Hi! My name is Mose and I'm from outer space. I'm documenting my experience being stuck on earth due to... having crashed my space ship. I'm building a do it yourself amusement park in my backyard with my friends. I hope you come visit it some day!
This year I am going on an adventure of a lifetime, sailing my boat south to get to some warmer climate. I am the slowest sailor so it just takes a while.

way too cold, just go south in the spring or summer it'll be much safer. i had to cancel my sailing south last year and sell my boat as it got too cold and wet so quickly at the end of summer. I was in a VERY similar situation as you. i only had an outboard motor and the propeller would always come out of the water in the waves. very seaworthy boat otherwise. I love the title you put. sorry you had to cancel the trip I'm sure it feels awful
Oh I see I had the same issue with my outboard when I hadn't fixed the inboard motor. Hope we can get to the south in the future! 😎
@ yes, indeed
New subscribers from the great lakes. I love your channel because It’s real and not over produced. Even better- a kitty aboard. I’m new to sailing but brought my 16 year old bengal on board for the season. He did so well last season but him escaping outside is very dangerous for a senior house cat. He needs monitored heavily outside since he’s so curious but doesn’t have the strength or agility he once had. Making the best of it though 😊
Thanks for sharing your scary story. It’s an important lesson to pass along. Ferries and cargo ships really do sneak up on you fast. I’m always super vigilant when crossing routes but still get a surprise from time to time. New to sailing and solo at that so I’ll always turn my engine on shortly before entering a potential situation. Typically won’t use it but it’s nice to have ready if I need to shoot ahead at 6k or turn into the wind to hold my spot while the ferry passes.
Keep going. I love your videos.😊
we have all been there my man, youll be alright. stay on the grind
The word on the docks is.. if you get alittle more knowledge and ask around. You can sail on the inside of all the islands of North Germany and Holland until you get all the way to Amsterdam. Especially if you have a short draft. Not much open sea then. I myself saw a German sailor go straight in when I sailed by. And your boat could easily handle to be laying on sandbeds until tides come back.🍕🫡❤️🔥
Great!! I will think about it. Now I have another destination and need to fix some things on my boat that doesn't really work great at the moment. The motor being one problem. 😅
Life is never about the destination, it's about the journey ... its the adventures, the struggles, and the joys, the connections we make with nature. You are beautiful, enjoy your journey ❤
Don't be sad. You tried and that's worth a lot. Not every attempt can succeed, just look forward to the next attempt. ⛵️
Sorry for your wind driven backward-ness & sailing sadnesses Mosa -- but this vlog has such wonderful footage again! I think your views of the worlds around you will make you money at some point I hope
Support comment! #sailing #alternative #lifestyle #struggles
Keep it up. These challenges are a part of a sailors life and the sea and wind are quick teachers. Keep discouragement in check knowing these setbacks are temporary manifestations in which you choose how to interpret.
Hey Mose. It is frustrating, had some scary moments and was not the goal you were aiming for.. but not a failure from where I look at it. Actris is still with you (you never ever gave up), the boat, boat safety and your knowledge is much improved and you are a stellar cinematographer/editor who has made some of the coolest videos I've seen for a while. These moments where you fall short of the goal you set are hard (especially if you also fight against feeling down)... but I think you are still on track..just not this winter. Cash up, fix the damage, add some bright LED spreader lights to your kit..and have at it again. Is it possible to put an outboard mount low down on the stern to assist the electric motor or is the windvane in the way? Thanks for the videos .. I've really enjoyed them. I went back and watched the rollercoaster and your other videos. All of it is awesome. Plus you built your own windvane!!!!
Don't get discouraged. Think of all the things that you have learned, and the opportunities that lay ahead. You will be better prepared, more financially secure, and you won't be so pressured by time and other factors. Take the time to appreciate the journey and the opportunities that come along. All the best!
Don't worry too much about kiel canal - when you eventually get there I would suggest borrowing (or buying used if you can find one cheap) an outboard for that trip, than it should be fine. Its a canal so there is not much swell (only temporary when a big ship passes), so an outboard should work just fine for the majority of it. You still have the electric for maneuvering. The north sea in winter though.. I wouldn't want to be there tbh... Its probably better to hunker down for the winter in the Baltic anyways.
Hey Mose! I lived on my boat, broke, for five years. Your video makes me feel better about all the difficult days when things didn't go right. I look back now, and it made me a better sailor, but it was damn hard. I see that it's so hard for you too. But, each day will get a little longer from now on. Love your videos so much! I watch your Swedish videos too, and because there are no subtitles, I hold my phone to the computer and use Google Translate. However I only get infrequent but tantalising snatches of thought. Torture! Greetings from Australia, thinking of you often!
Seriously great idea to translate the Swedish ones!
@@StudioTerrafemina There are no Swedish subtitles, not even autogenerated ones, that's the problem.
I'm sorry to hear that you' have been struggling so much lately. I know that you wanted to do this with just the electric motor, but the gasoline outboard as a supplement to the electric for high current areas might just be the solution. You might also want to look into changing your propeller for better performance -- you might have to save up for it, but a variable pitch might help the electric motor maximize the power better.
hey mate at least you tried, most of us are having a hard time just getting our bums off of the couch. I understand that your current situation is not the easiest but you gotta give yourself some credit for what you've done. It was a very ambicious plan and you gave it a go. Now go back home and plan your next move, and personally i hope that you keep making the videos and that you keep sailing as well. Best wishes!
if i had some wishes, : go on with your sailing, go on with your channel, its hard to sail in your region in winter - fact. its not sneaky doing it with electro motor in this conditions, but : hey MOSE, you tried it with all that what happend before. to me, thats the best you can - try. if i would have more money and would live in a warm country, i will book you a flight into the sun, warming hart and soul , and send you back to your boat , in warmer weather. You are such a wise person, you will make the right decisions about work as a train driver or whatever here, creating more english spoken videos...i love to see more.
