Little know fact, first radio stations that played Prince were Punk radio stations, plus he was seeing on Punk shows in the Minneapolis underground scene early in his career, he covered The Clash several times and he glorified the Rude Boy movement in one of his album covers.

If there's anything that this show could have contributed to society, it's this masterpiece. It all seriousness, this performace should be ranked up there with Rush brining back Red Barcetta, Metallica's spin on B.O.C's Astronomy, and Prince's performance during the super bowl. How something so good could have come from something so benign astounds me, which gives me hope for this idea. Love you guys.

Mutoid Man really needs to do a covers album. They have the best covers and really make the songs their own, but they also really make them their own and its amazing! Unfortunately none of them have been officially released. Their cover of "dont let me be misunderstood" was included on my bandcamp copy of the EP, but its not officially listed anywhere.
They did 21st Century Schizoid man AS WELL AS She's a Lady by Tom Jones when I saw them at Psycho Las Vegas, both were incredible and truly unique!

Damn. I got goosebumps just reading this comment and being reminded of that halftime show. What an absolute perfect performance of Purple Rain....in the rain....that had a purple glow from the light.
The morning of the game/show, a production member had to break the news to Prince about how bad the weather had turned. When they asked Prince if there was anything they could do, Prince responded with "can you make it rain harder?"
