Thank you SO SO SO much for this! After six months, my Ninja Foodi would not reach pressure and I thought I was going to have to throw it out! I gave that little float a poke and a blast of compressed air and it immediately worked!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!!!
Hi from London and thank you so much. I was about to throw my unit out and replace it, mine is about 18 months old as well. I make amazing italian beef ragu for pasta or lasagne and a fabulous beef bourgignon in my unit that my family go nuts for, but Ive burnt five dishes because the bloody thing just won’t go to pressure. I am super pleased to have found your video as none of the Ninja facebook groups have suggested your fix to me! Xx
My Ninja Foodi was about two years old and started to not get up to pressure. I looked at the manual and a few videos online but this is the one that actually fixed my problem. Have a coffee or five on me.
This video is wonderful. I tried several times to get the Ninja foodi to come up to pressure today (it's only the second time I have ever used it), and nothing worked. I tried your tip whilst conducting the water test and it came up to pressure. I can't thank you enough for taking the time to make the video
I just got this unit recently but I have been seeing loads of comments from couple of places people complaining of the fan failure and most of them talking about the “lid shut error”, some like the lid is shut but it’s still asking you to shut the lid. And lastly, I applaud your cleaning. You did really well, I hope the 30 minutes steaming will do the trick.
You are a lifesaver!!! Thank you SO much for taking the time to share this. I purchased my Ninja pressure cooker "certified refurbished" (certified by who I am not sure) because I couldn't afford to purchase the unit brand new. Everything has worked perfectly EXCEPT the pressure cooker (which is why I purchased this particular model). I did exactly as you suggested and it worked PERFECTLY afterward. THANK YOU!!!! ♥
Just out the box. Following the instructions for the water test. I got the No Pressure. You can imagine my thoughts. Thankfully I found your video and it worked. Thanks for taking the time out to do the video!
Hello Darnell thank you so much for this, don't think anyone else is talking about it. It would have been helpful to see what you did to clean the area, you said you used a pin. It's hard to see what exactly needs to be "jiggled" lol! But I'll give it a try. Appreciate you. ❤❤
You're welcome. The lid on this one is not designed for removal. If you need a removable lid, I recommend you see my reviews of one with removable lids th-cam.com/video/Bqt9_imSsxw/w-d-xo.html Far as I am aware, none in the Ninja Foodi pressure cooker line ever had a removable lid.
Well, I was having a same prob when trying to cook with probe a gammon joint. No pressure etc... so i came in here to find an answer and found your site. Watched your video ready to take action, but when i returned to kitchen, all was well. It had started to count up to temp of well done gammon. Now I read my info from Ninja and it does say that you should give at least 45 mins to come to pressure depending on food being cooked. As my gammon joint had come straight from the fridge even though only using 300ml of water I think this had an effect on the time it took to get to pressure. Just a thought. x
I write this for anyone with this problem and for whom this solution didn't work. I was having the same issue, and I now believe it was just because of filling the pot too closely to the max line. Whenever I cook a very large amount of food, the pot fails to reach pressure, but with a smaller amount it successfully pressurizes every time. I suspect there is a safety mechanism that prevents pressurizing when the pot is overfilled, and that this is just not really communicated well. If the solution in this video doesn't work, try just pressurizing a cup of water and see if it doesn't work.
Hi Can you help me with problem When i want to use my ninja for air frier fan starts working and time gowing down but ingredients like potato not fried
My foodi would not pressurize so I looked at everything and found my problem. When you put it in pressure mode it closes the 2 flapers inside the lid. They had buildup so I removed it (not easy) and now it works.
Doing this tip fixed it for one use. Then it reverted back to no pressure. I ordered a replacement seal just to have one on hand. I'm going to try cleaning the pressure valve. If that doesn't work I'm going to have to call customer support.
@k. a. also take the ring out and hand wash (no scrubbing). I had bought a new seal. That fixed the issue. Then, I noticed my old one had some old sauce on one spot on the inner groove of the seal. I thoroughly cleaned it, took the new seal out and reinstalled the cleaned (old) seal and the cooker is now getting to pressure. I have the new seal as an extra. Used pressure cook 4 times since this (over about a week) and every time it got to pressure. Fingers crossed it continues. But yeah, try inspecting and washing the seal.
@MaksymBondar-bl5mg the manual calls for 1 cup. I used 1.5 cups. Then, I tried 2 cups. Either way, same result. It wasn't the water (liquid) in my case. This has been confirmed by Ninja. I've replaced the seal but haven't used pressure cook since replacing. I will be using pressure this week and if it again fails, then I'll be sending the unit for fix/replacement. Thankfully, I bought the extended warranty.
Move the bowl closer to the base of the lid attachment so that it closes easily. The problem is in the silicone ring, the pressure is leaking there, it helped me, maybe it will help someone else
Well, my unit has a valve on the other side (inside) that doesn't come off so can't even get at the solution. I've tried everything. This model can't even pressurize tomato soup. But did pressurize 4 cups of water (took 15 minutes just to reach pressure). Seems like this model is a dud. Who cooks just water?

Great advice, and but those machines are so bad do not buy them, after 1yearand half have lots issue with the lid the company don't even consider repair instead want me to buy new one witch means every 2 year spent 400 on new one
Thanks for the tip!

You are very welcome. And thank you for your generosity.

Thank you very much, your support (x5) is greatly appreciated. I am glad the video helped you avoid other more costly options.

After the one time I resolved the issue as mentioned in the video. It never occurred again.

Bought new foodi xl and would not build pressure. Tried your trick. Now it work like a charm!
Thank you so much. I thought I have a defective unit. But after following your instructions, it works. Thanks again.

You're welcome. Far as cleaning, nothing special. Clean it well as you would any dish. It is small, but you will figure it out 🙂
This fixed my pressure problem, thank you!
Thank you!
Any tips on how to disassemble the Smart Lid?

I HAVE THIS PROBLEM, THE MESSAGE IS ALWAYS THE SAME: "NO PRESSIURE", I ALREADY DID ALL THE STEPS, I CLEAN IT AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE COULD HAPPEN.
Try Ninja customer service. Maybe it's a hardware issue.
