Good job Chris. I really like the Pilot Assist on my Polestar and using it when the roads have adequate markings etc. but I don’t have unrealistic expectations. I think it’s as good as gets for Aussie roads and would not hold my breath for anything more, plus who needs phantom braking!
It's pretty good isn't it? Makes for a comfortable drive, especially with just a little bit of torque applied to the wheel. The recent Tesla Autopilot update nag / requirements have soured the AP experience for many Tesla owners (myself included); so it's great to demonstrate that there are plenty of options out there. In a few weeks I'll release my review of BMWs system which is actually better than Tesla AP - so I'm getting ready to shield myself from the hate that some toxic Tesla fans throw my way! LOL :-)
The technology, likely inspired by Volvo and enhanced by Polestar (I have no idea), is absolutely effective. I drove the Volvo XC90 for a long time. The car (semi) autonomously followed trajectories, braked, and accelerated on its own, even at high speeds. Simply impressive.
Yeah they're pretty good aren't they. I had better demonstrations in the Volvo XC40 and C40, and I really like how it resumes lane keep when you've changed lane. Since filming this, I have found BMW to have a better system, so that video will be out in a few weeks.
Tesla has had it software engineers off fixing Elon’s Twitter shambles and there has been little progress for years. The wipers have gone from hyperactive to hibernating since the 30.8 update and you are in blinding conditions before you get a single wipe……then 2 second intervals. Expect foreign markets to be less than impressed with ageing looks and decluttering in the BYD + era. Good luck TSLA holders !.
The latest Tesla updates have been shockers haven't they? From poor wiper implementation and nags with autopilot, the shine has come off for many. I'll keep nagging Elon on Twitter/X asking for simple hardware inclusions like a proper rain sensor and ultrasonics for parking as the reviews coming out of the US, and soon in Australia, are saying they're really bad. Elon's insistence that cameras can do these things is perhaps way ahead of the current technology curve, and not until he adds a front bumper camera will safe parking be possible with the 2024 Tesla's.
@@chrisvanderstock he now admits cameras can’t do it without the radar/lidar input. It’s really about profit margin maintenance, along with stalks, speakers (7) . Tesla is still in a power-off zero-thrust decent with flight engineers in charge. It’s embarrassing amateurishness by a cult leader. Analysts haven’t a clue about manufacturing challenges and are in a deceptive fog.

Hi Chris, Looks good, but what about price? Is this a "pilot pack" or is this included in the car?

Fyi, it's not L2 self-drive, it's simplely a drive assist, my Volvo xc60 has the same, only help you keep in between line and distance from front cars
