hey mate at least you tried, most of us are having a hard time just getting our bums off of the couch. I understand that your current situation is not the easiest but you gotta give yourself some credit for what you've done. It was a very ambicious plan and you gave it a go. Now go back home and plan your next move, and personally i hope that you keep making the videos and that you keep sailing as well. Best wishes!
Life is never about the destination, it's about the journey ... its the adventures, the struggles, and the joys, the connections we make with nature. You are beautiful, enjoy your journey ❤
Don't worry too much about kiel canal - when you eventually get there I would suggest borrowing (or buying used if you can find one cheap) an outboard for that trip, than it should be fine. Its a canal so there is not much swell (only temporary when a big ship passes), so an outboard should work just fine for the majority of it. You still have the electric for maneuvering. The north sea in winter though.. I wouldn't want to be there tbh... Its probably better to hunker down for the winter in the Baltic anyways.
Sorry for your wind driven backward-ness & sailing sadnesses Mosa -- but this vlog has such wonderful footage again! I think your views of the worlds around you will make you money at some point I hope
Hey Mose! I lived on my boat, broke, for five years. Your video makes me feel better about all the difficult days when things didn't go right. I look back now, and it made me a better sailor, but it was damn hard. I see that it's so hard for you too. But, each day will get a little longer from now on. Love your videos so much! I watch your Swedish videos too, and because there are no subtitles, I hold my phone to the computer and use Google Translate. However I only get infrequent but tantalising snatches of thought. Torture! Greetings from Australia, thinking of you often!
Keep it up. These challenges are a part of a sailors life and the sea and wind are quick teachers. Keep discouragement in check knowing these setbacks are temporary manifestations in which you choose how to interpret.
I think you're brave and determined. And slightly crazy. All the best people are. I hope you continue sailing. Just be careful. Godt Nyttår fra Norge :)
Don't get discouraged. Think of all the things that you have learned, and the opportunities that lay ahead. You will be better prepared, more financially secure, and you won't be so pressured by time and other factors. Take the time to appreciate the journey and the opportunities that come along. All the best!
Hey Mose. It is frustrating, had some scary moments and was not the goal you were aiming for.. but not a failure from where I look at it. Actris is still with you (you never ever gave up), the boat, boat safety and your knowledge is much improved and you are a stellar cinematographer/editor who has made some of the coolest videos I've seen for a while. These moments where you fall short of the goal you set are hard (especially if you also fight against feeling down)... but I think you are still on track..just not this winter. Cash up, fix the damage, add some bright LED spreader lights to your kit..and have at it again. Is it possible to put an outboard mount low down on the stern to assist the electric motor or is the windvane in the way? Thanks for the videos .. I've really enjoyed them. I went back and watched the rollercoaster and your other videos. All of it is awesome. Plus you built your own windvane!!!!
I'm sorry to hear that you' have been struggling so much lately. I know that you wanted to do this with just the electric motor, but the gasoline outboard as a supplement to the electric for high current areas might just be the solution. You might also want to look into changing your propeller for better performance -- you might have to save up for it, but a variable pitch might help the electric motor maximize the power better.
if i had some wishes, : go on with your sailing, go on with your channel, its hard to sail in your region in winter - fact. its not sneaky doing it with electro motor in this conditions, but : hey MOSE, you tried it with all that what happend before. to me, thats the best you can - try. if i would have more money and would live in a warm country, i will book you a flight into the sun, warming hart and soul , and send you back to your boat , in warmer weather. You are such a wise person, you will make the right decisions about work as a train driver or whatever here, creating more english spoken videos...i love to see more.
way too cold, just go south in the spring or summer it'll be much safer. i had to cancel my sailing south last year and sell my boat as it got too cold and wet so quickly at the end of summer. I was in a VERY similar situation as you. i only had an outboard motor and the propeller would always come out of the water in the waves. very seaworthy boat otherwise. I love the title you put. sorry you had to cancel the trip I'm sure it feels awful
All right Owen Wilson we're ready for you to jump into the new Zoolander movie..... You can get a bigger boat with some chicks on it... After you make money being an actor.. Although we enjoyed this video stay Strong
The word on the docks is.. if you get alittle more knowledge and ask around. You can sail on the inside of all the islands of North Germany and Holland until you get all the way to Amsterdam. Especially if you have a short draft. Not much open sea then. I myself saw a German sailor go straight in when I sailed by. And your boat could easily handle to be laying on sandbeds until tides come back.🍕🫡❤️🔥
Great!! I will think about it. Now I have another destination and need to fix some things on my boat that doesn't really work great at the moment. The motor being one problem. 😅

Seriously great idea to translate the Swedish ones!
@@StudioTerrafemina There are no Swedish subtitles, not even autogenerated ones, that's the problem.

Oh I see I had the same issue with my outboard when I hadn't fixed the inboard motor. Hope we can get to the south in the future! 😎
@ yes, indeed
