Same here. I like my Ruggable. I purchased the thicker rug and thicker pad. The rugs have washed beautifully and are not a tripping hazard in my house.
We love our ruggables. They wash up so nicely and have held up very well after several washes. We bought the runners that velcro underneath the runner types. With this, they never curl or slip. We have a thicker pad in the main living area to add more cushion and comfort.

I'm an interior designer and have 3 washable rugs from ruggable and I seriously love each. With 3 small messy kids it's absolutely essential unless I want to keep replacing them every year. Ruggable let's you choose the thickness of the rug pad too. I've never had a problem with them curling.. They're not cheap either. I purchased 1 that was a collab with Architectural Digest.... gorgeous.
That's what we use our Bissell for! We have the same struggle you have, with three kids, a dog and a husband....and honestly myself (I've spilled coffee on all of our sofas). So far we've been able to get out all of the various stains and messes.
@@HouseofValentina oh we have a Bissell too. That ensures our messes come clean but the ruggable rugs make it less of an effort because you don't have to treat or pre-treat the stains. Just wipes up with a rag and soap. The Bissell we use for upholstery mostly now. But I definitely scotch guard our upholstery.
I have a large Loloi/Magnolia from Amazon with the Persian look. I hated it at first. It seems furry with dye printed on. However, it’s for a family room where I often have some of my grandchildren playing, all under 4 yrs. They love to walk on it as it’s incredibly soft. Accidents are inevitable and cleaning is a breeze. From a distance and I mean just standing, the impression mimics a Persian. Have had many compliments though they change their tune when they realize it’s “furry” and washable. I inherited 2 silk Persian rugs so I have some basis for comparison. The edges have not curled in the year I’ve had it but I do put grippers at the corners to eliminate any bunching. I do not think they would pass your taste test:)
I have Ruggable and Tumble runners. All other rugs are thick wool. I have an old dog who has accidents on the runners so that’s why we have washable runners. They have a thicker backing pad that grips nicely to the floor. I’ve washed them numerous times with no curling. They lay perfectly flat!

Sorry, Valentina, but you didn’t research how washable rugs are used before you criticized and dismissed the entire genre. They are used with underpads. The rug adheres to the underpad and does not slip or bunch. The rug can be removed, washed and dried in a regular washer and dryer, and replaced on the pad. The rugs and pads are available in various thicknesses. I replaced the beautiful, all-wool (I have radiant-heated floors throughout my house) hand-knotted runners in my kitchen with Ruggables because I got tired of sending them out for cleaning. I have two 2.5x12’ and one 2.5x10’ Ruggables that are comfortable underfoot and lie flat, while the corners are almost impossible to flip over, and I haven’t tripped yet. I wash and dry them in my LGs. I like to cook - I have a 48” gas Viking range and wall oven - and three cats and a dog, so there are lots of opportunities for mess. The rugs must be cozy because the cats like to lounge on them. The rugs are also extremely attractive. No, they don’t look as fabulous as my vintage Bidjar rug in the adjoining family room, but they don’t detract from it, either. I suggest, as a service to your followers, you revisit washable rugs in a future video after having purchased one WITH its underpad and trying it out for awhile. Yes, I've been thinking about giving her this info since last week when I watched... just took mine off the pad today to wash and correct, without knowing about the pad, the rug is pretty lame lol
Like the sheep is still in it, LOL!!! I have to have soft, soft and definitely no falls! I heard Jack say "Ugghuu" with the purple & yellow, LOL!!! Enjoyed, thanks Jack & V!
I loved this video, after watching so many of your videos I just wondered how you can find such good things on Amazon when I feel like more often than not I find garbage. I appreciated seeing that same struggle 😂
Very helpful and refreshing. If you claimed that everything from Amazon was absolutely fantastic, I’d be extremely suspicious! I decorate with only vintage vases and items because they are so much better made than modern ones - and have a history to them.
