I enjoyed this video. Unfortunately, for the bed skirt: I have to have one to hide the storage under my bed. But, I will look for the ones with the pleated corners - which look a little neater and more modern.

I think I laughed more through this one than any others!😂 You guys are so great together! This year, we made some major improvements to our bedroom... new nightstands with drawers to minimize "stuff" on top; tall lamps and mirrors on each side of the bed; removed a desk by the window and inserted a small loveseat and circular table with greenery and a couple of books; added a NESPRESSO COFFEE STATION(!) within the wall unit cabinet and shelves that hold our (unmounted) TV... haha! And I changed the whole color palette to creams, browns and blacks. It's SUCH a sanctuary now, thanks to your inspiration.😊
Lighting. Jack asks for different styles of lighting in bedroom right? One day I feel Jack is going to highjack the whole video. I’d love to see a video from Jack on how he would decorate a home himself and what advice he has for partners navigating decorating together. I know he’s the unicorn of husbands but it would be great advice for decorating a home as a couple or family. Awesome video from my favourite decorators!
Omg!! I DID stand up on my bed and got knocked out by the ceiling fan!! Clack! Right in the forehead. Bonus points for it being a week before my wedding! At least it was in 1992. 🤕

I think bed skirts are not suitable for all styles, but that doesn’t mean they are outdated. Cottage core style is trendy and it would benefit from bed skirt. Same with grand millennial or traditional farmhouse. I think you project too much of your own style which is not very professional of interior decorator.
In my house, we're team "no screens in the bedroom". We're all ADHD so reducing the screen time earlier in the night makes a huge difference in how well we sleep.

I made a modern style bedskirt in a heavy black canvas lined with 1/8” felt. It’s a single piece of fabric with no pleats or seams and it sits straight mimicking a bed frame well. I wanted it removable to wash and get to the Christmas ornaments under the bed. I’m thinking of sliding some thin wood boards behind the skirt as sometimes I kick the skirt in.

You guys are hilarious!! Agree with everything except one thing: I think slightly mismatched lamps OR nightstands are okay, but not both at the same time. The color, shape, or size should be as similar as possible, but I don't like it when everything is precisely matched. Just my option.

I love your thoughts and I agree. Issues I have are a box spring that I have a flat kinda thick quilted neutral bed skirt to cover. I also have a dog ramp that is used every day but not attractive. It’s white from Amazon and made of wood. We got a nice light instead of fan but miss the air flow, I won’t admit that to my husband lol

I still use a bed skirt for my bed. It’s more clean lined look. I ordered it from Amazon. I don't like memory foam mattresses. A lot of bed frames are made very low to the ground. Really not my style. Especially, for what it’s cost for memory foam mattresses and bed frames today . It’s not worth it to me. Guess I’m old school 😂 ❤

While "too dim" BR lighting may UP the Creepiness/Cheap Factor...so does an Overly Bright/Overly Large Overhead Light...in my opinion. (Not a Fan of the
WagonWheel light over the bed!) I find Soft evenly dispersed ambient light preferable/ more relaxing...while still allowing those who desire to read-in-bed.

H&M sell linen bed skirts. I bought a queen size one for a queen bed in an extra bedroom in a beige/taupe type color, along with their beige/ taupe linen duvet cover and shams in a king for this queen size bed. It really worked out well. And this linen from H&M is really nice too.

I agree with the pillows, never understood it. Max 4 pillows in a bed, or 2 in a single. The bedskirt is nice in a cottage decor like British country, with a lot of fabric, and old cottage with dark oak - love it! I dont mind mix and match bedside tables or lamps either, but the lighting.. horrible fans with lights and those boob lamps.. And maybe only one ceiling light - a big no. Lighting is everything in the evening. Another thing that is making the room look cheap is to have storage boxes everywhere. Looks like a storage room instead of a bed. Enjoy the two of you together - a really good match! 💕
I had to put an armed TV in my parent’s room because there was no where else to put it! It’s such an awkward layout. Only in rare circumstances should you do this.
I have an old ceiling fan. Thankfully, after I painted the ceiling it sorta fades into the color, being a dark color too. I put really beautiful bulbs in it and it now matches the living room. We don’t have the budget to change it right now, unfortunately. But paint is cheap! And it’s no longer an issue.

I bought the Vornado fan which works better than an old fashioned fan on a stand or the ceiling fan. It’s only about a foot wide and high and sits on the floor. It directs the airflow to the ceiling which bounces cool air off it around the room. A lot of the time it feels like there’s an aircon on as it gives gentle air movement everywhere instead of a standard floor fan that only cools when you’re standing directly in front of it. It’s removable so it’s only out when you need it. I hate whirling blades overhead.
Vorando fans are a Force to be reckoned with. Been using them for years!

I helped my mother stage her house for sale and she had a couple of box spring beds. I bought padded/quilted valances for them and they looked fantastic and modern.
