@@joyprince9784 No dis lady is so stupid she think bunny rabbit need royal treatment. It just a bunny I keep mine in carboard box with one snack a day. Skinny rabbit u ever saw. I feel her to go in a bunny hold hole pool I freak her out Pennywise.
My dwarf is the same, loves begging and her food, occasionally let's us pet... but she mostly seems to not like us otherwise. Her partner is the opposite, a teddy bear basically
10: Hides or runaway from you 9: They bite you 8: They lunge at you 7: Chronic disinterest 6: They don't relax when you're around 5: They flick you off 4: They don't let you pet them 3: They are shaking 2: They thump at you 1: They grunt at you
Mine would do 10, 7, 6, 4, 3 and 2. They didn't grunt, but sometimes they screamed. They wouldn't bite me either, but they did scratch me. I didn't get them young. I suspect their previous experiences with humans hadn't been too great. In spite of everything, I still miss them.
My bunny is the sweetest. When I finished giving him a pat, he'd lick my hand as a thankyou. And I love the way he gives small bites when we do stuff he doesn't like (it's just a tiny nibble).
I rescued my bunny from a terrible condition, he was house in a wirebottom cage with no grass or hay, it was quite cramped with 5+ bunnies in there he was also clearly being picked on/bullied b the others, and when I took him home I gave him fresh water, a HUGE room to be just his, fresh hay and much more, at first he was sceptical about me and his new surroundings and would lunge at me and anyone who came across him, now he’s the sweetest most loving bunny EVER
I’m going through that same situation with my bunny and he still won’t let me pet him and I have had him for about three weeks now. He comes and associates me and my girlfriend with treats so he comes to us when he sees us but when he notices we don’t have treats and tries to pet him he runs away. Now he can sleep like 4 feet away from us and be fine but when or what can I do to get him to be more cuddly
Mine use to scratch me when i use to hold her. Bad scratches which bled. Its a female dwarf rabbit and its been 2m since ive got her. Shes settled in and lets me pet her, she comes grooms me, lick my leg, jumps on leg for a treat. Shes comfortable to lay on the floor while we are eating, playing, she rans n jumps around.
I was also new to having a bunny a few years ago. We rescued a single bunny and tried to give it a nice home with us. But she would bite us every single time we came near. this behaviour continued. She really bit us hard to the point of bleeding. I was so sad that it felt like she didn't accept us. So I decided to do some research. and learned that bunnies are in fact group animals. So we decided to get her a companion. And I have to say.... Her behaviour changed instantly. she has never ever bit us again. (she does sometimes still nibble us, but just to warn us we should give her some space; but it's more of a gentle bite to let us know.) they where also a really good match since they got along from the first day. (just humping but never being aggresive)
My rabbit used to thump at me whenever i got close, so i convinced my mom to let me move her inside and freeroam her in my room. Now she's the nicest bun out there. She loves her head pats and her ear rubs. She's just a bundle of joy. I was really suprised at how much she changed under just a few days. 🥰
Hi Lorelei! My parents didn't want to free roam my bun before, but after a lot of persuasion, Fluffy is now partially free roam! My house has stairs, and it is very hard to bunny proof it, so Fluffy free roams when we are home! She has a large expen to go into at night! Thank you so much Lorelei and Lennon! EDIT: wow I didn't realise my comment actually got likes and replies lol
I'm sure we can all agree that Lennon is so lucky to have Lorelei as her GORGEOUS bunny mum! You guys are so adorable together! It always makes me smile when you upload! Keep up the great work and thank you for educating us Lennon the bunny! 🥰🐰 Can you also give a small treat to Lennon so she knows how much her fans adore you and Lennon, please? ❤🐰 You and Lennon always make our day! 🌈🥰🐰"Rabbits are just some of the most amazing pets" That couldn't be a more true statement! RABBITS RULE! 🐰 Go BUNNY LOVERS! By the way, my family also orders Hello Fresh veggies sometimes for our rabbits!
I had two bunnies as a kid and one of them was abnormally aggressive. She had huge mood swings and was sweet and cute one moment and aggressive the next. Sometimes she wanted to be cuddled, then she scratched and bit me. But she wasn't just aggressive towards me. Her main victim was the other bunny. We tried separating them to protect him but man, she was not easy to handle... she was like a cat in a bunny costume.
One exception I think exists to the bite rule (at least as far as I've experienced) is when grooming I want to note. One thing I've noticed with my rabbit is that he'll start licking my arms after a long petting session with him he'll nip by elbows because they have calluses. It's clearly not aggressive since when I try to pet him again he insists on giving me love instead, and will lick other areas. I think it's because he wants to help removing the callus, it never really hurts either so I don't consider it 'biting' and more like 'nipping' as a way to groom you. He's done this with other people as well that, whenever he encounters a callus, he'll try to nip it off. Maybe this isn't what you mean by biting, idk, I just felt it was good to mention. I have experienced an aggressive bunny so I do know the difference between a true bite and just my rabbit trying to bite off a callus.