Ruggables are useful with puppies and dogs. I don't wash them in the machine, just rumba and Bissell these one time per month. I did wash one and sides curled. I Needed to steam the edges down. I live on 7 acres of dirt, so my wool orientals are only in bedrooms and office. I love wool carpets, but they hold lots of dirt. The thinner ones are better especially in larger sizes, but have some smaller sized 3x5 ones that you can shake out fairly readily.
I love love, love love love my washable waterproof rugs. They are a lifesaver with my puppies. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made in my life.🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙
I have one washable rug in the kitchen. It’s heavy so it’s not a tripping hazard. It actually stays on the floor nicely. It’s a little thicker than the one you got.
Valentina I had the Target shag rug shampooed it never dried.I went on Amazon and purchased there shag rug I love the color the fluff it didn't have a smell it had a backing. It looks great in my mid century modern home.
Love those pillow covers.. Love your decor ideas and totally love your input. My sofa is a med gray with the same color on color design and has a shimmer look to it.. Long story wasn't my choice. So what color pillows would you do? I have 2 dark velvet gray ones from Amazon but what other color would you do for winter... Wish I could send you a pic. Thank you for your input and time..
Hi Valentina, Would you consider doing a video on how to decorate a window sill in the bedroom? You know in your usual stylish way for some reason I just can´t get it right lol😄😊
It's not possible for everyone. I love flowers in our home but can't afford multiple fresh bouquets each week. Faux makes it possible for certain spaces.
You've got to get washable rugs from Ruggable, and get the backing, it's just a better quality. I don't LOVE the texture - they're basically printed - but I do love the designs, and there's a kid in our house. I need to be able to wash the rugs and have them dry quickly. They're not permanent heirloom pieces, but they warm the space a little, and you can change them up really easily.
My washable waterproof rugs are from tumble! What of the best purchases I’ve ever made I love these rugs🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙 they are not like that on the bottom what you’re showing on the video. They are all together different.
Im so glad I saw this before I bought the rug you bought - I was actually going to buy the abstract one. Now of course I won’t. I took a look at your storefront to look for better rug options. Thanks.
I have four of these washable rugs. The ones I have are super soft to walk on. I purchased them because we have 2 dogs and 2 cats so I didn’t want to invest too much $ in rugs AND I love our wood floors and would leave them uncovered if furr babies wouldn’t slid all over the place. After getting them, they reminded me of the old rugs in my grandmother’s house, which bring me such wonderful memories so there’s that too. 😊
Thankfully I see that several others use the washable rug because I have 3 😅. I have a long bathroom and really wanted a runner to go the length but I was worried about “contamination” issues so I loved the fact I could wash it or I have even taken my green machine to it.
Art is often the LOw point of her otherwise inviting DEcor! I keep hoping she'll do a DIY with a Texturized Treatment over some of the LOUD (non) LUXURious ones!
@@marilyn6905 look up textured acrylic from your local fine arts dealer or Liquitex is a brand of acrylic paint. They might have developed the original textured acrylic paint. I remember when the textured paints first came out but can't guarantee this was the company. (I remembered it first as Acrylitex but looked up the name and Liquitex is what came up in the "shopping" section - it's good for something!)
@@marilyn6905 I ve said this, One or two pieces she has are cool but most of them are one dimension. I see sooo much cool stuff on pinterest I cant stand it, How can someone invest thousands of dollars in furnishings like rugs, sofas ets and then buy the cheapest art they can find. Id almost rather see nothing on the walls. Let the architecture stand out.
@@toppcatt5113 Yes, there ARE some 'more' Upscale pieces nicely mounted/framed...but she has retained some featured selections that simply look ...well CHEAP...to me!
The Ruggables are the only brand I’ve bought. The pad that is separate has way cool grippers that holds it all in place. My robot couldn’t get over the edge of the previous rug, so I went with a 9x12. BUT . . Not likely to fight it to the laundry and back! But glad I’ve got it for now. Likely good in the runner used in kitchens along rectangular islands. ♥️
I love your house. With that being said it’s driving me nuts that the window in the back that’s octagon shaped is not black outlined like your door and stairway. But you probably have a reason that I’m missing. Love you V❤
Personally I think it looks better how it is. Painting the frame black IMO would first be trying too hard, and secondly it's a white wall with a window - the white is more seamless. Negative space and knowing when to leave things unaccentuated is important. Just my opinion.
