    Absolutely love the look of the new ES8. It looks really high end and with the dark green color it looks so much more matured.

    Damn, look at these beauties! NIO is setting a standard, AUDI & BMW, Lexus... it doesn't matter they will be left in the dust! NIO needs to park a couple of these in UK malls and make people crave what's coming. $NIO

      Big fan of the ES8 redesign. Look super slick.
      Do wish it had some proper rear entertainment for the rear passengers/kids. AR glasses…cool but didn’t we already decide 3D TVs were annoying cos we all had to wear glasses in our living-rooms…

      @@ChinaDriven Yes, ES8 design is very nice. I would like to try those glasses as well, as long as they aren't bulky.

      @@ChinaDriven How about a steam deck or a smartphone/tablet? the NREAL glasses can natively pair with such devices so that's also quite convenient and flexible. I personally feel like the less infotainment clutter we have in car, the better. You are not tied to tech that is bound to become obsolete quickly. I wonder if NIO is cooking something in terms of "external gadgets" given that they are developing a smartphone ;)

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes we could take anything we like with us in the car. NIO is obviously pushing Nreal Glasses which NIO capital is invested in. But why not both options like other competitors.
      Since most entertainment screens run and mirror or use the same hardware as the central infotainment system it shouldn’t be a problem, if it becomes “outdated” because if it does then so does the whole system.
      It’s a complaint with NIO vehicles in China vs some of the competition, the lack of passenger entertainment whilst driving. So I think it’s something to consider, at least for a large 3-row vehicle.
      And for small children, I’d rather a screen at a distance then having them shove their face in an ipad or something.

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also for the premium pricing I think it should be added. Even cheap EVs nowadays in China have passenger entertainment.
      I don’t want to buy additional things to gain functionality competitors have built in. Although I do get your point of tech becoming old. But streaming movies based on an APP & 5G connection displayed on an OLED/LED 3K screen shouldn’t get old too soon.

    Nice overview mate! The EC7 and ES8 both look stunning!! Would be great if you could add the KM ranges as well - most people in the world don´t get those stupid imperial values that should be forbidden, haha ;-)

    Not worth the premium price..where can you have battery swap stations outside China?!
    Ridiculous company 😂

      @Lucas-wp2ph ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Norway, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and next year the rest of Europe. In 2025 they will start in the Us. Until then you just fastcharge like every other ev.

    • @Kilowatt887
      @Kilowatt887 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They already have a factory that produces swap stations in Hungary. So europe expansion is in progress.

    But why there is no demend for those cars???

    • @ChinaDriven
      @ChinaDriven  ปีที่แล้ว

      To be fair the high-end $100k cars don’t shift huge amounts. But why NIO isn’t selling enough cars is a concern for many investors.
      At the end of the day as a NIO owner the service is out of this world. Never experienced anything like it from any other brand including Merc, Audi, BMW. But this is obviously not motivating enough people to buy.
      But I think once you take the plunge into NIO ownership like me…it would be hard to leave that kind of service.