I've seen most of these from my current bun. She was a rescue, and I think her original keepers didn't handle her properly. Most buns are not fond of being picked up (though some acclimate to it, some of them even do so quickly), but mine? Oh, if I stand up and walk in her general direction she will usually take off and give me the flick. She grunted at me once. Before I switched her over to freeroam, she was in her X-pen and I reached down and put my hand on her side, she spun to put her head under my hand, I moved my hand to her side... After she spun around 3 circles like this she grunted at me. The message was clear: cut the shit, asshole! I apologized with some head/nose/ear rubs and then let her cool off. She hasn't outright bitten me, but she's given me warning nips. Sometimes because she wants me to leave her alone, more often because she is demanding attention. I know she isn't afraid of me, she will lounge about in full view of me. If I sleep in, she will hop up on the bed looking for attention. Sometimes, when I go to bed she'll hop up looking for good night pets. Overall, I think she is wary of people moving around. As far as I can tell, she thinks humans are big, erratic weirdos, and I can't really fault her for that. Rather than take chances with humans lumbering about doing who knows what, she prefers to keep her distance when someone is walking around... I think this is also why she seems to love the sound of me typing, she knows it means I'm not likely to get up and get in her way.
My bunny does the exact same thing. He was a rescue and was neglected. He relaxes around me but as soon as I move he runs away. He will even climb and sit on me but he just hates it when I make any noise
My lionhead bunny was similar. He didn’t like me initiating stuff but would rather come up to me & initiate it. He was really affectionate at the same time though. We didn’t really know anything about his background either.
Investing time is so incredibly important. My friends and family always ask how bindi is the way she is. So loving, affectionate, and interacts with me and my husband. I tell them the amount of time that we have put into making her feel apart of our lives, apart of the family. So be ready for the work if you want your bunny to be like Lennon and like my bun.
Thank you for the educational rabbit habit videos! I want to share my story, since it is a particular one -- I live in Ukraine, and since it has been invaded by Russia in February 2022, I was forced out of my home along with my bunny. Previously we lived in an appartment, which I owned, so we gradually grew closer, and I learned to accept the fact that the bunny will gnaw at the furniture and wires and stuff :) It was my furniture and my stuff, so ultimately, I could get new things and find some other interesting treats for the bunny. But after moving around the country a bunch of times, I must say that it's not possible to care for my bunny anymore. She can't be let out without supervision and I have to constantly restrain her movement, since we live in places that I'm not the owner of, and have to be careful not to damage the furniture and anything else. The bunny learned to accept the fact that she has to be carried during an air raid siren, and she got used to travelling by train and car. Yet she no longer flops (she used to do that a lot), and more often than not she would relax somewhere out of view. I feel that I can't just give her up to someone else, since... well... how could anyone do it? But then again, it's horrible that the little ones have to suffer like this.
Sending hope and love to you, your in an impossible position and love your friend, Aussie based here, I hear there is a service there trying to help pets , I will look into it if you like and get back to you, I hope your in a safe place and continue to be safe, none of it is your fault, innocence is a casualty of war , my heart to you from indigenous girl Australia.
RSPCA are helping pets and their owners there, another company that seems to be doing a lot there is IFAW , there's a few more but they seemed to be the most trusted and reliable x
My bunnies love me they always come up to me, but Snowball will always act like she doesn’t need me but the second I’m gone or ignoring her she’s like hey give me love
I get flicked at every single time I trim her nails, she's been terrified of people touching her feet ever since I brought her home. I've always been super carful to not cut too far but even the first time I had to get someone else to hold her while I did because she freaked every time I touched her feet. She's gotten better but she still gets really mad and hides for a while afterward but it's nothing some banana won't fix.
That happens with mine, too. I looked closer into his nails and I saw one has been cut too deep...and it was still stained....That must be painful...ouch...
Mine doesn't really have a problem he doesn't like it but everytime I clip one nail I reward him with a lot and I mean a lot of praise like good job , such a big boy and give him head pat's and he seems to calm down for that and if I see he's getting restless or scared I stop and wait for him to calm down
@@taehyungkim4267 My rabbit is always terrified when we clip his nails, but after that, he just finds a spot to sleep/hide. So he's not mad at me for long, which is good 😳🤞
My rabbit Stella was a rescue, and I think she has done all of these behaviors at least once. I actually watched your videos and other videos on youtube to figure out what she was doing and how to fix it. It has been a long 6 month journey, but she hardly ever exhibits these behaviors anymore. Thank you!!