I actually like the “boring vase”. I feel like on a non white counter with a colorful rose it can make the rose/flower itself shine, since the vase itself doesn’t draw attention. 😅 I’m with you on those particular faux florals although there are some that I do like. It’s hit or miss for sure. I love the faux croc and velvet pillow! Do you have a link to the woven faux leather one?
Totally unrelated to your video but my husband and I were just watching re-runs of Perfect Strangers and cracking up non-stop. I would watch a video of you and Jack reacting to episodes of that show. With Balki being Greek-coded, his funny incorrect use of American phrases and the pair’s physical comedy I know you must die laughing while watching it too.
Magnolia has faux florals that rival afloral. Not Target, the actual magnolia website Most of them are priced less than you would pay at afloral, but some of theirs are priced similarly, I have some fall ones with brown leaves and they are beautiful. They drape beautiful. They're amazing. I always check them first. Also for washable rugs, I like the loloi cloudpile, they are not ones that you attach to a backing and they aren't thin. They're thick and fluffy and they've held up well. I've had them almost 2 years in various spots in my house. Obviously the smaller runners etc are easier to wash at home, but even with the large 9x12s s they come out really well with just a carpet cleaner or you could take them to a laundromat
I’ve never ordered faux florals from Amazon. I like to see and feel the quality of the flowers that I buy. Sometimes it’s worth the little extra to get a nicer quality.
Too funny on those fake flowers. The Dollar Store actually has a few better than that, no joke. Love that ribbed clear vase. I remember H and M had those for awhile too. So far no washable rugs for us. But I can understand how people with kids and dogs would love them. I finally bought a steamer. It is from Conair. Costco deal. It has an iron and a steamer as an all in one tool. Another place to occasionally buy awesome faux flowers and stems is your local boutique type garden center. I have two in my area and their end of season faux floral and all pots, etc is often 50-75% off. I have found gorgeous florals and stems this way. And I love that I can support local businesses. And I don’t have to return them! And they are very affordable.
I so agree, the ribbed vase is an all time favorite. I agree about the garden center. I've bought some great faux florals over the years at some of our local shops!
I’m with you on cheap flowers stems. Can’t stand the plastic look. As far as the thin washable rugs I love them for my laundry room coming off of the garage entry door. Let’s be honest is much easier to just throw them in the washer to clean them. The only people that see them are us. The front entry and family rooms are nice expensive rugs.
Buy washable rugs from Ruggable. They come with pads for the designated area you are buying for. I just purchased my first one for my kitchen and I like it.
I love Ruggables. I like that the fabric is ultra smooth. I've purchased 3 or 4 throws you recommended and hated all of them. I prefer very smooth, silky material, so I think it's just a matter of tactile preference. Since we don't wear shoes in the house, how a rug feels underfoot is super important. I have a thick pad under mine, so it feels really good when I'm standing for prolonged periods of time. You're supposed to use a pad. Rugs I can't wash simply gross me out. My rug corners don't roll up and they don't slide. I did look at those 20k wool rugs they custom make for you. I can't stand how wool feels. So, it's just a matter of preference.
I'm glad that you've found something that you really like. I totally agree that a lot of the tactile aspects are preferences. We've had no issues with outs and we keep them clean with regular vacuuming and a carpet cleaner. I have several very large rugs that simply wouldn't fit in the washer if they were washable.
I bought a rug from Ruggable when I had a puppy and little kids and needed to wash my rug. I had a “real” rug that the puppy ruined before that. It was great for my phase of life but I wouldn’t choose it unless I needed to. The edges did start peeling up over time.
