Wow!! I was too young to know Cheers so for me it's amazing to See Lisa Kudrow as well as Woody Harrelson acting. I think they both showed incredible growth after these parts. I mean seeing Woody act in Highway Men with Kevin Costner it's just amazing...
I love this series and I bought the DVD box set a few years ago. I have watched all the episodes twice to 'cheer' myself up. The entire series is now available on Bluray in the US. I hope the Bluray box set will be released in Australia Region B.
I find it weird that despite Lisa Kudrow being a brunette in real life, her black hair looks fake. Then she died her hair blonde for Friends, and it looks so natural.

Am I the only one who thinks it is sweet that Kelly walked in and saw her boyfriend kissing another woman, and never doubted him. Knowing he would never cheat on her. That is something you don't see a lot on tv. If that was any other show, that would have included a big fight/confrontation that most likely would have ended with them breaking up. Just saying I would like to see that kind of trust a bit more often.
It is neat to see actors and actresses when they get their start before they were famous. Reminds me of seeing Samuel L Jackson in Coming to America as the guy who tried to rob McDonell's.
Even though Lilith and Frazier characters went on the spin a very successful series, the relationship parts played by Emily and Woody we're so good and absolutely hilarious. The writing staff on cheers hit it out of the park with these two. Bravo

She just wasn't the best fit and they realized it in rehearsals. They needed a woman who could go toe-to-toe with Frasier and not back down... and Lisa just wasn't able to give them enough of that. Also, listen to her... it would hard as an audience member to take someone who sounds like that seriously, when compared to their final choice for Roz.

I once saw an old episode of Cheers and the actor that played Fraziers dad in Frazier was sitting at the bar.
Kathy Griffin wrote in her memoir that when she and Lisa were in the Groundlings together, Lisa wasn't getting much work despite her obvious talent. Then she dyed her hair blonde and got breast implants and magically started getting work. She figured out how to trick people into perceiving her as a dumb blonde, which is extremely marketable in comedy and in Hollywood, despite being an incredibly intelligent, medically trained Vassar grad and Groundlings alum. Personally, i think she's gorgeous either way and looks naturally beautiful to this day

+Ethan Paquet Yeah, I read that. Its a good thing that part went to Peri Gilpin; her voice was much better suited to Kelsey Grammar's. It would have seemed weird hearing Lisa's squeaky voice after Kelsey's deep gravely one. Plus Lisa was much better suited for Phoebe on Friends. :D

She just wasn't the best fit and they realized it in rehearsals. They needed a woman who could go toe-to-toe with Frasier and not back down... and Lisa just wasn't able to give them enough of that. Also, listen to her... it would hard as an audience member to take someone who sounds like that seriously, when compared to their final choice for Roz.
I'm so glad they cast Peri Gilpin as Roz. She's a better Roz, and Lisa's a better Phoebe.
