Even at the current tune... it sounds like a very well built 13b with a very good turbo selection. Dual Scroll on a Rotary is almost instant boost since each rotor can run w/o a counter pulse against the exhaust impeller. Totally a unique feeling powerband and curve. I love a well sorted rotary! Tons of fun to drive.
Rotaries just hit different. the super high revs and the instant power gratifications is amazing. I loved my '83 RX7 I had and for a while I had an RX8. I really hope they do bring the iconic sp into the market and quick :D
There is nothing like a rotary. I have a 13b rew swapped FC and yea its weirdly fast as well. Ive beaten scat packs and m4 that in theory should smoke me. And my car is on a break it tune of 350. Welcome to the team.
Note for people who dont know too much about led bulbs. there is a right and wrong way to install those type led bulbs. A lot of times people complain that the lights dont work. I turn them an avg of 90° and they work fine. Always have the light part of the blade bulb faces the reflectors!!!!
@Smeedia the lock piece on the bulb should be adjustable so that you can make the blade adjustable. Its usually 2 little allen keys on the ring when looking at the side of the bulb

It isn't leaking... it's self lubricating. 😁 But really, I am excited for ya. Everything about the build just seems like ya took the right steps. You invested in the right areas, and it'll pay dividends.
For the catch can... minimal bends = better flow. I've also done a hybrid catch/breather where there was still a hard tube of a smaller diameter that is open, but having a larger filter on top... so under heavy loads it was still able to minimize the overall pressure. After that never had much of a problem past getting drainage more and more efficient back to source.
Yeah that’s the plan. Running a second vent line from the rear iron and making everything else flow better should correct the issue. Either way super hyped with how the car is currently for power 🥳

Rx8 are on the outskirts of the rotary game lol. That car cannot take over the glorious name the rx7 made. Not even close! Also, 400 hp on rotary isn’t the same 400 of piston engine. Rotary naturally spin so the turbo is always in happy mode. Always
all rotaries do infact have instant boost. if you ever watch drag race rotaries they hold the transbrake at like 3000 rpm or something and when the tree is right about to fall they floor it and it instantly is ready to go at boost. not to mention they throw like 100mm turbos on them to make em fast as shit.
they are comfortably in the 6 second quarter mile with 1.3L currently and @pacperformance is trying to crack the 5second barrier with their 3/4rotor turbo drag cars. Its absolutely wildddd

Whats the specs of the turbo? Looks like a LOT of premix regarding how smokey it is! (either that or oil seals..) Also the catch can line with that U bend in it isn't ideal, oil just pools up in the line doing it that way. a -8 or -10 off the filler neck (with baffle before the line) is more than enough venting for a rotary. You shouldn't need to do the rear iron vent. The dip stick rubber seal is prob super old and worn too so I'm guessing basically is just sitting there. Also double check it's not leaking out the filler neck seal or fittings also.,.
You’ve had the ic7 in a couple of builds now, have you thought about trialing the uc10 to fill out the dash space a little more? Granted it doesn’t introduce any new features I don’t think. I’m considering one for my car for how good they look

Glad your enjoying the doritoes. The term to describe other rotary drivers is another Rotor Head. Edit: 400whp on that car can get you into the high 10's at the strip and trap just over 125mph in the 1/4mile.
I’ll have to track it. But naturally fuel mileage will always be worse. Especially on a rotary with the oil metering pump deleted. Because the engine gets lubrication through the fuel, the ECU will continue to inject fuel on DECEL.
The car looks super fun. The internet has ruined people's perception of fun, usable power. 400whp is more than enough for almost any situation, in my non-expert opinion. I must ask what issues you had with the perrin shifter detent kit. I have it and plan to install it soon, but you said that you couldn't get into gears. Was that ever resolved?
Tbh I’m not sure what happened with the detent kit. As soon as I put the stock plugs back on I had my gears back. I’d say do them all one at a time. Then check gears after each one is installed And for real, don’t get me wrong I like my big power stuff. But this is 100% all useable and fun power 👌

Welcome to rotary life with a modern turbo technology with a proper ecu and injector that can do what a rotary needs. Every time I let someone drive my car they are dumb founded at the power band and flat torque curve.
It’s actually mind blowing how differently these things drive with a modern set up compared to an older tech rotary and even to a piston engine. By far has become one of my favorite cars to drive

im TELLING u man, the EJ207 is more like this FD, wider more manageable powerband because of the peak HP way at 8000rpm instead of at say 5, and less aggressive torque you gotta give the big port E207 a shot
13:29 on the FC rx7 my inlet is similar to yours but not casted aluminum. To get around the same issue you’re having, I cut that pipes flange off and cut the flange off the stock fill part (it’s 2 piece) then re welded it so it’ll clear the elbow by the throttle body. Makes the stock oil fill about an inch shorter. The oil fill has a vent you’re missing. If anything add a vent to your current oil fill to let that pressure out. That’s why your dipstick is popping off

Those top screws on the headlight adjust your angle of them. Park in front of the garage door at night and adjust them
The top screws were adjusting left and right 🧐 the bottom one changed the angle. I need to play with em a bit more

I’ve debated snagging the Uc10 but I’ve been so happy with the IC7 so far. Plus for the price the IC7 is a solid pick up 🔥

If you like that power leave it. My car makes 452hp/440tq on e85 with a efr 7670. At that power I can spin the 315s in 3rd gear in the dry at will.
It’ll live in the 400-500whp range. But naturally I’m curious to know what it can do on full tilt 😅

Turns out it wasn’t actually the dip stick 😅 the vent port that is just below the oil fill was wide open. I did not know it was a vent 💀

About a 13% difference so you’d take the mustang number and multiply it by 1.13