Popeye, in the evening, likes his dog Hanz and I, his servant, to lay on floor and just relax He loves having his ears gently petted while listening to Mozart . yes this is our routine it is bliss❤️ Takk Lorelei for making me laugh at times They are wonderful👍🇮🇸 and lets me know when it is past his family time he thump until we commit lol
This helped so much! My rabbit was chewing at my bed, and wouldn’t stop when I told him to. In that moment I was very angry at him, and snapped. He bit me, and I put him in his pen. I felt so bad, and I sat there and cried. I thought he hated me, but I hope that he is happy in his home. PS: We’re fine now, he came over after I let him out, and sat on my chest ❤️❤️❤️
Hey, maybe this doesn’t work for you, but I generally stop my bunny from chewing by tickling her. She gets annoyed and run away binking from me whenever I try to tickle her again. Just saying no in a confident manner doesn’t work with her.
I have two buns that were returned to the shelter 4 times, and my boy showed all of these traits until literally a few weeks ago. While it took my girl 6 months to trust/like me, it took 2 years for my boy. 😂 I was telling a friend “maybe he was skeptical and thought I was going to return him like the other homes” now he is more affectionate than my girl and she was my defacto cuddle bun.🥰
Today we went to our local pumpkin patch, they had a petting zoo with young bunnies and kids were picking them up wrong, and the bunnies were TERRIFIED!!! They were shaking so bad, it broke my heart. I tried to show the kids how to pick them up right, but they totally blew me off. 💔💔💔💔
I really like that you made this. My rabbit doesn't have any issues and I've had her for about a week. She fell asleep in my arms today and I was shocked because I didn't think she would. I love her a lot and really hope our bond grows more and more the more time we spend together.
I feel like getting rid of my rabbit. He's been with me for a month, I give him food I give him water I change out his letter, I let him out while he urinates on everything. My parents only want him downstairs which is the Noisy part of the house. My rabbit stands off in his corner and does not let me touch him or pick him up. I feel like i'm done.
I would like to say some rabbits like to be pet more than others! Certain breeds are also more prone to having fear reactions and are a bit more timid to petting. Lop breeds seem to be docile and love the petting where lionheads/netherland dwarfs seem to be a bit more timid about petting and handling. I can't thank Lorelei enough about teaching me about free roaming! it has strengthened my relationship soo much with my rabbit.
I’m so glad that my bunnies don’t hate me! They will literally lay down and sleep right behind me! One of my rabbits will go around and lick the other ones and it is SUPER cute!
This is so validating OMGGGG. I'm a new(ish) bunny owner, and my bun will seek me out constantly when I'm home...if I move to a different room, she will wake up, come over to me, and go back to sleep. And the only time she bit me was when she came home after a rough vet visit and I was trying to give her pain medicine - she was in pain and was pissed I was getting in her space. This is so helpful, thank you so much! And thank you for making such helpful content to make me the a better bunny guardian 💖💖💖
My bunny nips when it wants attention if I'm doing something and not paying attention to her, she sniffs then just barely grazes me with her teeth. Our neighbors just let her go and I put her back in their fence and of course she got out again so we rescued her when they said they didn't want her. It was right before Easter too, so made an pretty good Easter for my 5yo! I think they got rid of her because they got a new bunny for Easter, it's their third one! She's a Florida white rabbit and I always thought bunnies just stay in their cages, she has my whole big back screened in porch to roam and dig. She definitely has a better life here then she did!
I have a lionhead who absolutely hates my guts. I've had him since he was tiny so he wasn't abused, and I've done my best to treat him as well as I can, but he's a little monster. He runs from me, chases me, bites me, lunges at me, etc.... just hates me. He's not jumpy or scared of me or anything else, actually he sizes up the dogs he sees outside like he thinks he can take them on. He just has an immense amount of rage and I have no idea why
I have 2 female lionheads who are sisters...and the larger one is much more agressive. the smaller one is terrified of me. over time I have gotten the nippy one to calm down. lionheads are notorious biters. I use the smoosh method when she acts up. another rabbit youtuber had a video on it. you gently smoosh their head and back down with your palm as a show of dominance. I also used a stick to pet them and get them used to being touched. lots of great resources online. sometimes bunnies are just assholes. same with dogs and cats.
I've learnt so much from your channel, and just wanted to say thank you for being so real and educating us on ways to keep our little furry friends happy and comfortable. You're also a really great teacher!
"Rabbits don't have hate in their hearts" Okay but have you seen the scathing looks my rabbit has been serving? I fell in love with a malicious little brat and I can't stop loving her but she judges me constantly and then ropes me back in with the sweetest kisses.