I have 2 dogs, a cat and lots of grandchildren constantly running around. ❤️ So I thought I'd try a Ruggable. Tried a smaller one first. Nope, between the look, the feel and trying to get it on straight on the pad - it was a no go. But I didn't give up. I went Rugs USA and Kohls and found 3 that are wonderful. I use a regular thick rug pad under them. The pets have had accidents on them and they repelled the liquid and cleaned up beautifully. Granted, I have to go to the laundromat to wash them (they are big), so that is a bummer but well worth it. I've paid hundreds of dollars to have wool rugs professionally cleaned and I was done. I use these rugs in bedrooms and I'm very happy with them. The rest of the house is rug free which I'm disappointed in but all my Littles won't be around or little forever so the less stress the better. Love your channel. ❤️
I saw some washable rugs at Costco today. Ruggables curl on the edges, and i don't know how Mark & Days washable rugs are. When my non-washable rugs get dirty, if they are small enough, i will wash them anyway!
You have to get a washable rug that actually has a pad system. Ruggable has pads of different thicknesses. I have a couple rugs from the Nina Takesh collection and they’re beautiful. Not a trip hazard at all.
It's interesting because some people in the comments are loving them and have no problems but then others (myself included) had issues with getting the fold lines out and curling around the edges.
Those faux flowers look terrible, don’t use them! A lot of those cushion covers have bad reviews so I wouldn’t buy them, always check the reviews. I’m not a fan of the Ruggable rugs, though I guess can be practical if you have pets and/or dogs.
I definitely check the reviews before I make a purchase. Sometimes they help me avoid a mistake and sometimes I don't understand the issue and have been pleasantly surprised.
I have a washable rug from Target that I like by nuloom. It’s white with black stripes and I use in bathroom by the sinks so I like that I can wash them
We've got those washable rugs from Amazon, and I love them. They just need some time to unfold, but once they did, they are flat enough for under doors, easy to vacuum and don't slip. 👍
The ruggable pad is expensive; however, I found Rug Pad USA has a wonderful pad at a fraction of the cost. They wash up beautifully. I haven't tripped...yet!😅
Valentina, do you have any tips for how to keep the rug under your bed from rolling-like I’ve pulled and tugged and even tried carpet tape, but there are rug waves on the left side. It’s weird because in my last apartment it laid perfectly flat.
@@HouseofValentina Carpet. (Flat apartment carpet, lol.). I haven't tried a rug pad but will get one! I keep thinking maybe the extra weight of having an adjustable bed base (ugh, feel free to put those in one of your "don't buy" videos) is causing it. Thanks again!
I’m big on reading. I have a library. I can recommend 2 books for you to try. A thousand splendid suns. It’s a story about the life of a girl in Afghanistan, The One a story about a scientific discovery that give you the name of the person who is your soul mate. Both books are so much fun and catch you from the beginning
I tried the washable rug. Felt so hard under my feet. I loved the pattern but gave it away because of how it felt. I've never soiled a rug so badly I needed to wash it anyway
I think the Ruggables have a pad you put down that makes the corner stay down. But I don’t have one. I don’t have a washing machine large enough for a king comforter, let alone a Ruggable .
It's funny. Alll the florals looked good on video. The printed rugs looked like those washable rugs that seem to be popular now. To be machine washable, they'd have to be somewhat thin. 😊
I bought a Ruggable runner for my front hallway and they ain’t cheap! It does move around even with pad underneath. It’s so disappointing but can’t seem to get rid of it since I paid good bucks for it. Would never buy another. Just washed it other day and now it looks “washed”.
When it comes to faux florals, I'm very loyal to John-Richard Collection which you can get from Neiman or Saks and I'm sure several other places but those are the two that I know of. The quality of their stuff is great and they have so many options which you don't see in other places like Amazon. Have you seen their stuff? I'd love to hear what you think.
Your manicure is always so beautiful but this current one is so teenage girlish and not the beautiful ones you usually wear. It is distracting when you do close ups that include your hands. You do have very impeccable taste in fashion! You dress beautiful and are a beautiful, fun upbeat person! I enjoy your channel immensely!
Thank you for your kind words! I had never had the gels done before and before we went to Greece I had them done and I fell in love with them. They held up to a lot of travel and abuse on that trip. So I had them redone a few weeks ago and came up with the design myself and I absolutely love them!
