That’s really great that the tree service calls you first thing and they do a great job getting everything situated nicely in the trailer as well as doing good clean up at the location. Thanks for showing us the stump grinder 👍. You got quite a good load! Good work Brad! Andrew from NB :)
Brad that is a great tree service company and an awesome load of logs to make into great selling firewood, not many company's will even have their guys stack it into your trailer..Great job
Poplar is also a nice wood to split up into kindling. They tend to have a lot of long stretches with few or no limbs, and relatively strait grain. I had a bunch of chunks that I batoned into kindling. Burns hot and bright, just like you said, and does a good job of getting the fire rolling. I prefer pine or spruce for that- simply because is smells so nice, but free is free! As a strictly outdoor burner, I'll never pass up on Ash or Maple- or a combo of both. They're easy to split by hand, burn great, and Ash smells especially nice when burned. It's also low moisture and dries quickly. I like Oak, too, but as the old saying goes: The best time to cut split and stack oak was two years ago... I keep a small supply on hand for cooking, mainly, but would not be too interested in a big bunch of green or wet oak- I just don't have enough drying space to tie it up for that long. Moot point anyway- there's very little growing in my neighborhood, and that's where I get my free wood from.
It's good being in with tree services and sawmills.. I try to deal with 5 tree services and 2 sawmills and it will keep ya busy.. sometimes they haul me loads but most of the time I go cut and split in their yards.. I always tell what ever works for them and it keeps everyone happy. Keep on making sawdust
I love it, when my tree service does the same thing! They even drop it in my drive way for me! Good service and a good work ethic is what makes good men, and a better company!
Hey Brad! When the tree service calls you make it happen. With out the FREE wood from the tree service, you would have to buy it or hunt for it somewhere. I did the same thing, now my tree service guy has a 20’ dump and he brings it to me now. It all works out!!! Keep Split N.
Brad your gonna have to get some gravel lanes down through the Woodward in between your stacks once the yard is full and layed out the way you want it,before next winter.before you know it you will be ankle deep in the mud lol..those little vermeers are amazingly strong for there size aren't they?had a load that had a few logs in it my tractor struggled with and it twice the size of what loaded me..good video bud, take care..
Nice load of tree service logs! You'll be busy for a while for sure. The stump grinder is the real deal, cool to watch. Thanks for the video! Steve in Oregon
Hey Brad, that's a good load of firewood!! Your tree service looks like a very professional operation, I like the care they took to prevent rutting up the customers yard. Thanks for sharing, have a good one👍🔥TC.
Hi Brad , a second dump trailer is something you might have to work towards like Joe from Ohio Wood Burner , maybe a second hand one if it was in good condition great video tho
Brad, great video! Sometimes things don't go as planned. When free wood is calling, then like you did you drop and go! That tree service really cares for their customers using those Mats to save the yard especially using that mini skidsteer (not sure the proper name). Loved seeing the stump grinding in the video! Got lots of work ahead and anytime in the woodyard is a wonderful day! Have a good one and see you on TT.
Yessur, more wood than you can handle. Wished I had that problem too! By the way, fixin' to weld a 2" receiver on the front-top of the dump trailer so I can slide on my winch, and having a removable log arch built to fit on the back. -Dave
As part of a tree service we use plastic matts a lot to krep the clients yard in tact and with minimal damage and the mini trac loader look so cool moving around
Great loaf of firewood. Dumping that load of ash will give you father- daughter time in stacking it. That stump grinder makes quick work of stumps. Until the next Brad have a wonderful day.
Morning brad that tree service looks after you dont no if you pay for it whatever they lookafter you thats all that matters. Well brad its looks like you will have loads of firewood for sale keep the customers happy and nice fat pockets you work hard enough for it brad keepsafe untill next time.
Hi Brad, good to see you have a great relationship with the tree service 👍. They seem very professional, even putting down those sheets of plywood. With the price of lumber they have quite a bit of $$$ in plywood on the ground. Looking forward to Thursdays livestream.
Hello Brad, you are in good when they call you to get logs, and load them too, just to tell you I bought myself a new 371 Stihl today, (Happy BirthDay to me 4 months early) almost wishing I was there with you today so I could try it out, but I have enough of my own work to do...
Nice load. I will be glad when I find a good tree service to work with. Got a little from one a while back, but haven't heard from him anymore. Text him awhile back a told him to keep me in mind. I'm sure it will come in time.
Poplar is just fine for summer campfire wood. Most of those tree service logs are in the sweet zone diameter for firewood, pretty surprising considering they came out of someone’s yard.
Hey Brad , that’s a nice change in plans . I’ve been getting free wood from a family that’s clearing 14 acres for a new pasture . They cut it into 8 ft sections and load it in my trailer for me . I like that stump grinder !! Good video ! Del
Is that regular ivy, or poison ivy on the poplar? Do you ever give your tree service guys a plug for free advertising? When they call, you pretty much have to go and get what they have. Pretty good guys for getting right up in the trailer stacking a full load.
Well that’s a great eye! That in fact was poison ivy and I’m currently suffering the consequences. I’m allergic and take precautions but I ended up at my doctor for steroids. We will talk about it tomorrow night lol
@@FirewoodattheFurnace I used to be extremely allergic to poison ivy. The very first load of wood I picked up had poison ivy and it tore me up. Since then every time I've gotten it has been less and less intense. Now I just get a few bumps of it and that's it. Hopefully you heal up quick cause I know it can really suck.
@@FirewoodattheFurnace that’s interesting! NC has multi year tags for trailers so you only pay a registration fee one time. You still have to pay property tax annually. I’ll have to check out the Maine plates to see if it would save me more.

