Country radio really isn't "country radio" anymore anyway. It's a shame legends like TL and a lot of others aren't being played anymore for whatever reason! Im just glad he's staying true and country. Love his voice and his music!

I am an ex Heavy Metal Bass player. Tracy's band played at the casino I was an IT tech at, in 2013. I have to tell you, I was freaking amazed how damn good and tight they were. I watched the setup and sound check. They showed up, no enclosures or speakers on stage (If they had monitors they were recessed somehow), plugged their heads in, threw in some ear buds, and kicked ass. I never detected anything I would come close to calling a mistake, missed note, off pitch, nothing. My girlfriend kept saying... "But you don't like country"!!! I have to say it was a performance I won't ever forget. Tracy's vocals were flawless.

i have to say that Tracy Lawrence is a favorite of mine. His song, Time Marches On is a great son. My son was born in 1994 and when this song was released I bought the disc and I remember him sitting in the backseat saying "Time Marches On Mom" and he would sing every word of the song; sometimes the song would be played over many times in a row. My son just turned 28 and everyday on his birthday, I share this song with him. In fact the whole album is timeless.

just another reason to support local independent radio stations. Find the independent station in your area, they are few and far between, so good luck. when you shop at a place that advertises on that station, make the effort to let the store know. I'm a DJ on our local community broadcast radio station. Our only restriction for playing certain songs are the guidelines laid out by the FCC. You know, the 7 or 8 forbidden words as outlined by George Carlin. If a commercial radio station won't play a song because of the word "cusss" or the word "dop-e" then that is a decision made by the owners of the station. It's an editorial mandate. Programs on our station are DJ driven. We choose the songs to play on themed shows and music mixes. I would gladly play Tracy Lawrence's songs on my show. Corporate radio only allows content that fits their agenda.

It was like the early 70's and he had a song with "hell" in the lyrics. And he was so squeaky clean that it made pop radio.
I remember him being interviewed years later about the controversy he created. He said it was funny to be confronted by radio execs who would say, "I'll be damned if I will play a song with hell in it!"

I just read an article about the U.S. Navy being embarrassed about the Music Video Of Cher’s on the Mighty Mo, saying her being scantily dressed was a last minute shock. That being said, they also referenced the Music Video for Village People’s song and video for In The Navy, so they were alright with a group who were mostly Gay 10 or more years earlier, but were offended because of a scantily clad Cher ? The U.S. Navy needs to reevaluate their position on this and quit letting society indoctrinate the Navy and save face. Society today, is motivated by three things, they are: Politics, Social Status and of course MONEY ! ! ! Talk about bending over and picking up the soap.

In the 90's some of the two face people and are still here. If we could follow them around, we would see they all have a past also. None of us are perfect, the only one died on the cross. They seem to have to put on a show and show how perfect they are. Maybe they are trying to convince themselves as they tear someone else down. The man upstairs knows all about them; you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you don't fool all of the people all of the time. Life is all about making mistakes and trying harder to do better the next time. The song is true, maybe if we all had a front porch, we would all see the world differently. God bless all of us.

I can't stand most country music, but Time Marches On is a damn good jam.

Tracy Lawrence got mugged and fought the muggers in a motel parking lot and got shot a couple times ? he’s a true badass

Tracy Lawrence was one of the best of the 90’s and early 2000’s. He has a great distinctive voice and sounds only like himself unlike most artist today.

That's what you you strive for since you can't sound like another artist or you will have short career. Distinction is what's it about,

@@michaelterry4394 there’s a lot of newer artists that sound a lot alike. In the old days it was considered a bad thing. Today they’re looking for a certain sound.

Today the artists rise fast then dive down because they don't get backing from the record labels who just want a fast buck. They also don't hone their craft, just my opinion.

Country Radio was very family values oriented in the 1990’s.

They must have not blocked it from air play in all markets because I remember hearing that song on at least two stations that broadcast in my area (Eastern Virginia)!

I heard both those songs on my radio back in the 90s just admit country radio and country music in general is a business and the new shining star is what's important. Quit whining