I got my 2 year old rabbit about a week and a half ago. She is a very sassy rescue who was dumped in the side of the road she is still learning how to trust but is getting a lot more confident of letting people pet her. Her favourite thing to do is jump up on the bed and run around like crazy. She is free roam and a Rex rabbit!
Really grateful for this content because it’s not that I don’t love my bunny, I think my inexperience as a pet and bunny owner reaaaaly shows and so there’s a lot I can do to bond better with my bunny. Albert has definitely thumped near me, and I would stupidly ask “what’s wrong?” but eventually my continued presence and attention by talking to him soothes him and he starts oinking and running around after a few seconds…he has bitten my finger once which really surprised me…I was so surprised I put my hand over his shoulder area and applied some light pressure to hold him down. I’m still not sure what to do if he bites me again, but I suppose it does tell me he isn’t happy with me in that moment and I’m making him unhappy. He is a rescue and me and my boyfriend are fairly certain he’s experienced significant trauma, his previous owners left him in an upturned cage by the side of a road..but idk I think mostly I’ll have to learn how to read him better and learn his language
Lorelei, I’ve been watching your channel for a few years now and enjoyed seeing what you and Lennon are usually up to, my rabbit who is 7 years old, today was diagnosed with cancer, I’m so sad that my rabbit my 7 year old rabbit won’t be here longer than what I was expecting her to be, I’m just in shock that this has happened, once that day comes I probably won’t be the same I am right now... I just wanna thank you for cheering me up for the past few years...
Me and my bun Misty have had a long journey together with all of our vet visits. She's essentially a special needs bun. She had hereditary parasite in her ears that she was born with. But did not cause her trouble until a few months ago. Once we got it all cleaned up in her ear she had an abscess on the side of her jaw. We do not know exactly how we have just started but we think it was because of the parasite in my ear. She had to go into surgery to get it removed and we had to flush out the abscess for about a month. After we took her in for a checkup. And they said she had a dislocated jaw and was no longer able eat hay. I thought this was the breaking point and we would have to put her down. However the vet said we could give her critical care food three times a day which would be equivalent to about how much hay should we eat a day. So for the past 6 months we have been giving her three servings of porridge a day. And since you can't eat hay can smile down her teeth, she has to get her teeth filed regularly. All this was so heartbreaking to watch her go through but I know all of her suffering and all of the time we spent on her is worth it when she does binkies around the room and demands massages all the time. ❤️🐇
Glad to hear someone genuinely cares for their bunny & I’m sorry to hear all that. My older bunny passed away recently & it was heartbreaking. It’s crazy how strong of a bond you form with them.
the "flipping off" thing ( I call it the fuck you run) is something I see after nail trims, health checks, meds, etc. a variation that looks similar but I believe to be more related to play behavior I've seen in my rabbit (more when he was younger) was the addition of a head shake like a half-assed binky he would also run right back to me for pets or treats and that was a way to tell the difference
The last of my guinea pigs recently passed (super sweet old man, a little sassy) and it's so interesting to read how close his behavior was to a rabbit. He had playful popcorns where he'd pop sideways and toss his head and be extra loud for a treat - and then he had the "get the flip out of my space" popcorns after a pen cleaning or nail trim, where he'd rumble and donkey kick and rub his greasy bottom on everything.
Yep, I get the "half-assed binky" every morning when I take out the bag of hay. 😁 My bunny is SO HAPPY then. Sometimes I try to pet her when she's eating, but that annoys her. After she finishes, though, she'll come to the door and assume the "pet me" position (body low, head stretched out). She'll look at me like, "Now I'm ready for some loving!"
Thank you so much for this! I just adopted two 3yr old rabbits from an environment where they weren't handled at all and only kept in a hutch outside and I've been watching your videos to understand their body language and what they are trying to tell me as it's difficult to see if they like me or want to be left alone and it's helped a lot!
We accepted the fact that our Bun doesn’t like to be picked up too often. We will lay on the floor with him and pet him. THAT is something he likes. He will also flop on the floor if any of us are sitting on the couch. He usually accept nose rubs when he flops nearby. He runs throughout the house and occasionally busts out some impressive binky jumps.
My bunny has done a lot of these. 😂 Biting when I pick him up to trim his nails, kicking his feet at me if he doesn’t get a treat when he wants one, thumping when he sees his carrier because he knows what it means... I don’t think he hates me, though. He gives me kisses and plays with me every day, and he will sleep out in the open near me, so I know he trusts me. He’s just a very demanding little man who expects everything to be exactly how he wants it at all times, and that can’t always happen. Lol.