Curious if you've tried Laurel and Vine on Amazon and what you think of their faux flowers/greens? I'm trying to furnish a rental decently without spending too much money. Jack's comment "But if there's someone you want to get rid of...." I'm taking care of an elderly relative who can be quite demanding and was with her when he said that. LOL!!
First of all that is hilarious about Jack's statement! I haven't tried Laurel and Vine but I'll look into them. Have you tried their stuff? Are you furnishing the rental from Amazon or a variety of places?
@@HouseofValentina thanks for responding. I have a few pieces from Laurel and Vine. They curate the vase with the stems as a set. The large glass vase you showed in the video - L&V sell it with a tulip arrangement. It's a beautiful vase and the white tulips are prettier than what I've purchased and returned. I also bought the black vase with greenery, and the sandy white vase with the baby's breath. I trust your trained eye which is why I was curious. I bought an olive tree from one of your links and love it on my stair landing. I'm renting a townhouse new build which has dollhouse sized rooms. Buying from Amazon and other places.
Hard pass from me too. I would rather save up for a real rug that lasts for generations. 2 of my persian rugs are handmedowns from my mother. The rest I have bought myself. You have them for generations. In my opinion, they are never out of style. A thin rug like that is worn after a year or so. So enjoying your "show". I am a bit divided if I like fake flowers or not. I do have some fake green plants, but flowers often looks fake. I got a fake orchid plant. That is so natural looking. My girlfriends had to touch it to believe it wasn't real. 😄
That is so amazing that you have Persian rugs like that. I absolutely love pieces that can be passed down wile maintaining their quality. I still prefer real flowers but some of the faux are really good and look amazing in person.

I love your rug in your living room. I have been searching Amazon for several weeks (help!!!)
@@ConstanceGaughan I love it too. Last I looked it was sold out. If anyone learns of another location to find it, please post. Thx
Hi Valentina, Would you consider doing a video on how to decorate a window sill in the bedroom? You know in your usual stylish way for some reason I just can´t get it right lol😄😊
Cut the leaves off the flowers and buy better greenery to go with the flowers
That’s exactly what I was thinking. 🙂
fake flowers are tacky , buy real ones.
It's not possible for everyone. I love flowers in our home but can't afford multiple fresh bouquets each week. Faux makes it possible for certain spaces.
I have that rug!! It looks so good in front of my expensive white couch. For one. It’s perfect
Thanks.
I love this video. Thanks❣️
I like them becasue they dont shed like every other type of rug.
😂🤣😅Valentina you had me cracking up! I 100% agree! Not doing those types of rugs or florals! Ohmygoodness!!! 😳🤪
Thank you so much!
Thankfully I see that several others use the washable rug because I have 3 😅. I have a long bathroom and really wanted a runner to go the length but I was worried about “contamination” issues so I loved the fact I could wash it or I have even taken my green machine to it.
If the pillows that look juvenile look like your art work that’s a heads up. Get some authentically art for your walls. You said it! it is correct.
Art is often the LOw point of her otherwise inviting DEcor! I keep hoping she'll do a DIY with a Texturized Treatment over
some of the LOUD (non)
LUXURious ones!
I think its getting better. Some of the art in the glass frames she does is cool.
@@toppcatt5113 Yes, there ARE some 'more' Upscale pieces nicely mounted/framed...but she has retained some featured selections that simply look ...well CHEAP...to me!
Thanks for your video!
You’re correct, so many designers and beauty influencers push those washable thin rugs. Yes, they’re washable, but I can see how they’d be a hazard.
I’m with you on those particular faux florals although there are some that I do like. It’s hit or miss for sure.
I love the faux croc and velvet pillow! Do you have a link to the woven faux leather one?
Sure, here it is amzn.to/3Atz5rv
The washable rugs stick onto a pad. I have purchased two for outside and love them.
Excellent video, loved it.
It's definitely hit or miss with the faux florals from Amazon.
“If you have someone you want to get rid of…….”😂 I like jack
Love the fall pillow colours BUT...the patterned one looks like pantyliners 😂. Just cant unsee it!