Skickade en tröstpeng, kämpa på 👍
Great content, hope your ok, been in a similar mind set with sailing, I found it helped to revise down my expectations of what sailing I aim to do
Gott och se er igen👍Kämpa på.
I think you're brave and determined. And slightly crazy. All the best people are. I hope you continue sailing. Just be careful. Godt Nyttår fra Norge :)
All right Owen Wilson we're ready for you to jump into the new Zoolander movie..... You can get a bigger boat with some chicks on it... After you make money being an actor.. Although we enjoyed this video stay Strong
😎 Thanks! I'm working on my Blue Steel and Magnum.
¡excelente tu video amigo! Not sure if you are still sailing around on your boat, but the idea of it makes me want to go drive to my small boat and take out the sails and just drift around and pretend that the winter doesn't exist. also to think that you're probably in minus temperatures and still braving the cold on your boat really puts into perspective the fact that i'm a wimp for the cold and that i shouldn't complain about it living in Marseille... Anyways, its always a pleasure to see your creativity at work. cheers mate and Feliz año nuevo!
Ok??
Godt nytår til jer......
its no accident (there aren't any) that you publish this the very week that science seem to come round to the idea that dark matter and dark energy don't exist, and posits that the universe's expansion could be influenced by its "lumpy" structure, implying that the distribution of matter affects cosmic expansion without invoking dark energy. Your channel clearly is the lumpiest of them all.
nice filming/editing/music ! ("under-water-world" camp-fire- smoldering fireclike city-lights...)
I haven't watched yet but I am so excited to see you again! Happy new year Mose!🎊🤟Saline, Michigan💞
A favourite of my many sailing channels... but my number 1 Dimensional travel channel.
Congratulations on your continued existence in whatever planes of reality you are privileged to be able to access. Thank you for continuing to share your scouting reports with us, your significantly more mundane cousins. All the best to you and yours in this new year. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Hi Mose, watching your videos feels, reflecting / mirror my life.I some years older, but still suffering of the behave of our lifestyle.Every single word from you, or explanation, makes me cry, revolving emotions, inside me,came back to surface, again and again questions how to handle this life coming up.not finding a way, to save myself , beeing grounded or at least accepted from society. And i tried many things, as you, try to be on the move ,traveling a lot,to avoid the many issues, living in this western society cages .do live in a camper like you, try to save some money, lived at my friends place in the north of italy in beautiful nature, totaly off grid, having my beloved sailboat, my soul harbor, when i have to get out of a job, or away from a city and people.Whenever you may travel to germany or the netherlands, let me know, you always welcome to be my guest, if you need a break from sailing or living off grid in sweden, or even to get in space contact, with another alien...like very much to exchange ideas or just having a relaxed time.Your videos inspired me, knowing and understand i am not the only space child here.Go on with finding your way, and be as you are, a lovely. intelligent human beeing.
Hi, its unbelievable how your words and thoughts i share with you, and to be artist or as least unique, you have to be - yourself.dosen´t matter what others say or what society and social behavier try to tell ya.everyone of us is in his own universe or bubble, some do the ways of having a career, get married , raising children and take 4 weeks of for holidays, others cant do this, as it feels not right.i like very much your way of live, and may once , we meet as i on the same trip , stay as you are , you a very impressive human beeing.
Huh. Scariest video EVER!
Nice! Greetings from my seacats Matroskin and Neko-san to your cool cat!
Hi, if You don't have any P&I cover for your Boat and Your, than you need one smart lawyer! You are Swedisch , if I'm correct in Sweden is famouse organisation Svensca sojo! You are on Instagram , Telegram or somthing like this? warm regards.
After a lifetime with cargo ships they always claim the same thing - limited ability to maneuver. So colregs become conflicted. Glad to see that you and the boat are good - or at least mostly so.
I am a professional mariner and as far as I am concerned you did nothing wrong- keep smiling and keep making the videos- they are great 😁
Thanks!! 😀
Why don't you empty the black water into the sea? I am not sure if there are any local regulations in your area, but blackwater can be discharged 12 NM form the shore under MARPOL. And your yacht is too small to fall under this regulation anyway.
Thanks! There are local prohibitions from that in the Baltic sea. At least close to land. But if nothing works people have to do it somewhere... 😬
Sven Yrvind in background.
Yes 😊
Well it's important that you are ok! The IMO Rules is one story but at sea I take care to be far way from suche monster! I'm comming from Shipping company: in case of suche collission of our vessels especially with small boats .... we are or our P@I club pay big money to them! So ask Coastguard about the name of the vessel! On the hull of the stb site of the vessel they are some paint must be out! Go ahed! Be happy and thanks for your video! More and more go with your boat to south !You will enjoe it!
Thank you! They've said I can get the repairs paid for my boat maybe but maybe I'm missing out on something. Do I have to hire a lawyer in that case or what do think?
"The map is not the terrain." Or whatever the case may be.
