Manager 3.5 and demonstrates some of the realistic panels that are now obtainable by the home computer simulator enthusiast.
    NOTE: The new Baron B58 and Cessna 172 layouts that show the Garmin G530/430 and GTN750 are sub panels of the PAY panels. You need to buy the basic panel to have access to all.
    Then go to the Panels tab, click Panel(green circle with white +) and select the basic panel. When you click NEXT you will be given a choice of available layouts for that panel.

    Thanks Russ. Can you do a video on how to place the x-Plane G1000 displays into a iPad panel running Air Manager 3.5? A panel is
    available for the CirrusVision SF50 but I do not know how to fill the empty frames. Is there a link detailing how this can be done? I too
    like flying the Cirrus. This video presents some insight -- but maybe it cannot be done. THANK YOU !!!!

  • @rbarlow
    @rbarlow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not possible. You need to be able to drag the popped out G1000 Displays fron X-Plane 11 to the monitor with the bezel. Obviously that monitor must be connected to the PC running XP11. I think that panel was included by accident and will be removed and no the next Air Manager iPad release. There is a iPad app for both the G1000 PFD and MFD available from Simionic available on the Apple App Store

    Can instruments overlay portions of other instruments? I'd like to use the Boeing 737 landing gear indicator lights from the gear handle you developed with the Zibo ND covering the gear handle itself, and use a physical gear handle. In addition to the lights, can they be expected to illuminate in this case? Love your videos, very close to adding Air Manager across my 737 simulator !

    Great work Russ. Your videos are very informative. I note that the SF50 panel has a grey background even though "Transparent" is selected at the bottom of the screen. Do you know how to achieve that? I'm putting together a panel for a C177 that I fly, and if I choose transparent then I can see the desktop through the gaps in the instruments, or if I choose a solid color, then I can't see through the GNS530 overlay. Also, love that C172 G1000 panel you built, is that available anywhere for purchase or download? Cheers!

Another question...I have a couple of complex GA planes (Mooney and Arrow) and wouldn't mind incorporating the correct Airspeed steam instrument, so I can find out when I'm reaching Vno or heaven forbid Vne. Hi Russ, loving your videos. If I wanted to use the RealityXP GTN 750 with the C182T panel from SimInnovations, how would I do that? I notice that the C182T panel does not have a layout that has the cutout for the GTN750+650 combo. Any advice for me?

    • @rbarlow
      @rbarlow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Charath Ranganathan just create a layout with an open space with the Right aspect ratio in the comm/nav Stack to put the 750. set the panel background to transparent. Turn click through on. Then position the 750 in the opening. If you are using a background image for the panel it is slightly harder. You need to edit the panel background to have a Transparent opening where the 750 sits do it can show through. The select background Image for the panel and set the background Color toehize with opacity 0 do there is a clear background behind the background image. The end result is the AM panel with a clear cutout and transparent background color and the 750 behind it all but seen and clickable (on touch if a touch monitor)

      Moshe Aron Epstein I believe so since all you need is the ability to show the GPS in a separate movable and resizable window that can be positioned on the desktop to work alongside the Air Manager Panel. I think the F1 GTN can run on a separate computer networked with the sim which Air Manager does as well. Is that true?

  • @mcotherman5957
    @mcotherman5957 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Russ, When you are showing your overlay for the GNS', how is your system configured? I believe I remember you saying you had at least 2 machines networked??? Is AM on the master or a slave? I can't get the GPS' to respond to touch. AM has to be on a machine with X-Plane on it to get the GNS' on screen? I'm having all kinds of issues running master and slave systems. Nothing is working consistently.

    • @rbarlow
      @rbarlow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      M Cotherman I have found since air manager 3.0 that I have no problem running my three visuals and my touch screen on a single computer. It is essential that the GPS screen be connected to the same computer as the master copy of XP11 if networked Setup is used. Obviously to get the overlay screen from air manager and the GPS screen on the same monitor they have to be on the same computer. Hope this helps if not ask for the questions and I will try to help out further

    • @mcotherman5957
      @mcotherman5957 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! You confirmed what I thought was correct. Something is screwy with my setup and I'm just going to have to figure out what it is. When it works, it's better than sliced bread! AM and your bezels for the GNS' are great! Good work!

      @@rbarlow I have an old i7 laptop running X-Plane and AM networked to my display system that's running a GTX-1080. I found a behavior in X-Plane that is quirky but worked out for great performance. I popped the GNS' out of the 3D panel and then changed the View to "2D panel only." Well the plane doesn't have a 2D panel so the screen went black EXCEPT for the instruments I had undocked. I moved them to where I needed them and great performance. The only thing X-Plane rendered was undocked instruments.

    I have an important question that might be increasing the use of air manager. I have been asking people with xplane10 but can apply to any simulator. In order to see 180, we use three monitors for panoramic views or 3D cockpit also but if the 3D cockpit can be remove(instruments only), then we can use head tracking with if we keep the 3D capabilities. I was told that is not possible but I found one plane that is not finish in xplane10 under experimental planes with name VAN'S AIRCRAFT. When I started, I only see the panoramic view (no instruments or cockpit) but my head tracking was working and I can control head movements in order to have realistic view of the outside. This is fantastic to combine with air manager because you can have only one monitor for the view using head tracking and the second one for air manager instruments. Using four monitors requires a lot of PC. Any idea how we can remove the cockpit with our loosing the 3d capability. Thank you

    • @rbarlow

      casq882 you can use plane maker to remove all the cockpit and airplane textures but I have never done it myself....but people say they have... On the Glideslope , a TH-cam channel removed the right door I think. You might ask him how.

    • @rbarlow
      @rbarlow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check out some of my other videos but yes either way could work. If the surface can run windows then it should support Knobster too. An iPad can be used as an external monitor also ( Duet Display via lightning cable)and it would work with the Knobster. If you run the iPad version of air manager it will not support the Knobster since you cannot display the windows from X plane because they are on a different computer. Look through my videos I think I have all those options demonstrated at one point or another. If you can’t find them I’ll help you.

    • @rbarlow
      @rbarlow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maddog Tungate you can’t do it with the surface pro unless there is a way to use it as a usb display like iPad and android allow. If the surface could run a second copy of X-Plane it could work but a surface can’t run XP. The bottom looks ne is that you need to be able to move the popped out window from X-Plane to the monitor you want to show it on... it needs to be connected to that computer.

      CAVU Companies as long as the new aircraft has a G530 the popped out window will open in the same position and size. If it is not in the newly opened aircraft it will not open but the previous size and location will be retained and it will be opened on that other aircraft. The bottom line is that once a window(530,:430,G1000 PFD or MFD) is popped out and left open until closing the airplane, the size and location and popped out location will be applied to any airplane that has that item in its cockpit. It would be better if these parameters saved uniquely for each airplane but alas LR hasn’t done it that way.
