It's like living with The Gremlins, cute but messy n naughty. Hope yr back into the Bunny Love with a new pet. 😊🐰

      I’m sorry. I lost my netherland dwarf at age 4. Aside from my beagle (who I was strongly bonded with), he was the BEST pet I ever had. Such a cutie and never gave me any trouble. I want to get a lionhead soon but not yet.

      We got a Lionhead male bunny, Jessie, who turned out to be a girl. The vet said it's better to hv 2 Bunnies. So, our baby Jessie has completely changed. Before really chill n loved Cuddles....Now, we r living with The Gremlins. Second Bunny Peaches is a Flop and has really lead her into total mischief. My house resembles a Farmyard but they are very happy. 😊🐰🐰

  • @sidehustlekevin
    @sidehustlekevin ปีที่แล้ว +4

    1st of all: never support breeders. You wouldn't shop for a human baby, why shop for another living being? Adopt. I've adopted two gorgeous lionheads recently and they are amazing.
    2nd of all: don't cage your rabbit. Why would you do such a thing to such a big animal, would you feel comfortable caging your cat that is only a little bit bigger? even if the cat can jump everywhere it wants and bunnies can't? a pen or free-roaming is adviced. if you really don't have a choice, buy the biggest cage possible and still let it out a lot so it can run around. "having enough space to move" is not enough space at all.
    3rd of all: if you can't give your bunny 10000% of your attention (and you can't if you don't work from home, don't have any family members always around etc) get two bunnies. being alone in a cage sounds like a horrible, sad life that I don't wish for any living beings. rabbits are social animals and they NEED company. even if you spend a lot of time with them, consider a second rabbit. just because a bunny will never communicate with you the way it communicate with its own spiecies.

    • @drchilapastrosodrlasmacas438
      @drchilapastrosodrlasmacas438 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ugh, shut up. Supporting reputable, certified breeders, is the way to go. Don't be stupid, humans arent animals and animals aren't human. The only known cases of human breeding efforts were by USA on African American slaves and these giants a British nobleman tried breeding for y'all super soldiers.

    • @potatoscoop
      @potatoscoop ปีที่แล้ว

      i agree with everything except that breeders can be okay if you find a reputable one, since sometimes people want a specific breed or species of an animal for its colors or temperament. i got my bunnies from a friend of a friend who had an accidental litter after rescuing a male rabbit from an online ad thinking they were fixed

    • @sidehustlekevin
      @sidehustlekevin ปีที่แล้ว

      @@potatoscoop I recommend an article from Peta called "Breeders". It highlights everything I would like to say. There's a good summary theyve put: "People who breed dogs and cats (in that case, rabbits too) profit at animals’ expense. There is no such thing as a “responsible” breeder, because for every puppy or kitten who is produced by any breeder, an animal awaiting adoption at an animal shelter loses his or her chance at finding a home-and will be euthanized. Breeders kill shelter animals’ chance to have a life."
      But I still recommend reading it whole because it goes into many nuances!

    • @sidehustlekevin
      @sidehustlekevin ปีที่แล้ว

      @@potatoscoop Also, I don't want to sound harsh, but I feel like if you truly love animals, you wouldn't care about the color of their fur or their temperament to the excent you need a special breeding process.
      Bunnies are actual living beings and it just feels wrong and superior of humans to breed them so they look to our taste.
      I know not everyone wants to adopt an abused rabbit (this is usually why some bunnies act this way), you are not on a mission, you just want a loving companion. But shelters as well as online adoption offer a big range of characteristics. A responsible and educated shelter worker knows how to find a perfect match for you. And what a shelter does that most breeders don't is: they take the animal back if you can't take care of it anymore.
      + A breeder can never guarantee you an animal you've always wanted anyway. Many people take problematic breeds with special needs and then decide they can't take care of them anymore.
      We adopted two lionheads and they are a suffering breed, bred this way by humans to look cute and fluffy. And now we pay huge vet bills, because they are choking on their own hairballs and their teeth grow into their skulls. Breeding is really not good news.

    • @potatoscoop
      @potatoscoop ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sidehustlekevin i understand what you mean and you’re not being harsh, we just have a difference of opinion! i do mostly disagree with the breeding of rabbits because they reproduce so fast it would be hard to sell them all and some would most likely suffer this way. but for birds, i have a bird that i got from a breeder because she was hand raised, meaning she’s much easier to train and work with which is important for me to have as the bird owner and for her not to have gotten so scared she wouldn’t eat the first day and starve because she was so scared of people, she was already used to people and knew how to step up onto my hand, because she is my first bird and there were no birds or bird rescues near me, and i found my bird following me around from her cage. i think breeding birds and a few other types of animals are okay, but they are different from rabbits because they don’t reproduce as quickly as bunnies. i agree with you that there aren’t good bunny breeders, especially ones that breed ones with issues(kinda like people breeding flat headed dogs like pigs or french bulldogs who have many health issues), but i don’t think all animal breeders are bad. the way i see it, you should go to the shelter first to see if you can find the animal you’re looking for, like a bunny or a cat or a dog or a bird, but if you can’t find that animal, it’s ok to look somewhere like craigslist for any rehomings, just make sure they aren’t backyard breeders, and if you still can’t find any rehomings near you, finding a reputable breeder is better than going to the pet store, where they usually come from breeding mills where they don’t care about the “quality” or health of the animals. also ty for recommending me the article i usually read those if i have a google search!

      Bunny like to eat anything and everything they can chomp on. Mine like to eat paper I will have my notebook on bed doing school work and my bunny will jump up on bed and start eating it so fast almost half my notebook is gone by the time I realize and react.(Over exaggerated)
      !! But the one main thing my bunnies go crazy for will literally jump in ur lap and take it out of ur hand. CHIPS!!!! They love chips. It’s crazy. They can be In the other room and hear a bag being opened and come flying to you to see if it’s chips and jumping up to get one. They are both litter trained and spoiled. I love them so much. They can live up to 10 yrs with good care. I rescued my black double lion head a week after Easter bc parents think it’s such a great idea to get bunnies for kids on Easter. The other one I adopted she was living in a small cage with bunny poop everywhere and it was nasty. I told the girl I was take. Her bunny bc she wasn’t taken care of it correctly and my honey need it a fury friend. She didnt care at all. Irresponsible pet owners suck! Rabbits are a lot to handle. They are smart have a lot of energy and have personalities of their own. Mine are my babies! I wish I could have my own bunny farm that’s a dream I have anyways. 🐰🐇❤️❤️❤️