Looks to be a good tree service to work with. Good when you can get just log and no brush etc.
Nice score Brad!!👍👍
Keep on Chuggin big fella..
Good morning everyone
Good morning Stanley
Good score Brad
In your business model you gotta take the wood while you get it. Is better to have a stockpile than wonder where you're gonna get your next log from.
the more wood the better
the Hollow Logs I sell as decoration or bear baits depending on size if there nice enough
Can't beat that.
Nice score on that wood
I love it, when my tree service does the same thing! They even drop it in my drive way for me! Good service and a good work ethic is what makes good men, and a better company!
Nice good for you brad
free wood... problems problems...lol. Next is more thawing, then drying.
The tree service company keeps me out of the woodyard too!

Liberty Discount Discount Lawn Equipment -below Hampstead, Md, has 2 Stihl 500i chain saws. FYI
Hey Brad. A big part of success is building good relationships like you obviously have with your tree service. Nice load of wood!

If he puts a LG46 grapple on the mini he would be able to load trailers a hell of a lot better.

Great video!!! Dam.. at the price of plywood probably cheaper to replace the lawn...lol...
Lol I know right. Just like the price of everything else…

That’s great Ben. Congrats! I’m sure you’ll be breaking it in soon!
Nice score Brad, looks like you're going to be busy for a few days.
I’d of done the same. Don’t want to risk your relationship and connection to free hardwood. Great setup with the pallet “cubes” in the nice open area.
That’s a great load of firewood!! No mud season here today. -22F/-30C here this morning. Looking forward to spring!!😃
🥶🥶🥶I bet your ready for it!

Couple more days for us, by Saturday it gets nice for us
You can burn the poplar when you go camping too. Better than using Brads Premium Firewood. Cant beat freebies.
Lol yes I always take some “less desirables with us”

Awesome Del. That’s a great deal
Ohhhh, the yard is getting loaded up, might want to consider loading 3 rows instead of 2 rows on the pallets
I’ve still got 2 rows to fill, maybe I’ll start and see how it works in a test area
sounds like another trailer to me john
Lol I might look for one of those beat up ones cheap someday. Right now is not the time. Everything is too high
Looks like when you was driving to get your tree service pick-up I noticed there was alot of wood laying down when you was driving by.
Yes there is a lot along that road
I heard 2 to 3 feet of snow
Oh wow
as i watch you driving, i notice a ton of wood on the side of the road..are you able to get to that? just thinking of outdoor with scheib
Yes if I ever needed to there’s a lot there

I’ve got it bad since I was a kid. Sometimes if I’m around it, it’s mild, other times it’s full blown oozing patches… it does suck lol
I noticed you have Maine tags on the trailer
Yes it’s way cheaper and legal to do as long as you have at least one trailer for each power unit registered in your home state

its mud season for sure .....
Ugh…
Broke my heart seeing you dump it on the ground, oh well It’s a good job for Taylor.
Lol true
Your trailer may be overweight with all those big logs.
Nice score on the wood