@@gayheon6631 Nice! I love meeting other bunny people. :) My name on here is actually the name of a character I created. But it’s still awesome to meet someone with that name!
My sweet little Domino was the best bunny ever, especially considering how her life started (pink eyed Himalayan Dwarf that was shut inside a small box and duct taped shut at 8 months old and left for dead in an alley). She took to me very quickly and would always follow me wherever I went. If I was sitting down she would launch herself at me and curl up on my chest. She adored pets and was always flopping in my presence. Anyone could pet her and she would never bite. She would stand up to greet you when you came in the room. It killed me when she passed away from kidney failure. I still feel the loss despite how many years have passed. She gave me reason to live when I no longer wanted to.
My rabbit 🐰 has trauma from being only 5 weeks old and in downtown Calgary but now she is doing great and always relaxes on my lap thanks for the tips 😊
That flick you off!!!! So hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing. I remember when our bunny didn't quite trust us and wouldn't want us to touch her. We watched lots of bunny videos (like yours 😍), got tips from friends, and found lots of answers. We Incorporated the changes we needed. Now our bunny runs up to us and basically jumps on us for head pets.
Thank u so much for helping me with my bunny! After researching and watching your channel for 2 years, I finally got my parents to get me a bunny! You have helped me understood the proper way to respect your rabbit and care for them. I got my bunny daisy in august and I waited until she was old enough to to get fixed. Yestaurday she got fixed!
When my first bun, Beatrix, had her hormone surge at around 3-4 mos. many of these behaviors kicked in and I knew it was spay time. But I had to wait two months because the exotic vet would not spay until she was six mos. old. It was a hard time for both of us but once the hormones settled down and she became the 'warren queen' she was a bit of a thumper, mostly. I think she was warning me - like a guard bunny. I miss her so much.
This morning, our Cinnamon thumped and then ran and hid when my boyfriend came home after visiting his parents 😂 He was gone for two days, and she was not having it (he also smelled like their dog I presume). Sprayed some Pet Remedy on the floor and a bit on my bf, he gave her a treat and a branch, and she came out after some 10 minutes 😊
if I eat a fruit without giving any to my bunny she ALWAYS gives me the foot flicking aka bunny swearing...but then the next second she’ll just flop beside me lol!!! and she’ll thump at me for attention when I have food xD
My bunny bit me and my dad. But when my bunny bit me it just hurt for a second and the pain wasn't really that bad. But when my bunny bit my dad the bite really went so far and my dad's hand had blood on it. I will keep notes of this, thank you for sharing this for people who are new or doesn't know much about bunnies!
My bun's biggest issue is his jealousy. He's the most loving and wonderful boy, until my husband comes around and gives me a kiss. Then Marshal(bunny) is nipping at him and climbing into my lap to get my attention. It's weird cause the cats can get love without too much jealousy issues, it's just my husband, and he's trying so hard to bond with Marshal. Husband is allowed to be near, it's only when he tries to be affectionate with me that there is any issues.
Whenever I'm around, I see the cutest flops and binkies from Cookie, my bunny, but when my mom is around, he stays still as a statue I pet Cookie many many times a day, head rubs are his favorite. He even closes his eyes and really enjoys it. When I stop and put my hand in front of him, he literally pushes his head under me hand asking for more pets
Our free range bunny used to come in our bedroom every morning, run around and thump like crazy until we got up. We hadn’t done anything wrong so was this his way of telling us ‘you’ve had enough sleep now.’ He was fine once one of us got up, it was cuddles & playtime then.
My last rabbit passed away the same year he was born, he died at the vets when he was being neutered and now I kinda can’t resist giving my current rabbit hugs all of the time
mine was flopping also during the video, while getting some head pets. I took my hand away for a few moments and she rolled over onto her back! Back and forth a couple times before flopping on her side
Love it! You inspired me! And you really helped me learn about bunnies! Because of you my mom is considering getting me a bunny! I definitely will be subscribed for as long as I live! Love you!
And I’m sure people get bunnies that have a screw loose unfortunately and it’s wise to have minimal contact until it finally croaks and keep their fingers crossed for the next one or don’t get it from the same place if it might be suspect
I don’t have bunnies, but I’m an animal lover. It’s cool to learn about different animals, and even take care of them! I’ve been interested in fostering animals for a while now, but my parents won’t allow it. When I move out, I swear my house will look more like a zoo than a house-
*if you get access to the ear while petting.. gently acknowledge the cartilage if you're too rough they'll let you know😂, but if you have that caress nature to you rabbits love that. tell tell sign you have a good bond.
