Hi Brad!!😀😀 You guys got a nice little pile of wood split. Sounds like the 660 is getting broken in. She sounds a little lean on the low end now that she is running more free. Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
@@FirewoodattheFurnace it might be the weather a little bit. But I have 2 of the blue 660s and mine have held adjustment perfectly. I wonder if you might have gotten a bad carb with the kit. If it doesn't settle down after it's broken in good. You might want to get a different one for it. OEM carbs are way over 100 dollars and the Farmertec ones are between 10 and 20 dollars plus shipping. I would take a chance on a new Chinese one.
Hey Brad Spring is coming to the Free State, so it might be a good time for a little experiment that might make things a little easier in your woodyard. Load up a few of those pallets with three rows of firewood instead of two, and compare the results in the fall. All other things being equal, I think you'll find it doesn't make much difference and if that's the case, you've just increased your storage capacity by 50%. Just a thought.
@@FirewoodattheFurnace I think you are well on your way, and will get there sooner than you think, especially with you and your family's work ethic. But even if you don't, being able to stack three deep will save you time and steps, since you can put more wood in one place. If there is no downside with regard to drying rate (hence the experiment), that's a win for efficiency, which is the name of the game.
Awesome video Brad! Really enjoyed it, I knew there would be a video with both splitters at some point lol! Like the episodes where the family is helping! Glad that the clone saw has been working great for you thus far 💯👍. A little saw jam is fun here an there lol. Also I like your merch that you have, took a look at the website the other night and most likely will put in an order at some point coming up. I love all things firewood, chainsaws, wood splitters, saw milling and forestry etc so your channel is definitely now one of my top ones that I’ll be keeping up with for the long haul.. so I think picking up some merch is fitting lol :)). Anyways take care, Andrew from NB :)
It's such a huge help when others come to help in the woodyard. Not only do they get a lot of work done but being around family puts us in better moods and we can be more productive.
this is the first time I ever saw you get stuck in a log, I have never been a big fan of cutting rounds in a log pile, just for that reason, I take the time to get them to the ground so I can roll them around a little, plus to say was never a fan of the 4 way wedges either, but watching you here has sort of made me a believer in the viability of the machine, no doubt you could beat me in a race of busting bigger rounds, the log lift REALLY pulls it weight in operation efficiency. Nice to see Mom and your Wife still helping as time permits, You are truly a lucky Man of the Craft.
I noticed you bent the handle on the 660 when you pulled on it when it was stuck in the cut. The farmertec handles are pretty weak, I bent the one on my beater 440 within the first hour. I replaced it with a hyway handle and it’s much stronger.
@@FirewoodattheFurnace I’d double check it again, from when you started it around the 17:00 min mark to where you finished around 19:00 it looks bent back. It could be just the camera angle as well, but figured I’d give you the heads up since it is a big powerful saw.
Hi from manitoba Canada! I appreciate the work the whole family does. Running an engine dry of fuel, I'm afraid is a myth. It never empties totally and stale gas turns to varnish. Use fuel stabilizer. I add it to the gas can when I buy the fuel. This way it goes in every motors 2 and 4 cycle. A cheap way to trouble free.
You should consider getting the Gorilla Carts 10 cu. ft. Evolution Poly Yard Cart with the flat-free tires. They perform way better than the two wheeled wheelbarrow that you have. Even when it’s loaded down pretty good,…you still don’t feel like you’re having to expend as much effort in the lifting part of it. I think it’s like that because of where they place the wheels in comparison to the wheelbarrow like you have. The load is placed more over the wheels instead of behind it.
Morning brad and val she is a graffter by the looks of it she is not scared of work which is handy for you more cutting more firewood more dollars good to see both machines are working takecare untill next.
Hey and thanks for the message! I’ll list my opinions below for both. PROS: Price Log Lift Adjustable 4way wedge Auto cycle CONS: Slow cycle time Customer service Parts not readily available For the money it is a good machine. Definitely a big step up from a box store splitter. But after being at Paul Bunyan this year and getting a chance to see and run the #eastonmade lineup, it’s a far cry from those machines.
@@FirewoodattheFurnace I hear that I started out a fan of the Eastonmade but the more I learned about the wolf ridge I think you can’t beat that unless you need something bigger really like Easton.
Hey Brad, Great to have the extra help in the woodyard! Your wife Val and your mother did an awesome job! Teamwork makes the dream work! I'm like you, i dont like black gum or sweet gum, but i will take it if given to me. That 660 was a ripping through that Oak! What fuel do you use in that can? Great video my friend . Lots of great help . Are you going to put a bark box on the clone saw ? It was good to see the Countyline get dusted off , brought a smile to me !!!! Always looking forward to the next video . Del

Brad would it help if you had some 4×4 post 10 feet long as you start to dump logs off the trailer put them under logs as you pull forward every 3/4 feet apart just an idea
You guys are a hard working family! I love it. 😉
Thank you
Your production is stepping up! Keep it up Brad & Val....always an inspiration my friend!.....I liked the "oops" too 😁

i was wandering if you still had the countyline splitter..glad you still have it .cant wait to use mine again