Oh my gosh, now that's all I can see 😂
Me too!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The black and white pillow on the sofa looks like panty liners to me. I can't unsee it now. LOL
You have to get a washable rug that actually has a pad system. Ruggable has pads of different thicknesses. I have a couple rugs from the Nina Takesh collection and they’re beautiful. Not a trip hazard at all.
Jack cracks me up!😂
We are the SAME😂🤣 I’m funny about textures smells etc… I laughed throughout the entire video❤😆😂🤣
Yes, please make more of these videos but show us more alternatives
What is the black vase, please, that looks like the Visual Comfort lamp that everyone has? Thanks!
My favorite pillow cover you showed several yrs ago is Mulee. I’ve ordered many.
The polyester stuff makes me itch.
To be clear, everything you link to / recommend are items you've personally purchased and vetted? I didn't know this! But I certainly appreciate it!
I just left a link for my washable rug 😅 it's great and soft...thick enough and I love it. Give it a try 😊❤
Those florals look like something from Dollar Store. I would rather leave the table bare than set those out.
Ha, I totally agree Rita!
I bought a couple of smaller washable rugs for my laundry. I don't like them and they fold it not roll it, so it's hard to get the fold lines out.
It's interesting because some people in the comments are loving them and have no problems but then others (myself included) had issues with getting the fold lines out and curling around the edges.
V what is the perfect nude nail color!?!
@@HouseofValentina Great to hear!
Some of the Ruggable rugs are ok if you have pets
But I’m a textile SNOB so I am extremely picky on any textile
“If you have someone you want to get rid of?” - Jack. 😂
I got the carafe for aerating the wine Great deal. Its not a vase/
Have you ever tried colored marbles with your flowers?
I have tried the washable rugs twice. I can’t do it. They feel weird too
The ruggable pad is expensive; however, I found Rug Pad USA has a wonderful pad at a fraction of the cost. They wash up beautifully. I haven't tripped...yet!😅
I have those pillow covers you called creepy lol I love the feel of them, each to their own I suppose lol
Valentina, do you have any tips for how to keep the rug under your bed from rolling-like I’ve pulled and tugged and even tried carpet tape, but there are rug waves on the left side. It’s weird because in my last apartment it laid perfectly flat.
Is it on hardwood or carpet? Have you tried a rug pad under it?
The Amazon storefront link doesn’t work☹️
I love your sofa. Where is that from?
It’s from Article.
I think the Ruggables have a pad you put down that makes the corner stay down. But I don’t have one. I don’t have a washing machine large enough for a king comforter, let alone a Ruggable .
Those flowers look so cheap
I love my washable rugs! In 3 yrs no one has tripped on them. Fake flowers are a hard no.
What is the paint color on your interior door -LOVING🎉. I love my washable rug from PottryBarn
It's funny. Alll the florals looked good on video. The printed rugs looked like those washable rugs that seem to be popular now. To be machine washable, they'd have to be somewhat thin. 😊
That is funny and they looked good online as well. We order quite a bit of stuff that looks really good online and then in person, not so much!
I bought a Ruggable runner for my front hallway and they ain’t cheap! It does move around even with pad underneath. It’s so disappointing but can’t seem to get rid of it since I paid good bucks for it. Would never buy another. Just washed it other day and now it looks “washed”.
Use carpet tape.
Their flowers are absolutely beautiful. I've seen them online but never in person. I definitely need to check them out!
Soooooo agree with you
What do you think about Wayfair wall art compared to Amazon
Nice video allot of laughs!!😊
I've also bought art from Wayfair and it's wonderful.
@@HouseofValentina oh good to know thank you so much love all your art 😍😍😍 thanks for sharing “appreciate your channel” ❤️❤️
Can you tell me color of you velvet pillow cover? Chocolate, khaki? Hard to tell on Amazon website
I have a washable rug from Ruggable- much better than these. They also come in different thickness
😂 Jack is funny!
It's funny because he said it off camera and I thought it was too funny not to leave in the video!
Wait wait... Valentina has a coloured chair! Valentina has furniture that isn't black or white! Times they are a changin'