My rabbit pretty exhibits all of these. He will approach me and boop me with his nose but thats about as affectionate as he’ll get unless food is involved. I assumed that a lot of it has to do with him being a rescue that was treated horribly both times (1st he was a meat rabbit and then people that bought him were neglectful and made him live outside) and i had to be forceful with him to get him to a vet for checkups two times. But he really doesn’t seem comfortable around me at all. Maybe i should look for a better home? I want to keep him but if im just a bad owner then i shouldn’t make him suffer for that.
My case is like that too. I recently got a bunny, but sometimes I feel like I'm not doing the right thing. I mean, we got it along with its cage but I'm letting it run lots of times within the day to get used to us and feel comfortable. Today, I also let it run in my room and it got close to my feet, smelled them and ran away. It also shakes sometimes, but I think this is because my dad is quite noisy. Do you think I'm hurting it somehow? Also, I think that if you recently got it, it just wants to get used to you but I'm not an expert
Bunnies are really amazing! If they love, they make sure to love hard. Thank you so much lorelei for yet another amazing video! I learn so much from each of your videos 💖
My bunny Harvey is getting fixed this weekend. He's showing signs of aggression towards me..mostly strong Territorial, a little food.. I will be going over all your post surgery videos again! what would this community do without you?!? I love you and Lennon ❤ keep up your awesome work! Beth and Harvey in West Palm Beach are your biggest fans!🤗 (All other TH-camrs don't even come close)!❤❤❤❤
I think I've seen all with my bunnies at one time or another. Summer 2021 I got my 2nd bunny, a 4yo tiny lady with the biggest attitude. I got her from a rescue station where she was dropped off by a family. I was only told they intended to just buy ANOTHER one. I quickly found the reason why when I got her, she was very territorial and very aggressive during feeding times, I had to be extra fast with my hands when handing her food because she would lounge, grunt, bite and scratch all at the same time. Tiny ball of anger and probably anxiousness. She was ok mostly otherwise. I believe she lived in a small cage because her behaviour got a bit better when she became a mostly free-roaming bun with a big enough play pen. Her behaviour kept changing as she wasn't neutered and was constantly falsely pregnant. When we finally went to the vet to get her operation done, I was asked how come her belly is totally hairless... she just kept building nests all the time... After neutering her and having her adjust to the calm lifestyle with two adults in a big enough space she's now much calmer, hasn't bit me in a long while, lounges only at our other bun when he decides to piss her off. I can't blame him, she's adorbs when she's mad... Even I have to piss her off on purpose sometimes just to hear the little grunt. XD She's still not a cuddly bun at all, she maybe lets me pet her once a month but she doesn't mind jumping on the couch and crawl all over us to get a piece of apple. She likes her space, her rutine and thumps at me every morning when I come down to give her breakfast, to just fast open the play pen. XD
In general I hate watching bunny community videos, people who watch a lot of the community’s videos think their rabbit will be very clean, very nice, and very friendly- I’m in groups where people watch these videos and think a rabbit will be a great idea to have one for them or their child. People don’t realize the Time it takes to clear the said rabbits areas in order for it to be so clean, I’m writing this because the rabbits you see in alot of these are very unique and not all rabbits have the same personality some just will never get along with anyone, even if you’ve had it sense it was a baby so please if your not prepared for messes, for attitude, for somtimes bad smells for somtimes a possible never changing attitude DONT get a rabbit 🐇.
I've never had a grunt or a bite or failure to take treats or pets. He has put teeth on me / humans, but gently as if to ask politely to remove finger from face or check if it's food. Remember... they can't see very well up close, so they rely on smells. I do get the occasional post brushing or random thump. However, we bonded immediately and built trust over time. He actually likes being held if his vision isn't obscured. He often hops on my shoulder and puts my head in his blind spot. I think you have a really good point about not ignoring bunnies. I'm thankful I have always had the privilege to work at home... Merlin is spoiled af.
My bunnies behavior changed a lot after I free roam them!! All thanks to your channel otherwise I would've not learned so much!! As always this vid is amazing!😍 Lots of love to Lennon😘
I adopted two rescue bunnies and one passed away but since then the girl (who was the dominant) has been okay without him but she’s definitely shown more signs of aggression towards me. Which I think she’s missing having someone to boss around so she’s trying to boss me around now
This is the thing. I want to spend time with my rabbits and interact with them but it's as if they mind their own business. I mean, one of them lets me pet them but I feel like I'm annoying them, yk?
One of my bunnies used to run and hide from me and get into attack position when I got close. I wasn't expecting it at all because my first bunny has always been super affectionate. I always backed off when she looked like she got ready to fight me, so she never actually bit me. 4 weeks later of sitting near her without reaching out every morning and evening and placing snacks near me, she runs up to me, climbs on me and flops next to me now. It was probably also very helpful that my other bunny is so affectionate because they always follow eachother around and the first time she came up to me was because she was following my other bunny who came over for a cuddle.
my rabbit is very anti social and she has been that way ever since we got her but she doesnt do any of the other things in the video, do you think shes just normally anti social or should i work on helping her not be?
Assuming your rabbit roams freely, I would try sitting near the edge of what they consider 'their space' in your home--where they graze or eat is a good time--maybe reading a book or catching up on your phone. I wouldn't pressure them by reaching after them or petting them much the first few sessions, though--the idea is just to get them comfortable with your presence. If they become curious, and you rest your hand on the floor, they may nuzzle underneath it and let you know it's alright to pet them. A half-hour sitting together here and there, a few times throughout the day, building that familiarity. My girl lived to be 11 years old and right up to the very end, she would fuss if you petted her without 'asking' first by putting your hand on the ground for her to approach. She was a rescue from a rough situation when she was 4, and everyone before just thought she was anti-social, but she just wanted to be invited to be affectionate rather than forced. She just needed someone to listen to her needs. Maybe your bun is the same. If that's so, I can tell you that our best bonding time together was every morning at breakfast, where I'd give her a plate of fresh greens and sit by her while I cleaned the litter, refreshed the hay and pellets, and swept up her little cardboard/towel loafing area, and she was always the most affectionate and appreciative after a freshly filled belly. When you're there for a good length of time as you're caring for her, she'll may realise better that care is coming from you, and that may improve your bond. Patience and consistency are very important to earning trust, with rabbits and with people.
most important is you give full time attention and bonding. always have patience and understanding. respect and treat them equally and you will have their loyalty and honesty 👍☺️
My rabbit, Artemis, was a very food motivated rabbit before I got her from my cousin, causing her to bite my cousin once. My cousin ended up smacking her and that caused her to keep biting. She was handed down to me after my cousin's dad said they couldn't keep her anymore. She's super aggressive now and I have been trying my best to get her back to her old self. Any tips for me-?

My bunny is the sweetest. When I finished giving him a pat, he'd lick my hand as a thankyou. And I love the way he gives small bites when we do stuff he doesn't like (it's just a tiny nibble).
I rescued my bunny from a terrible condition, he was house in a wirebottom cage with no grass or hay, it was quite cramped with 5+ bunnies in there he was also clearly being picked on/bullied b the others, and when I took him home I gave him fresh water, a HUGE room to be just his, fresh hay and much more, at first he was sceptical about me and his new
surroundings and would lunge at me and anyone who came across him, now he’s the sweetest most loving bunny EVER

This girl has the rabbit angel looking after her 🙌🏻
Mine use to scratch me when i use to hold her.

"Big, erratic weirdos" Did my dog tell you that? She's always looking at me like, "Lady..." My bunnies were much more respectful, lol
Milo flicks his feet at us.....but he's dramatic. 🤣🤣 He'll flick his feet and beg for a treat at the same time 🙄

This is a heartbreaking story. I will be praying for you and your little Bunny. God bless you!!!!

Our lionhead lady likes to be petted 100% of the time non stop.💜🥰

Okay but have you seen the scathing looks my rabbit has been serving?

Aww thanks for looking her💖👍
Glad to hear someone genuinely cares for their bunny & I’m sorry to hear all that.
That made me genuinely laugh with the “half-assed binky” but I know exactly what you’re talking about.
Lol.
It is same for me
is he a small bunny ?
@@gayheon6631 Yes! He’s a Netherland dwarf, so quite a small little bun. Big personality in a tiny body. Lol
@@GhostHelwig my youngest is just like that to xD also we have the same last name
@@gayheon6631 Nice! I love meeting other bunny people. :) My name on here is actually the name of a character I created. But it’s still awesome to meet someone with that name!
Wallace flips me off when i get him in to the litter box😂😂 litter training at its finest 😂❤️
I love you Lennon you have helped me through my journey of giving my bunny a good free roam home and helping me understand my bunny!!!!!!
Yestaurday she got fixed!
who else is watching this video while petting your bunny
Me
When my first bun, Beatrix, had her hormone surge at around 3-4 mos. many of these behaviors kicked in and I knew it was spay time.
After watching this...I will put in as much work as I "pawsibbly" can to make my bunny a happier and safer bunny. :) Thanks lorelei.
Sometimes all it takes is a Classic Lennon the bunny video to make me smile! 😊
Whenever I'm around, I see the cutest flops and binkies from Cookie, my bunny, but when my mom is around, he stays still as a statue
I pet Cookie many many times a day, head rubs are his favorite. He even closes his eyes and really enjoys it. When I stop and put my hand in front of him, he literally pushes his head under me hand asking for more pets
Lol
That's so cute
Mine does the same thing. Just like my dogs will do. She will even do the head nudging over taking her favorite treats (pumpkin seeds) sometimes too!
Our free range bunny used to come in our bedroom every morning, run around and thump like crazy until we got up. We hadn’t done anything wrong so was this his way of telling us ‘you’ve had enough sleep now.’
He was fine once one of us got up, it was cuddles & playtime then.
My last rabbit passed away the same year he was born, he died at the vets when he was being neutered and now I kinda can’t resist giving my current rabbit hugs all of the time
My bunny is the cutest he was flopping next to me throughout most of this video I love him so much ❤️❤️ sending love to you and Lennon.
mine was flopping also during the video, while getting some head pets. I took my hand away for a few moments and she rolled over onto her back! Back and forth a couple times before flopping on her side
Love it! You inspired me! And you really helped me learn about bunnies! Because of you my mom is considering getting me a bunny! I definitely will be subscribed for as long as I live! Love you!
Are used the same technique check to see if my bunnies hate me before you even published the video. It’s great to go back and review
As new bunny owner I appreciate all your videos. I’ve learned so much from your videos. Thank you so much.
When I move out, I swear my house will look more like a zoo than a house-
Same. I like learning about how to take care of different animals despite not having any pets at all.
The sweet feeling in your heart when you bunny doesn’t do any of the stuff mentioned in this video 💖🥹✨
Thank you for all the tips you have gave me on how to raise a bunny, I really appreciate you and Lennon!!! Keep it up ❤
I like to say my bunny is "very opinionated" he knows what he likes and what he doesn't and he's not afraid to make that known lol
It's great that she told us how to make them no hate us by giving us solutions and tips
*if you get access to the ear while petting.. gently acknowledge the cartilage if you're too rough they'll let you know😂, but if you have that caress nature to you rabbits love that. tell tell sign you have a good bond.
am i the only one who was obsessing over her hair this entire time? im legit jealous
😩✋
Same, I had a haircut and the hairdresser kinda ruined my hair so... I'm seriously jealous 😂😂😂
It is stunning. The way it cascades...the highlights, the flow
Beth and Harvey in West Palm Beach are your biggest fans!🤗
(All other TH-camrs don't even come close)!❤❤❤❤
XD
She's still not a cuddly bun at all, she maybe lets me pet her once a month but she doesn't mind jumping on the couch and crawl all over us to get a piece of apple. She likes her space, her rutine and thumps at me every morning when I come down to give her breakfast, to just fast open the play pen. XD
Somehow lorelei's hair is always on pointt 😁😁
So is her makeup!!!!!
Lorelei: Rabbits don’t have hate in their hart
Also rabbits: atack when someone smelling like another rabbit enters
Ya it's bit werid I love her channel but she makes no sense when she say that
You mean heart bleh
My bunny nibbles when I am pulling his fur tufts out and he doesn't bite all the way he holds way back. He is a free roam bunny and SO spoiled
Which I think she’s missing having someone to boss around so she’s trying to boss me around now
When your bunny love you and hate you:
I was trying to stop him for eating something toxic ok?😕
Your content is so helpful 😭
Thank you so much for all you do! You have helped me so much with learning about bunnies!! Thanks again😃
my rabbit is very anti social and she has been that way ever since we got her but she doesnt do any of the other things in the video, do you think shes just normally anti social or should i work on helping her not be?
Grunting and bitting is my bunny's primary love language 🥰
My rabbit, Artemis, was a very food motivated rabbit before I got her from my cousin, causing her to bite my cousin once. My cousin ended up smacking her and that caused her to keep biting. She was handed down to me after my cousin's dad said they couldn't keep her anymore. She's super aggressive now and I have been trying my best to get her back to her old self. Any tips for me-?
Very helpful video, thank you!!! Much bunny love to you!!!🐰
Lorelei: "A lot of people don't know how to pet rabbits. But a lot of humans instinctionally, they go for the back for some reason"
Me: Goes for the head of any animal to pet them.
Uh so I'm in the minority then huh?!😅
Lolelie-
Ever since I found out about you, you changed my rabbit's life, and mine. I found out that my rabbit was shaking because of this video, and I did a lot of research, and now my rabbit doesn't shake. Because of you my rabbit is a free roam rabbit. He is turning three this year. Everyone always tells me, "Wow how do you know so much about rabbits?" and I always say it was about you. Thank you.
I just adopted a 3 year old . Thanks for this because I think this bunny is stressed maybe did not have a good past. So letting him chill in his area
Im starting the video , hoping not to discover my babies hate me
Im scared 🤣
